I think Hatcher and Kidder both did a wonderful job playing the character, but Kidder may have been just a tad to rough around the edges. I couldn't really see Superman/Clark's attraction to her.

Hatcher was rough too, as Lois is, but she was till sweet and girlie just enough to justify Superman/Clark's crush on her. Plus Hatcher's Lois liked Clark, not just Superman. That made for a better storyline in my opinion.

Yeah, I've always felt the same. Lana in Superman III seems much more the type Superman would go for - kind and honest and open.

Delany just voiced the animated Lois. That's not the same as actually playing Lois herself.

But she still acted the role as every other actress did. Only difference is it wasnt her looks that got her role.

Teri Hatcher is my number one and will always be.

Second is Delany since she has helped make Lois great aswell.

Teri...for sure. Though, Margot is a close second. I just loved Teri as Lois and she was way prettier than Margot even during her heyday in STM.

I liked that Teri's version of Lois had the strongest relationship with Clark. That goes a lot further for me than just some crush on a guy flying around with a cape. Plus, she had enough of the feisty Lois without seeming to recklessly throw herself in harm's way (for Lois at least :p) and seemed to care about those around her. Kidder would be second.

Also, Teri was near the peak of all hotness back then. :D

I have always thought that Noel Neill was the best overall Lois. Most people on sites like this mainly pick the "hottest" or the "prettiest"....but you have to take the whole package into consideration.

I like Noel but she was too motherly to me when i was a child. (Course the 50's is one of my least favorite decades for hairstyle and clothing--Im a student of fashion too).

I did think Phyllis Coates was great too though--she had the best scream Not annoying--just a quick pierce. Superman couldnt failt to hear it where-ever he was. :)

Being older myself....I grew up with the older fashions all around me, so I am used to them. I didn't think of Noel as "motherly" in her dress, but just another one of the women that I saw all the time. On a side note...I have met her several times at conventions, and she is a sweet lady.

I just recently bought the George Reeve's 1st season of Superman...so I need to rewatch them and get reaquainted with Coates. It's been many years since I actually watched any episodes with her in it.

To me Kidder's Lois was and is my favorite. Both Hatcher and Durance came across as annoying, *****y and almost Stupid. What I like about how Kidder's Lois was written is that she almost immediately starts to suspect that Superman and Clark are one and the same. Most Lois incarnations are are way too oblivious to the point that Lois comes across as a total retard.
To me, while Hatcher isn't the worst, she's my least favorite.

Hatcher is number one but I really believe that Coates is always under appreciated. For an early 50's woman she did a great job of portraying a modern, liberated Lois that was missed by Neil at the tme IMO. It was very fitting that Coates played Hatcher's mother in Lois and Clark as I feel they really played the character very similiarly.
