Comic Annuals Question!

I got a quick question about the yearly release date for annuals. Do they comes out after the last regular issue of the year, or just random coming out whenever the writers see fit?

Annuals used to come out annually... usually around summer time, which has always been a better time of year for comic book sales.

These days, they seem to come out whenever a company sees fit to put one out.

What ManofBat said. Instead of having "Summer blocbuster" mini's that spill out into different series what they did was do the story on different Annulas of related titles. But they didn't always have to be in Summer nor did their stories have to be relevant to what was happening at the moment.
