PS: Don't even look into the whole Infinite Crisis thing until you learn alot more about Superman adn the DC U in General. It won't make sense adn be a little confusing!

Here are the basic Superman comics released right now:
Superman
Action Comics
All Star Superman
The first two fall into modern DCU continuity, and intertwine w/any/all books at any given time a crossover is deemed. All Star Superman just came into publication back in the fall. It is continuity free, but completely creative and enjoyable. The 4th issue just came out a week or two ago, so it's not to late to jump on board that one.

What back issues would you suggest??? i might jump on board with all star superman then whats happened in the 4 issues ive missed...does it come out monthly?

no, bimonthly. I suggest you go out and buy all four back issues. there's no reason to just "jump on board" w/issue 4 or 5. GET EM' ALL!! Each issue's worth EVERY penny!

Is it likely my local comic book store will have all four issues of all star? So whens the next all star out?...I will take your advice and pick up a copy of kindom come as i buy a few other graphic novels, will i be confused with kindom come or is it newbie friendly...

Kingdom Come IS newbie friendly. It reads as if a lot of things have happened, but it's built to be a mystery so don't be confused. I read it b/f I got into any DC stuff in years and years...
They 'should' have the All Star's but its been pretty popular. Like I said, issue #4 just came out two weeks ago so you should be in good shape. And it only comes out every two months.

I checked reedcomics.com and will cost me £12 for the four issues, do you think i can get them anywhere cheaper. I will have a trip to my local comic book store this week, i just hope the guy is newbie friendly because i will be askin a lot of questions and asking to subscribe to like 4 different comics. Another question are most comics monthly and bimonthly? Is all star the most popular superman comic, if not what is?
Thanks Harry

he should be pretty friendly, that's what they're there for. plus, they know they're competing w/internet now as well so there's no reason not to be helpful.

Most comics are monthly

yeah, so far All Star Superman will likely be the highest selling / most popular title DC puts out now that Infinite Crisis is over.

All Star Batman is along the same line as A-S Supes, only it doesn't come out nearly as often:( But it's still qual-i-ty!

Okay, I've been thinking about something. Are you a fan of solid dialogue and character development or outright action? I like a little bit of both, depending on who writes.
But if you're wanting the mother of all action softcover trades, pick up Superman/Batman vol.1! It's fantastic. It may lack the depth that some Supes books give characterization, but it's probably the best superman action story that's come out in a decade. And you really don't need any backstory to enjoy it...

Superman/Batman is actually been DC's most consistently best-selling title for like, three years! The first two volumes of it are now collected in easy to find Trade Paper Backs (which contain two six-issue arcs each).
Phenomenal action-reading and unique interation b/w Bats and Supes! Especially the first arc! Pick that one up today, it's a MUST! the regular series just came out w/issue 27 so it'll probably be easier to collect it in trade form.
Just get it at your local comic book store or look on Amazon. I've bought some great stuff on there for cheap, and if you've got an amazon.com account, you get free shipping on total prices over $25.
