View Full Version : TV shows you want to watch but never quite get around to it..
What are some shows you have wanted to watch, but just never have the time, opportunity, whatever?
Off the top of my head, I would say Alias is one. The X-Files as well...currently, The 4400 and Lost are two shows I would love to watch...but...my scheduel just never syncs up with them.

House and Reno 911 are the big ones that come to mind. I've seen a few episodes of both and they both look good, but House seems like the kind of show that you'd want to watch from the beginning and Reno 911 is on opposite The Venture Brothers and Lucky Louie, and my DVR can only record/tune to two channels at a time.

Farscape's my favorite sci fi series ever. Good luck watching all the seasons, though. The DVD sets are like $115 each. :(

24. Everyone tells me it rocks the house and I even bought season one, but I have yet to get a chance to watch it. I already know I'll love it, for some reason, I've just never gotten around to it. :(
Carnivale is another one that I enjoyed the first 1 or 2 episodes of, but haven't gotten a chance to get around to it. Even though it's cancelled, I still want to see what storyline they developed.

Angel and Buffy were two shows, but I've gotten the chance to get caught up as they're in reruns on F/X and TNT in the morning. I TiVo them and watch 'em when I get home and over the weekend, I've just finished season 5 of Buffy and season 2 of Angel.

For me, it's Buffy, more of 24, and 4400. Being a HUGE Alias-freak, I've been told many times over again that if I love Alias, I'd love Buffy....just haven't gotten around to watching it yet.
And to Matt and roach...rent/buy the DVDs, download the episodes...ANYTHING to watch at least the first 5 episodes of LOST and ALIAS. I'm telling you..you won't regret it! Just make sure you watch them from the beginning, in order, and without letting anyone spoil any of it for you.
Also, I'd reccommend to anyone who hasn't watched it yet: The Office and Arrested Development

Based on what I've seen of it, you're not missing much. I saw some of the pilot and it was so bad that I changed the channel.

so many... but... I finally took the time to explore the OnDemand channels (I'm kind of lazy when it comes to figuring out how things work), but finally looked into it, and it's 1)freiken easy 2) has every freiken show and movie one could want to watch. It's over, I going to need to retire from life.
oh yeah, my point: Not a problem anymore. I've been vegging for atleast a week after work/school, and catching up on EVERYTHING. OnDemand is the devil, it is my Freaktonite.
Malcom in the Middle.
Me and my dad love watching that show but both of us continually forget to watch it so we always miss it. we missed the finale episodes. :(

Prison Break. I was pretty hyped for it last year, but I never got around to watching it.

I watched it all the way. Was disappointed with how everything turned out in the end, though. Didn't really live up to its hype. At least for me, anyway.

TV is dumb now, the only shows I regularly watch are the Simpsons and Family Guy, and maybe a few shows like Pimp My Ride.

Damn, are those a lot cheaper? I was planning to look into a multi-region DVD player for The Invisible Man's DVDs anyway... maybe I'll try getting the UK Farscape mini-sets, too.

Battlestar Galactica. haven't heard anything but the highest praises for it.I've watched some moments here and there, and it does look very interesting, but haven't had the time to catch up yet.

Well take this site for example:
http://play.com/DVD/DVD/6-/Search.html?searchstring=farscape&searchtype=r2title
Individual sets (2 discs, between 4 and 5 episodes) are £9.99 (free postage and packaging... altho that may only be the uk), while season box sets are £54.99... thats pretty fricking sweet... infact... i'm going to go complete my season one set... *runs off to order*

Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/search/ref=nb_ss_w_h_/026-9985252-9206855?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=Farscape&Go.x=0&Go.y=0&Go=Go
Pretty much the same deal, maybe slightly dearer, but you have the option of buying second hand.
HMV: http://www.hmv.co.uk/hmvweb/simpleSearch.do?pGroupID=5&simpleSearchString=Farscape&primaryID=5&btnSubmitSearch.x=0&btnSubmitSearch.y=0
Dearer, by quite a bit in some cases. It's where I got all mine though, so keep an eye on prices.
DVDStreet: http://www.streetsonline.co.uk/common/search/fhsearch.jhtml
Gay, and dear, but *might* work out cheaper over all for you. Although I really doubt it.
Out of this lot, go for Amazon, OR get someone you know on the hype from England to take delivery of your stuff from play.com, and then send it to you.

In my opinion Lost is the show that you can't just watch any episode and pick it up. Like you have to watch from episode one and go on from there, get the whole story...
unlike a show like the office, i could miss a few episdoes and pick up from whenever and still enjoy the show...
Lost is the show I've always meant to watch but i never got around to it. Saw the first episode and i find the show pretty cool and a nice premise.

I started watching Lost at the beginning of season 2. They aired a recap show before it and I could follow everything pretty well.

Arrested Development. WHich is why I'm pickin up the DVDs today
I jumped in on 24 pretty late.
I never saw the first 4 seasons. Season 5 aired over here and I figured: "What the heck?"
I was surprised. I didn't need to watch the first 4 seasons to get hooked on to the show. I followed it quite well. It just grabbed hold on me as soon as it started.
I'm glad that I sat down and watched it. Now, I have to track down the first 4 24 seasons DVD boxsets.

You should definitely check out the previous 24 seasons. You haven't really experienced 24 until you've witnessed President David Palmer in all his badass glory. ;)
