Firts, this tread is not to discuss if Reeves is better than Routh ...so you are bewildered.
And scond, Chris Reeve is timeless!!!! so there is not new or old, is good or bad, and for your information I love Brandon Routh, what I dont like is the way they made him look!! So if you have any nice image post it, but not came here looking to find someone to attack!

Indeed, and if you compare the Reeve and Routh suit:
wich one looks like a Halloween costume, and wich one looks like Kryptonian technology?
So, Superman the movie was shot in New York?

Despite the "lower tech" look of the Reeve suit (fine for it's time though), I still prefer it over Routh's. Way too many design flaws in the SR suit. Not to mention the man behind the \S/ (Reeve) is the far superior SuperMAN!

wich one looks like a Halloween costume, and wich one looks like Kryptonian technology? How is it that Kryptonians can invent super-polyester but can't accurately predict the collapse of a star or put landing gear on their spaceships? For all Jor-El’s giant head talk, it seems Kryptonian-intelligence is limited to the textile industry, pfft!

For those of you too young to remember, those NYC shots of Chris Reeve were the first to introduce us to the upcoming "STM". I seem to remember 3 or so shots taken from the New Jersey side showing the NYC background and two rooftop shots. What a contrast between these compelling shots of Reeve and those first-seen shots of Routh. Night and day.

Superman: THE Movie, was shot in 3 different continents..to an astounding budget of $55 millions...
and is still THE best Superman movie to date...

That pic is SO 1950's.
It looks like a poloroid with the onbaord flash that came with the cameras of the day. Also looks like the person who took it didn't coat it with that gel that Kodak shot stills needed to be coated with to kep it looking good. It is just faded becaue of that.

They didn't invent Super Polyester. The clothing from Krypton would have the same structural strength as Kryptonians on Superman. On Krypton it would tear as easily as polyester here. If it was torn on or near Krypton, and he didnt fix it, the tear would be unfixable on our planet.

He was so perfect as Superman. I wasn't alive at the time, but I really hope Fans appreciated having an actor so good completely embody the role of the World's greatest hero...As for the suit.."The Man makes the Suit.." not the othe way around, and Chris was a perfect example of that..

The colored one with his arms folded was on the cover of Playgirl magazine. Im looking forward to more since Im also a huge Chris fan.

I think it (Quest for peace) might be the most Chris Reeve intensive..most scenes of him as both Superman and Clark of all 4 movies. Not a lot on Lex--just enough to convey his villainy. I really dont go to the movies to see the villains get equal time with the heroes. But it happens more and more these days. SR could have used less Lex/and cohorts, and less New Krypton forming. IMHO

No, movie was good. Only: If the deleted scenes where IN the movie i think you and other people should never say there was to much Lex and NK growing!
I really, really hope they make that Extended Superman Returns dvd!

the other day I think than it would be amazing, if actually, Singer or Donner, film again all tha smallville scenes with Brandon as young Clark!!! and made the fortress scenes to!! with the new fortress of Superman returns! and of course, re made the creation of the fortress!! that would made the first movie look amazing!!!! imagine, see brandon as young clark and then see Chris in the Planet as an adult!!!

NO really. I hope the deleted scenes arent more of Lex and New Krypton. I saw enough of that. Just my own personal feelings.
Give me more superman and Clark.

See, there are some great scenes in Superman IV. I always used to love Superman IV as a kid, and I still love it.
As everybody know!! I am a big fan of Reeve Superman movies, but Superman IV was a movie that never like it!!!! I remeber wen I was a Kid, that I get out of the movie with a strange sensation, because the movie was not like the others!!! I remeber that I think back then, that maybe I was to big now, and the movies was not the same efect on me!! but years later, I see superman IV again, and I knew way that movie was not likerd by me!! I think someone should re made all the movie with all the footage and post good special effects and change somethings!! only on that way the movie can be good!!! because as some of you say!! the movie have some nice and beautiful moments!

That is what i mean ReeveFan!
With the deleted scenes from Superman Returns IN the movie (Krypton, more Smallville scenes, Ben Hubbard, Closet change, forgetting to put on suit, the what's wrong scene,...) i think we will not notice that are is so much time with Lex and New Krypton growing.

Re watched it again
A few scenes from Superman 4
I really loved like the first 30 minutes. I liked seeing all the Daily Planet footage and Chris as Clark.
He actually got to change in a real phone booth.

The special effects need cleaning up but it had some great moments.

man, his hair was just terrible in S:IV. I never notice it when watching the movie though... it must be in the context of these other pictures.

I've never actually seen any official images of Chris in the gym but they did show him training in the Making of Superman: the Movie video.
A couple of screencaps :)

There are 3 diferent images of Superman Flying around the Liberty statue, I think this must be a lost scene of the first movie that I think nobody realize before!!!

The shirt Lois is wearing isnt Superman's, is it ?? Doesnt look large enough to fit Chris.. I wonder if they ever intended it to be a scene in the movie or just a publicity shot. It is taken in the Fortress.
Cute pics. Thanks nightwing.
