Superman Returns: Strange Visitor

On the edge of Metropolis, a senator and a scientist in a top-secret lab are hatching two plots against Superman, involving a murderous kryptonite robot and an insane Superman clone.
Lois Lane, the woman Superman loves, is at the center of both plots. And she has just discovered a terrible secret that could hake the Man of Steel to his core.
A threat from outer space will give Superman's enemies all they need to crush him forever. To defeat him, Superman must decide his role on Earth: is he a savior of humanity, or just a strange visitor?
Why couldn't they make this a movie instead of Brainiac Attacks? Such a better storyline and would have tied DIRECTLY into the movie.
What an opportunity wasted!
