I tell you whats more annoying.When you have spent X amount of time,money and energy on a film you cant sell, a film you created for fellow Superman fans and the very first time you announce it,you get a stinking reaction like that.

Would a "looking forward to seeing it" have been so hard?

The "annoying" music was to set the period. Music I had scored especially by the way.Sorry you didnt like it. I like it a lot.
Just as the image itself never gave too much away but still set the scene.

I guess you would of preferred it if it was a shot of Chris Reeve and the williams theme. What was the quote from Superman II ..."A sentimental replica..no style at all"

I'm doing a Superman like no other. So please dont tear down something because you feel like it.

Well before the guy with the stinking attitude messed up the topic.

I have written and directed a short Superman film,entitled THE SECRET TRUTH.It revolves around the age-old question ,why doesnt anyone ever spot Superman behind the glasses. We,myself and partner Mike Manzel have been working on this,for almost a year.Not full time of course.This includes building a lifesize replica of a 1942 coffee shop.



As soon as its finished,I'll let you all know.

I guess Mr Negativity above doesnt like things like teaser posters for movies etc.Because I put a teaser page up and all he could say was "WTF".

SoI got a little annoyed.

That sounds very intresting and a question I've always been asking. I remember I was watching an ep of Lois and Clark yesterday and Superman was sent to court because he was asked to not use his powers anymore. Well he wasn't wearing his glasses of course but god dam the guy looks the same. Perry White then took in Superman so he could watch over him. And I was thinking ''hey white you work with Clark everyday you'd think by know you would know his face''.

Can't wait to see your film and don't let one guy ruin anything for you. You'll always get one person throwing crap at your work.

The conversations we've had over time about Comic Book Characters, I am looking forward immensely to seeing your interpretation.

As for the negativity by that one individual, the rare opportunity to see something by an Artist and Film maker not doing it for the money or to put some "Burtonesque" far removed spin on the cannon of this character, but something pure and from the heart of a lifelong fan should be welcomed.

I have had the rare opportunity to see a picture from Mike's short featuring Superman in Costume.

In absence of a better way of describing my reaction, I found looking at this image was like watching a "Magic Act" as a child.
It's amazingly well done, like a child I sat examining what was before me in an attempt to spot some flaw where the illusion ended and reality began.
I couldn't tear my eyes away for a whole 10 minutes.

Mike has succeeded extremely well in capturing Superman.
This is not some random body builder in lycra who kinda "looks like Superman".
No, for a fleeting moment, an immeasurable fraction of a second Superman was real.

The reaction I had to that picture is the same emotion I imagine I'd feel if Superman were to have touched down in the street right in front of me...

Pure Awe.

I for one cannot wait to see this short film.

For the most part,this will be classic Superman all the way.Or rather how I interpret classic.As I said above this is more of a Clark Kent story. But when you see Superman,I think it will open a few eyes.Of course it will have its naysayers..

Besides doing the suit different than most,Im talking material and art direction wise(its still the classic suit) ,our Clark Kent is mature,not a young guy in his twenty.I personally want a to see a SuperMAN.
