I think they will have something decent planned. Introducing the cast at ComicCon two years ago went over really well and they'll want to seize the opportunity again. Even if they only have Michael Chiklis and Vin Deisel there, it'll be a huge deal. (Assuming Vin Deisel gets the part, which I'm betting he already has.) The Surfer casting is going to be the major announcement regardless, I predict.

Thats exactly when it started filming last time and 3 of the 4 were at Comic-Con....they will be there, the question is who of the 4 will be there....
Hopefully Chris can make it to this one, along with Ioan and Michael.....I don't think Jessica will be able to because if I'm not mistaken she's filming "Good Luck Chuck" in July....

I think there will be a different focus than last time . . . if they even do anything for FF.
Last time they needed to introduce the cast and convince fans they were right for FF.
Since we have a better idea of what to expect this time, I don't expect them to go all out on FF. They'll probably spend more time on the other properties.
Maybe we'll find out who's going to be doing SS and they'll introduce him.

Anticipation is not going to be sky high for F4/2 considering SM3,Shrek 3 and POTC3 are all out next year along with Harry Potter 5
F4/2 is beneath those in the pecking order ant
YA i guess but does it has any chance to do $400 worldwide.
FOX better release a TEASER with amazing sfx for silver surfer and some kick ass money shots.
That will definitely boost up people's anticipation. :)

Do u guys want F4-2 to BOMB???
Not really, but if it's a good film, I'm confident it won't bomb.
If it's crappy, I sort of hope it does bomb so they can realize they need to fix the problems.
I'm probably looking forward to this film about as much as anyone out there, but when it comes right down to it, it's just a movie.
A movie should either entertain you or leave you saying: "Eh, I just wasted 20 bucks and a couple hours." but there's no reason any movie should ever give you a moment of worry, tension or stress.
Just relax and enjoy the ride.:)

Why "worry" about a bad story?
Will your dog die if it's a bad story?
Will the IRS audit your taxes if it's a bad story?
Unless you're invested heavily in Fox, the only harm that will come from a bad story is you'll waste a couple hours and a few bucks and it may take a while for our next sequel as they work out the problems.
Are any of those thing so bad that they're worth worrying about?
I prefer to look forward to the possibility of a good film rather than worrying about the possibility of a bad film.
Based on what we saw last time, do we really expect a great film this time? Maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised. If not, oh well, no biggie.

The Transformer teaser was nothing really from the movie either...simply a chance to get the name of the movie and the release date up....all of about 30 seconds. Fox could have certainly done this simply by showing some space footage, and a streak of silver heading for the earth. Nothing more than that would have been needed. SOMETHING would have been cool. Yes what you described up there "IS A TEASER" thats what they do...."THEy TEASE". You can tease without having ANYTHING filmed...

Well the one of first movie's costume designers -Wendy Partridge- is doing another film, so they probably were forced to get a new one.
I'm not sure if Jose Fernandez is coming back or not. If he's not coming back i hope Vogt doesn't stray too far away from the first movies costumes. Maybe she could alter the boots of the hero costumes a bit, making them sleeker.

Why Saturday? Sony, Sam Raimi, Ghost Rider, Nic Cage, Eva Mendes, Mark Johnson, Hulk Director annoucement, Edgar Wright, Ant-Man info, Iron Man reveal and poster/shirt giveaways, + Jon Favreau, Mike Judge :), the ATVI panel, and more. Also I believe Bryan Singer and company will be there on Saturday.
OK it is very clear you don't care about F4 hence you call friday a decent day. I guess you are not interested in the sequel.

That's on Friday. Vileone is going. At least I think it's on Friday. I do have a job and I'm lucky enough that I can free up time at will since I work for myself. :) But two days off...nah. Too much lost money.
Edit: Oh Retro...didn't see that cool. The one's I'm not gonna miss are Hasbro, Activision, Marvel Panel, Sony, and Mike Judge. Anything else is a lower priority. Mike Judge's one is at 11:00 PM so it won't conflict with anything.

You haven't been here long enough to know WTF you're talking about. I'm one of the few who really enjoyed the FF even though at the same time it was mediocre considering the potential. I'm also in contact with Tim Story via e-mail like a few others so I'm very interested in part 2. I thought it was on Friday. Also what you think is ****ty doesn't matter to me. These are things "I'M" intersted in. I'm the one who's going to the show. I'm not going to see what others are interested in. Ant-Man I think is gonna be a very cool film. It's different than any other live action film done since this resurgence began. If I can make the Fox panel I will but I put the Sony and Marvel panels as top priority. Hasbro too since I'm a shareholder there too.

Guys i am a little worried for F4-2 both GHOST RIDER and SPIDER-MAN 3 have new sites where the filmakers will keep uploading production blogs similar to what Peter jackson did with King kong.
Those movies are already anticipated comic book movies. F4-2 is NOT!!! FOX has to launch a new site for F4-2 and has to show an awesome teaser trailer as soon as possible to make the movie a higly anticipated one else i don't see this one doing well at all at the boxoffice.

As much as I would like to see an official site already, I think Fox are wise in holding off for a bit. Although the others have their sites up now, it really means that all the content and stuff they are putting out now can be released at a later date by Fox in more of a campaign.
They will have something up very soon I am sure, but don't expect too much just yet. They will want to start hyping more a bit further down the line IMO. Probably following a similar format as their promotion for X-Men.

