Wow. You see Ben Affeck in the classic George Reeves suit, I got eerie chills.
You also see him as Clark Kent.
What are your opinions on this film? I think it looks and sounds Oscar worthy.

Looks good. Looks like Affleck puting in a good performance.
Affleck was da bomb in Phantoms, yo.
I wonder if this technically includes him as the 6th man to play the Man of Steel.
Technically he is playing Superman and Clark Kent onscreen..

Can't wait for this, miss the old name though.
The Fleck appears to be back in top form.
Seeing the George Reeves ass-cape again just gave me goosebumps. I cant wait.

Dear Hollywood,
Please stop ruining movies by putting assfleck in them. He sucks.

Well is too early to say oscarworthy. The trailer does look good though.
Thanks for posting the link.

The fleck is pretty weak in most of the stuff he does. He can do great work from time to time. I hope this is one of those times.

George Reeves was a terrific guy: generous to a fault, constantly giving to those in need. He was a complex person, certainly not perfect but on the TV screen he was perfect, the kind of hero kids need to look up to. He was also known to throw all night parties with plenty of booze flowing and was a real ladies' man. My concern with this film is the sensationalized angle it takes, like a movie version of that terrible tabloid of the day "Hollywood Confidential". They better be REAL careful how they treat this material as it merits a thoughtful and respectful approach. Advance buzz on this is, unfotunately, is just the opoosite. I'm curious how Jack Larson (Jimmy Olsen) and Noel Neill (Lois Lane ) will react. You can bet they will come to the defense of MY hero, MY Superman, the great George Reeves.

Affleck is a good actor, but I still don't think he looks even remotely like George Reeves.

Why? There's perfect justification for not liking him.
And I figure comic book fans will hate him either way. The fans of the movie are probably pissed because he isn't coming back to reprise the role simply because the film didn't make money and make himself look better (which is reflective of the type of person he is) and haters of the film don't like him because they think he sucked in it.

Poor assumptions man. THE thing that pisses me off is exactly what you in part mentioned. Hating him for his personality rather than because of his acting in a movie you might not have liked. He's not our puppet you know, he doesnt have to be to your liking at all in real live. Make a damn difference and separate actor from private person. The only thing you should be judging him is his acting.

Hugh Jackman was supposed to play George Reeves when this movie was supposed to film two years ago, but then it got delayed and he dropped out, so now Ben Affleck is starring as Reeves.

Dude, after all the biatching here about Routh wearing padding under his skivies, isn't it obvious when Affleck is wearing a padded costume?

What difference does it make? He still looks in good shape, if there's padding or not. Keyword is LOOKS. Some people will ***** about anything...or try anyway

The white suit is from the tv episode, "The Big Freeze" where Superman is tricked into a chamber that freezes his powers. I'll try to dig up a photo.

Somehow i got a feeling we'll only see the white suit for legal reasons...
If i remember correctly this wasn't approved by DC/WB for use of the S suit.

The only thing you should be judging him is his acting.
I do that and I think he's a mediocre actor. He mugs too much for the camera. He a lot like Tom Cruise. They're not really great actors but they play themselves really well and look good while doing it.

I still hate this title. Hollywoodland would fit if this was about Hollywood up/downs itself. But if its about George Reeves only, the original title Truth, Justice & the American Way would be better. Superman related or not, it fits.

I usually don't like Ben Affleck. I think he isn't a good actor in most of his movies, but from time to time, he do something very good. And from this video, I have the impression that I'd like this movie. It sounds promising.

I think the trailer pretty much confirms that the whole movie hinges around the possibility that he was murdered.

So let me get this straight, just so there's no confusion on my part. "Truth, Justice and The American Way" can't be used as the title because D.C. and Warner Bros. (same thing) are being jerks and, oh yeah, Affleck can't be seen wearing the actual Superman costume with the red "S" and blue shirt and tights. Well, isn't that special? A movie about Superman that can't reference Superman. Are they even allowed to mention the name "Superman" or are they just going to call the character Reeves portrayed some sort of "superguy"? This is really ridiculous. Screw D.C. and Warner Bros. I'm sure this movie will be a hatchet job anyway. If any fans of the old show and George Reeves are reading this do yourselves a favor (if you haven't already) and join the yahoo group dedicated to both the man and the show or visit Jim Nolt's site, "The Adventure Continues". And you can always watch the original episodes on dvd. End of rant.

You're right about WB preventing Focus from using the actual Superman suit, but there are no restrictions in using the word "Superman" in the movie. In fact, one of the title cards in the trailer uses it:

Ben Affleck is going to show the world just how really great he is when this comes out. He'll really give a dignified and proper performance we call all be proud of with this performance.

I saw the trailer and if you notice the suit has no \S/. WB didn't authorize the producers to use it. IMO that just proves how stupid WB can be.

It really is ridiculous that they won't allow the "S" to be shown. I mean, you'd think they would simply because it would keep Superman fresh in everyone's memory. Stupid decision, WB... but then, it wouldn't be the first.
To the poster who said Affleck is wearing padding... that's because Reeves wore padding on the show.

From DD to Superman, funny to see him in that but, cool. I didn't know he was playing him. At first I thought that was a weird choice but it works, he looked good as Clark.
I think Reeves was murdered.

I thought he was a great Daredevil, and he'll bring the same grace to the role of George Reeves as well. He'll do a good job, and remind us all how good he is.
I think Reeves was murdered.
This is actually one of the great mysteries of LA and Hollywood right up there with Marilyn Monroe's death, and the Simpson Murders. I agree with you. I think he was killed as well. He was rumored to be dating some dame of a well known Mafia guy.

Cool manip.
Apparently it's real.
While it was originally reported that the Superman costume in the film is missing the "S" because Warner Bros. owns the film likeness of Superman, on July 6th, 2006, the web site www.aint-it-cool-news.com reported that Focus Features is forbidden from showing it in promotional material but that the costume will sport the iconic letter "S" in the film"

/\ Yeah I know, he's in front of a mirror. Eh, whatever.
I've always thought Affleck was a good actor, he's just made some bad movies. His performance in Good Will Hunting and in his movies with Kevin Smith have all been good. I think hwen working with a good direcotr and with good material Allfeck can be great. This movie loooks like one of those times.
