This proably has been posted before, but it needs a thread of its own so people dont start to make new ones, and new one's as more news comes out. So far the only news has been from a interview with Avi Arad which is pretty credible:
iF: What cartoons do you have premiering on TV?
ARAD: We’ve got a new FANTASTIC FOUR cartoon. We’ve got a new WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN cartoon; it’s going to be based on the comics. We’re going to do another Sony SPIDER-MAN cartoon. We are probably going to do an IRON MAN cartoon after the movie
http://ifmagazine.com/new.asp?article=3045
I posted this here because the X-Men 3 The last stand thread has one in it, and this show miught be tied into SPider-Man 3 because it is begin done by Sony.
Speculate and Discuss.....:spidey:
PS: THis show will proably come out in Fall 2007.:)

For the LOVE OF BENJI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope they DO NOT do that CRAPPY Anime-lite animation like Teen Titans and Superboy and the Legion of Superheros or The Batman.
Base it on JL or JLU,Batman the animated series or Superman or Batman Beyond.
And I'll watch.
But,I fear it will :bomb: BIGTIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But,I fear it will :bomb: BIGTIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Well, at it's highest, Teen Titans was pretty damn good. The Batman, well, is crappy but does occasionally have it's moments, (Vs. Dracula, anyone?) and LSH is yet to be seen.
But, right now bt seems busy making DTVs for Warnesr, like New Frontier and a JLU DTV that IS in DCAU continuity, so I don't think he'll be doing spiderman.
Anyway, all I hope is that it's a clean slate for spidey toons. MTV spidey was a disappointment, and that's partly due to it so rigidly sticking to movie continuity that it was afraid to branch out.
Fox Kids is still the best spidey series we've gotten yet, but it could so easily be topped! Despite what I said, I wish that Bruce timm and Dwayne McDuffie and Paul Dini would do it.
it will probbaly be a second season to the 3D spider-man series from that was on MTV. They said the show was going to get a second season on another network, and it was based on the movie spider-man as well.

I wouldn't expect any DCU style animation in marvel productions, to be honest. Even back in the day, Marvel animation had a signifigant difference in style from DCU shows. I'm kinda hoping they go the route of the Ultimate Avengers style. It wasn't great for a full length feature, but It might just pick up the slack in a series.

The MTV cartoon was rumored to be Ultimate Spider-Man but than thigns changed. Ultimate Spider-Man would have been a smarter move....
I want something based on the 616 universe. So many great stories....:)

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised--and would actually like it--if they went with something like this, taking a page from the Ultimate Avengers movie in which the set-up is the same as the Ultimate Marvel universe, but the characterizations are more similair to the classic "616" Marvel universe. I would also think that they'd take a page from "X-Men: Evolution" in that they'll concentrate on Peter Parker the high school student if they go this route.
The other option is that it could be a "sequel" to the MTV Spider-Man and the Spider-Man movies, especially since a lot of people have seen the latter. Seems like the easier option.

I saw nothing in that article saying the cartoon was based on the movie. The only thing in common between the cartoon and the movie is Spider-Man. Like I was saying, this has nothing to do with Spider-Man 3.

There is no logical reason why it would have anything to do with SM3. Are they going to make a cartoon version of SM3 with a little bit added here and there? Or maybe make it a continuation of the movie so it will compete with (and divide the fans of) the next movie? Are they so mentally challenged that they can't come up with an idea of their own?

that's beside the point. you're trying to say there's no reason why this series will be movie-related, when the last series we got was.
you can't be sure. that's why we're free to speculate.

No. That is my point. It didn't last long because nobody watched it, bad ratings. When a tv show gets bad ratings, it gets canned. Its a proven failure. So theres no reason a right minded tv exec. would do it again. I wouldn't think they would saddle up a crippled/dead horse to run The Derby. But you're right, I'm NOT sure.