No Way!!!!!!!!;)
Your source for that statement? Or is that your opinion????
The first movie didn't have a trailer out until January.
The website wasn't up for months.
Its now a franchise that has shown it can be a money maker, even though it was probably one of the least known among the kids.
Why are you freaking out now? Oh wait........nevermind.
Next freak out will come when there is no teaser with the World Series...;)
Next freak out will come when there is no teaser with the Super Bowl...;)
Guess what the first movie didn't have those either...
People forget what they see right now, they remember what the see within a month of the movie. The first movie PROVED THAT.....their promotion formula WORKED.....thats an area they don't need to change.....
BUT, with that said, I would like to see a teaser with the new Bond Movie. Even a teaser with just a slight glimpse of the SS and the title.

Maybe because no one really knows about it yet. The Two Movies you listed have been filming for quite a while when F4-2 has not even started yet. So my advice
Calm the **** down. FOX has NOTHING to show yet for F4-2.

The studio also isn't referring to the film as "F4-2."
Oh my God, what if they read your posts and decide to use that? I hope they don't because that's really confusing and if they do use that abbreviation then people are going to get confused because they're going to be thinking "F42?? What's that? Did I miss 41 others?"
It will make them mad to be confused and they will resent the movie for making them confused and boycott it or else they won't bother to find out about the movie at all -either way no one is going to go see this movie! OHMYGOD!! This movie won't sell 10 tickets! Game over, man! *sob!*

Why do they need to confirm who SS is?
Why confirm that Galactus is in the movie?
Story and Executive Producer Kevin Feiger have both confirmed Julian as Doom.
Why must we know all this information?
All we knew last year by this time were the 4 themselves. Why do we have to know so much?
I don't see the need for immense amounts of information...
I'm not a big fan of Fox either but its certainly not because of their promotion engine....they did a really great job last year and really the first BIG thing we got last year wasn't until October and that was the fact that Jessica had dyed her hair blond and was wearing blue contacts.
Chill and have alittle patience...

It's "come on."
Two words.
Common is what your freak-outs have become.
Tim Story and the cast have slightly more important things to do than flying thousands of miles and taking days out of their schedules to answer fanboy questions for 30 minutes.
Important things like maybe preparing to shoot this movie!
Personally, I hope we don't see a second of footage until around Christmas time.
FOX may have screwed other aspects of FF up, but they know what they're doing in the marketing department. The huge opening for X-Men 3 (20 million over projections) is proof of that.

It's kind of hard for them to show up when they're supposed to be shooting here in a bit. So...yeah. Granted something would have been nice, but they're probably trying to keep things sealed since you know....they released the entire movie 2 months before release in forms of trailers etc. Talk about over saturizing the market:o
And when common sense prevails we know Galactus will be the cliffhanger ala COMIC HISTORY.
Doom has been confirmed ot be back numerous times along with McMahon.
Sounds to me Jones will be doing set work as The Surfer. Maybe not voice.

Word from the "powers that be" is that they are just too busy prepping the movie. I have said this time and time again, I would rather see them put the time into the movie rather than appeasing fans right now with some half-assed stuff that they didn't fully have time to put together.
I am sure they know what they are doing, and that it will be for the better of the movie....

Yes, total agreement...
I think its funny that some fans...(one fan?) think that they have to be kept totally up to date...if the promotion worked last time....WHICH IT DID....then why change......2004 this was a brand new unproven franchise....a panel with the actors was needed....
I want them in Vancouver much, much more than I want them answering fan questions on some panel....GET TO WORK GUYS.....:o

It still would have been nice for them to be at the panel to put some confidence in the moviegoers, fans, and industry that they're going to really do it right this time. Balls out.

They may have figured it wasn't worth getting trampled under the big movies so they will release their first promo stuff at a time it can get full attention

I don't think they need to prove anything at this point.......to fans or anyone else....I want them working right now so that they can prove it when it counts.....in June 2007...

That's kind of what they said but at the same time even at panel with Guillermo Del Toro they were asking Silver Surfer questions that have made headlines as well. It's highly anticipated but to me it was a mediocre film. I understand it's an origin film, a difficult franchise, and it's not x-men and everything so I expect part 2 to be way better and much more fun. It's not like the whole cast and crew had to be there. Hell Favreau is talking Iron Man for 2008, we got Wright talking Ant-Man in 2008 or beyond, and the Hulk director is gonna be there talking which won't be probably till 2009. FF comes out next year. Oh well.

I think he has the right built and attitude to be SILVER SURFER. Also he has done lots of stunt work in the past which means they can kill two birds with one stone by making him the SILVER SURFER and getting him do the stunts for silver surfer.
But i guess Doug jones will be the person :) :(

Well, I can see your point but he has one big drawback - he isn't known for being able to act through the latex. If you can't emote with skill then you've kinda had it. Physical appearance can be altered, but if you don't have the acting talent (which this role demands) to go with it you're basically buggered.

No news from the con? I'm curious what Stan Lee (is he back as Willie Lumpkin?), costume designer Mary Vogt had to say and if there was any news on the director's cut dvd.

I saw some live coverage of the con on the G4 cable channel over the weekend. They had an interview with Marvel EIC Joe Quesada where they asked him what he is most excited and he replied that it was the Iron Man project with Spider-Man 3 coming in a close second. He didn't even mention the FF at all.
There was a panel where Stan Lee appeared with Joe Q and other Marvel writers like the FF's JMS and both John Romita Sr and Jr but they mostly talked comics, like the FF: The end project. (cover below by Alan Davis) Newsarama story (http://forum.newsarama.com/showthread.php?t=77848)

That's the movie costume with the 4 symbol in the middle, rather than on the side.
Could these be our first glance at the costumes in FF2?

I think a change in the design would also show that they are not the team of the first movie. They are a team that is strong, more able, and ready to rumble.
