Maybe not to you. But to me and so many others, it is comedy perfection.

whatever, it's not for everyone. It's more like a satire on comics and superheroes, and some people tend to be offended by satires.

Nextwave does kick nuts and so does She-Hulk. She-Hulk is written better though. It's probably the best written comic out there. Yeah, I went there.
DC has some very good comics but, Marvel has way more controversy and tension going around. There's no such thing as bad publicity after all.

see, I LOVE She-Hulk and Runaways and a bunch of other titles, but to me, they don't qualify as "kick-ass". "Kick-Ass" is a seperate category. The ony two current Marvel titles I can confidently say "kick ass" on a regular basis are Daredevil and Nextwave

Daredevil gets my vote. Sure, I have a bias, but the numbers don't lie. The last two issues have sold out in 3 of the local shops.

Amen, brotha! 'Bout time Ms. Walters got some love on this board.
And while I like Civil War I feel like I bought into a marketing ploy. I think it was done to get new readers.

Incredible Hulk is kicking ass ever since Planet Hulk started:up:
It's not the deepest read you'll find but there are asses being kicked and it is kick ass
Astonishing X-Men and Daredevil are Marvel's most kick-ass books on a consistent basis

I'm very much enjoying Civil war, CW: Frontlines, Wolverine, Captain America, the civil war crossover of Thunderbolt, and I personally love Cable & Deadpool.
I also slightly am begenning to enjoy Wolverine Originas and Ultimate Spider-Man.
Joker
07-17-2006, 02:33 AM
Nextwave, all the Ultimate books, Ghost Rider, Punisher, Daredevil, Civil War Frontline (I actually like Speedball, who would have thought that would ever happen?), Civil War

There's more...But that's what I read

At the moment
Daredevil
Moon Knight
Civil War
Civil War Frontline
Wolverine(the art could do with some work and the skeleton thing was daft
but the writing is great!)
X-men(Sabretooth and mystique as x-men...Genius! and I'll be interested how
they interact with gambit in the coming months)
X-Factor (great art and just doing something different with an x-team, gets
a lot of bad feedback :( but personally I'm really enjoying it)
Ultimate X-men (although this is based on it improving...phoenix sucked
ass!)
Looking forward to for the future
Spider-Girl (of course!)
Hero's for hire (be interested to see how this pans out post civil war)
X-men: First class (i love wolverine but it'll be good to see the "classic"
team without wolvie since I wasn't even born at that
time)
Punisher War Journal
Must try harder
New Avengers(#21 sucked, I'm sorry but it did)
Wolverine Origins (Slooooooooooooooooooooow)
Ghost Rider (Again very slow although this is the first issue so hopefully
gets better)
Sensational spider-man(seriously thinking about dropping this one, just feels
really stilted at the moment, and why did they give
pete bruce campbell's chin in the latest issue?)

Woah it's amazing the things you learn when you just type without thinking.
Spiderman has always been my favourite marvel character and yet the only spidey title there is in the must try harder pile... ASM,USM,FNSM aren't bad, just a bit meh at the moment. Spider-girl doesn't count cause it's not spider-MAN focussed so...hmmm:confused:
JMS & BMB please do better, these were my two favourite titles! (although I used to read them in trade format which may explain why I'm not digging USM as much anymore)

You don't think Ultimates 2 qualifies?
doesn't come out often enough. If it only has half the number of issues come out in a year that a normal title has, then it's ass kickiousity is lowered

IMO.
Nextwave
Daredevil
Ultimates
Ult Spidey
Ult FF
Punisher Max
Mooniknight
There are others I would have put in but they've either finished or become mired in Civil War crossover land.

Consistently Kick-ass for me:
Daredevil
New Avengers
Captain America
Hulk
Amazing Spider-Man
Sensational Spider-Man
Spider-Girl
Civil War
Frontline
Fantastic Four
Super-Skrull
Marvel Team-Up
Not sure if i should include Young Avengers...i read the first issue and thought it was very mediocre. Didnt buy anymore, but picked up #12 as Super-Skrull was appearing and i was completely blown away. To the point where im going to get all the back issues i missed, and will support the next volume.
I was also really enjoying The Thing and MK:4, but they've both apparently been cancelled.

I would say that the art & current story would push sensational spidey to kick ass also.....

But he had BRUCE CAMPBELL's CHIN in the current issue. I was expecting him to sit down to a cow pie. Peter is not supposed to be rugged, he's a science geek which is why I can empathise with him. Also it kind of looked(I'm assuming this was the case) entirely computer generated. Animation can do great things with CGI but i'll still take a well drawn manga any day, so much more feeling to it's construction.

The only title on my list that hasn't been on any of the last 3 pages is Uncanny. Seems you've finally slipped off the edge. It was only a matter of time.
Darthphere

People just have a different definition of kickass. ASM, while honestly pretty good after Civil War #2, isnt what I would call kickass. Id give that to Ultimates and Civil War but a title like ASM or Uncanny in which nothing really happened the first issue of Bru's run.
Genesis 1.0
07-19-2006, 01:26 PM
'Kicking ass right now', quite relative criteria and personally, I found the developments, while not what most would consider 'action packed' caused me to raise my opinon of the title AND it's potential.

Runaways
Daredevil
New X-Men (suprised no one's mentioned this, besides Astonishing it's the only X-title I read)
I'd add Ultimates 2, but it needs to come out more often than 3 or 4 times a year.
