Ironhide has been a truck many times throughout the various TF incarnations/re-adaptations. So that would be nothing new, plus it works with his character. And yeah he's one of the 3 Oldest Autobots in the G1 storyline.

They just rented that Cabover style truck for the comic con last year the truck was actually white I do believe they just put red vinyl tape over the exposed parts. But alas it looks as if Prime will indeed be a long-nose conventional style truck.

Bonecrusher was originally a bulldozer and one of six 'Constructicons' who formed Devastator, the most infamous of all combiners (and fan favourite by six billion miles).

However, someone decided that Bonecrusher should be a minesweeper and Devastator should be a single Transformer (tank).

They weren't thinking about sequels though (IMO) and thankfully those two guys won't appear in this (setup) movie. :o

Oh yeah, most of them have precident*, but as you point out, a lot of that stuff is unknown to lapsed fans or people who watched the original show or bought the toys (a very large crowd of people).

Like you say, we'll just have to wait and see if these deviations from the most well known version of Transformers work for or against the movie.

* Wheelie and Kremzeek also have precident BTW. That doesn't mean they should be included in the movie.

Yeah, all the Decepticons were mentioned by name (well on a computer screen at least). I don't know about other scripts.

Talking about the one where Devastator was a jumbo jet and Blitzwing was some kind of military cargo plane, like you say. I don't actually remember the exact model of plane though.

I think they've probably combined the chracters of HotRod and Bumblebee to make the Bumblebee we'll see in the movie. However, if they have a HotRod character by himself, that is the perfect car.

Not the exact words I would've chosen, but yeah, the Decepticon police car is a Mustang and that truck is different to the one chosen for Prime. ;)

It's the wrong shade of blue, the smokestacks are in the wrong place, and you should be able to see flames even at the truck's rear.
