Will the kid eventually become Bryan singer’s version of superman failing as a father. Think about it isn’t Jason the opposite of superman already? He seemed normal/ week at first but when exposed to kryptonite thanks to lex. He’s all charged upped/ raged. He already killed for his mother (cough) anakin. Cute kid grows up to be raised by the dark side in an epic battle between father and son. Just imagine how that would tear the foundation of Lois and superman. To sacrifice his only son for the greater good. One wonders what Richard would resort to since he’s been portrayed as a real life version of superman, would he stand back and accept it or would he resort to extreme measures (mettalo) to get back at superman.
I noticed that the kid is week when exposed to the yellow sun (yeah I know u may say I’m just assuming right now) but come-on when he’s next to that island on the plane and on the boat!! No inhalers required. I’m sure that chamber in superman 2 had a reverse affect on his reproductive matter which is why Jason is the opposite of superman. Exposed to the red sun or kryptonite he’ll feel right at home. The perfect killing machine for superman I can see lex hitting him in the heart. May be not in the next movie but who knows what going to happen in the future?

I guess the next one will be lex and brainiac teaming up like many here I’m really looking forward to that on the big screen. Who knows how many yrs ahead are they going to in terms of the next movie? Jason could be a young kid-working part time at the daily planet helping Richard, Lois and uncle Clark. That would be a perfect setting for establishing a relationship between Jason and CK at the end of which it’s a cliffhanger lex kidnaps Jason.. back in metropolise they all assume Jason dead... via brainiac’s technology lex brainwashes him. Sets him free at the beginning of the 3rd movie. we see this renegade older version of Jason appear on shore from nowhere he seems normal at first but eventually looses his insanity. He’s lost his memory of who he is (DNA test by CK and Lois snooping around confirm its Jason) however at a switch of a trigger he goes bad. Yeah I know it’s seems to much like batman beyond: return of the joker but it could work here.

hmm..... i dunno, the first film ended beautifully with Superman repeating his father's blessing to Jason, i dont think they would just throw that all away so that we can have Darth Vader 2 for a storyline.

come on man he messed it up, it came no where near to the epic staus Of a RETURN!!!! in terms of international audience bryan and co assumed too much. Who the hell remembers Lois and ck getting giggy in fos? How the hell did he leave? who gave him that ship? OF COURSE you and I know this because we’re fans but the general audience needs to be explained on everything. A simple intro recapping s1 and s2 would be great but no he had to use that ****ty prolog. You may look at it as a quality flick since you know everything but look at it from someone else’s point of view, who’s not a comic book fanatic :o

The people I have seen it with are not comic book fanatics and they had no trouble following it...and they all liked it very much actually. As for Peters...I could of sworn it was said that he was a produucer in name only for SR and made no decisions.

I've heard that too.
I think there's some confusion on the budget, and Peters affect on this project.

Jon Peters had no say in the Superman Returns production, homie...Singer was runnin' the show. Peters lost a lot of cred after Superman Lives and Wild Wild West and was a producer in NAME ONLY.
I thought everyone knew that by now?

i thought that was more of a homage to the old Superman TV and movie serials.
the opening prologue to SR was white. and it was done in such a quality that you'd think that its a black and white movie. the Star Wars prologue was yellow and it scrolled :)

Jason does look like he has Down Syndrome in the movie, so he could pull off the Bizzaro look in a future movie.

Not a bad idea. Jason could try to be the hero, but he would doing it all backwards.

anakin didnt kill for his mother, he killed for revenge, for himself.

^^ He's right.
Also, I think its a bit shallow to go all Revenge of the Sith on MoS or its sequel. Really, I would have to think Singer more creative (especially if he wants to include Brainiac).

Crazy, that'd be like a mix of the speculation that Lana's baby might be Zod's on Smallville and the recent Action Comics plot.

I think that making Jason into Bizarro (a sickly mutated version of Superman) is the only way to go with that character. With Superman forced o destroy him. Otherwise he is Jar Jar

I find your lack of imagination disturbing.

Really, there is a hell of a lot more you can do with Jason beyond just killing him or making him a villain. Vader was right.:oldrazz:

Really, there is a hell of a lot more you can do with Jason beyond just killing him or making him a villainJust because you can do other things don't make them good ideas. I am not particularly intrigued by the idea of having him be 'superkid' and/or an eventual replacement for Superman which is probably the only other direction you can go with him

It's a way of introducing a Superboy character into the DC film Universe without having that Post-Death Of Superman storyline of the multiple Supermen, which would be ridiculous to most movie-goers.

Thats true, but killing him is most certainly not the best idea either.

I really like the idea that Superman's son is the "opposite" of him. Would explain why Lois could carry the super baby.
But I think it opens up a lot of posible story lines. How about Supes having to put himself on the line to save his son? You know using kyptonite to heal him.
Why does his son have to be evil? A super hero that is the opposite of Superman. He has powers, but they aer stronger at night. He doesn't absorb darkness so he has to carry around kryptonite. So on and so forth.

If you're gonna throw out ideas, how about Superman landed on the wrong Earth? Maybe his ship jumped universes and he landed on Earth 2.
Or maybe the whole thing was a dream during his hyperspace travel?
Or...
