Which Marvel characters should NOT have been killed off for good?

Personally, I would have preferred they not have killed off Mondo of Generation X. And I'm not talking about the AoA Mondo, the 616 version. You could see that he had a lot of potential, he was a minority (Samoan), which was rare in itself - especially in the Marvel universe, and he could have conceiveably been an Alpha or Omega class mutant... If you consider the similarities to the Absorbing Man.
The other characters I'd go with is Synch and Warlock. Synch could have been an ominpotent mutant. He developed and used his abilities with more expertise than the other students (even when using their powers) and was still very young and inexperienced with them. He became my favorite because of the potential he has. Warlock was just plain funny during his early days of New Mutants. And I liked that "daddy dearest" relationship with his God-like father. Oh well...

Besides Jean Grey, I wish Pyro, Thunderbird, Illyana, and Banshee were still alive. Then in the Ultimate universe I wish they hadn't killed off Gambit and Beast.

Well those characters out of your list, plus Moira, Synch, and the mutant students on the bus from New X-Men Academy X. It was a waste of so many characters that would have been interesting additions to the X-World.

They've been around probably longer than you and I have been alive. Still, fans always get what they want if they throw enough tantrums... Regardless of how a writer brings in a realistic scenario, like death.

It only makes it harder for that poor soul (the next writer) to find a way to resurrect those characters. Then fans get pissed at HOW the character came back to life...

Yeah.. i think its how they come back. I couldnt believe anybody could would actualy bring back Bucky, but Winter Soldiers introduction was pretty damn cool.

Synch- Had the potential to be an omnipotent mutant. Not many understood his power and just labeled him as a mimic. Only his creator new his abilities. Here is a quote from a Generation X book the creator wrote:


Everatt was Synch, who could cast an aura of synchronicity that allowed him to get on the physical vibratory wavelength of pretty much anything you can see, hear, touch, smell, or think about. He was like a matter-hacker, able to use his aura like a computer uses a modem to get into the system of objects outside himself and program them at will.

I think they could have done more with him instead of killing him off.

Still, they would have been some pretty cool permanent characters in the Marvel Universe... Especially if they were around today. Imagine what they could have done with their powers if given to the right writer.
