I was just checking youtube for fun and I found this.....

and when you say you didn't know anime could be like this, what was it that appealed to you? I can probably tell you about some other good ones. What was your previous notion of anime?

Action and violence? Heh, you didn't honestly think all anime was like Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Sailor Moon and Dragonball Z, did you? ;)

here, do a search on youtube for any of these series. Watch their opening credits, or the first episode, or one of the music videos (called AMV) people have made using their photage like the Berserk one you linked to:

Cowboy Bebop
Samurai Champloo
Gantz
Elfen Lied
Trigun
Battle Angel Alita
Akira
Ghost in the Shell
Full Metal Alchemist
Neon Genesis Evangelion

And there's no anime for it, but there is an INCREDIBLE Manga series called Blade of The Immortal that is somewhat similar to Berserk (but better)
