hey, what would you guys think if we saw more superman is space fighting, and going to apokolips to fight darkseid and ect. and showing what ONLY he can do, no other comic movie characters can go into space and fight. ive always thought that superman as a movie would work great as a huge movie franchise like starwars or lotr. movies should explore that, its what makes the comic so great (or one of the many things that makes it great). just wonderng what you guys thought...

If he's using a boom tube to explain how he gets there, fine. But to just see him in space without any breathing apparatus? That's lame.
You're right. Superman as a trilogy would work like SW or LOTR, but not with the current director helming the project, and definitely not with a Pre-Crisis mold, IMO. Just take a look at why the current film is bombing. Superman lifted a continent into space as the climax of the film.

The wtachword these days seems to be "realism" so while i would love to see Supes on apokolips fighting Darkseid i doubt we will be seeing it onscreen

I agree. I'd love to see a trilogy with Luthor in the first film, Brainiac in the second, and Darkseid in the third invading Earth. However, I don't think that is feasible with the current direction handling the Superman franchise.

that's how he was originally, i dont see anything lame about that.
so if i was Lex Luthor and i dont have Kryptonite handy, all i have to do is coax the Man of Steel into space and figure a way to pull his mask off and kill him right? now that's lame.

This franchise has missed the boat. Our best bet for a true Superman saga (Apokolips, Darkseid etc) on screen is 15-20 years later, when technology is good and cheap enough for directors to take real risks

I agree with you. When he comes on at a later date, put out a Post-Crisis version, and NO Superson.
A Superman saga with Darkseid and Apokolips would work well. Having Superman using the boom tube to get to Apokolips is a whole lot better (IMO) than having him fly there under his own power. That Pre-Crisis stuff doesn't go over so well in the theatres.
I'd love to see some kind of combination trilogy incorporating Apokolips...Now! and Legacy. We'll never get anything that good under Singer's vision, but down the line when things have quieted down, it'd be great to see another director do it.

Having supes fight DarkSeid kinda misses the point, I mean hes gona die fighting orion THATS HIS ****ING DESTINY AND HIS WHOLE ****ING POINT! Give the new gods thier own movie. Using him as just a superman villan is waisting him.

You could use Darkseid in a Superman film, and then have a spin-off of the New Gods. Everyone knows the destiny, but that doesn't mean Superman can't fight him. Have you ever seen how well STAS handled things? They made it work, and Apokolips...Now! and Legacy have become some of the best written shows on comicdom ever.
Darkseid makes a great villain for a Superman film. I'd say use him for a third film. I personally endorse this idea.

Thing is Dini and Co did it very very well, tho they did WAAAAAAAAAAY depower darkseid, but the thing is , if it was done on screen by most people speacialy the ones currently in power , that pooch would so be screwed and we all know it.
