Singer was a good fit for X-men. He was not a good fit for Superman. His fetish like love of the Donner films will only hold it back. It's time to move on, those movies were out when I was 8 years old. It's 2006, and Superman is a totally different character now than he was then.

Sure I do.

There are people who say CHOCOLATE is bad ;) (yes, really, they exist). This does not mean it IS bad, they just don't like it. Same with SR - 76% on RT think it is fresh, the rest don't. What do I care? It has its problems, but I enjoyed it. I laughed, I (almost) crieds, I experienced sensations comparable to a rollercoaster ride during the plane sequence, only I decide whether I like it or not. Wait for it, watch it and decide.

Good call Lightning. I heard from somewhere that they had to 'grow' the corn for the farm scene... That really seems like Hollywood to go through all that expense for what they could have reasonably paid some farmer with crops in the field.

I rather have him return than risk....X3

I want Singer to return very much, but I want Hayter to polish the script (which would inject more 'fun') and I want that desaturated look to give way to more vibrant colors.

After seeing te film, yes. Singer has to come back and continue things.

after seeing Returns...i wouldn't trust the sequel in anyone ELSE's hands. i just hope Singer does a lil' more of his own thang, which i'm sure he'll be doing considering none of his other movies were 'remakes'.

Singer did a wonderful job with SR. Bring on part II!!

i hope Singer actually sticks with the same writers. aren't they the same guys he wrote X2 with? if so then yes, i want him to stick with them.

Singer got his Donner-ish movie out of the way....now it's time to get to the nitty gritty.

Ya see, I don't think that will happen. I think Singer will make another Donner-ish movie!!!!

you serious? you think Singer's gonna do a pseudo remake AGAIN? i seriously doubt that. at least i HOPE he doesn't. X2 wasn't a remake of X-Men.

I truly belive that any Superman film Singer makes will have a Donner feel. With Superman, thats all he knows. I hear the writers read the comics, maybe so, but it didn't show with the film. S:TM is ALL Singer knows. What else is he going to do.

I hope Im wrong, but I haven't been yet!!!!

And, can we all ATLEAST call this film a vague sequel!!!

He can make a pseudo remake of Superman 2.

I also feel he's going to make the next movie a pseudo remake of Superman 2.

I would love to see him back. :) Singer is to Superman as Raimi is to Spider-man. Capable directors who also happen to be big fans have shown VERY impressive results I must say (even the Daredevil director's cut, which is the one that was supposed to be released in theaters).

This movie felt like Donner branching out more into the comic though. There were a lot of scenes that came right out of both the comic and animated series. Like him zooming right past the airplane window. Man did that put a smile on my face. :D

he had good reasons for doing a pseudo remake of part 1.....i think he knows comic-fans well enough to know that they'd hang him if he did a pseudo remake of part 2.

I can take a nap WITHOUT paying 11 bucks for a movie ticket. This movie isn't even going to make its budget domestically - and it doesn't deserve to.

I hope he doesn't. Singer is not the Raimi of Superman. The Raimi of Superman was Richard Donner until he couldn't find a way to end his movie. Singer made a mediocre Superman movie, and I want to see someone who can do better. Singer's movie had a shaky plot, in every facet, and non responsive characters. Great effects, but weak in about every other way.
