TV Guide Interview with Goyer

TV Guide just recently interviewed David Goyer, screenwriter of Batman Begins. They brought up Blade: The Series, The Flash, and the Batman Begins sequel.

Here's what he said about Batman:


TVGuide.com: How about the Batman Begins sequel?
Goyer: [That] is in the works as well. [Director] Chris Nolan is editing The Prestige right now, and as soon as that is finished, we're all talking about that going into much higher gear.
TVGuide.com: Is the cast returning?
Goyer: I believe that's the intent.

Atleast we know that "The Prestige" is in post-production and once it is released, October of this year, Batman will be Nolan's next project. That means the ball is going to be rolling before the new year. It is good news as far as I am concerned.

We also know that Goyer is still fairly involved to some extent. So even if he's not writing the screenplay, he'll still be there to make sure Nolan doens't do somehting like not giving Scarecrow a mask.

But much like on BB he's still a consultant. Just to a lesser extent since he's not writing dialogue or pacing scenes etc.

Yup - Goyer and Nolan wrote a treatment for ALL 3 films. While Chris Nolan and Goyer co-wrote the screenplay with the first film, this one Goyer will have little to no input on since Jonah Nolan is co-writing the screenplay this time. Can't wait to see what these guys have cooked up...........

Nolan presented the plan (treatment) he and Goyer cooked up for Batman 2 back in October, 2005. The warner execs liked the idea, then in February, 2006 they hired Jonathan Nolan to write the screenplay.

I think he means after post-production on the Prestige, which is what Goyer seems to be indicating.

Once Nolan's done on the Prestige, i'm sure things with BB2 will start moving much faster.

Well, Goyer made excellent scripts for Batman 1, 2 and BB, so I will be glad with him coming back to make story for sequels :up:
