A Deadman film? Interesting. It better revolve around Boston Brand.

all they said is that it'll be a contemporary take.

Also being produced by Guillermo del Toro along with Don Murphy and Susan Montford. According the report, they hope to get a screenwriter soon. I'm hoping it's someone who can capture the basis of the character.

It should be interesting to see. I like Doom Patrol and Deadman respectably.
According to how they go with it.
I just wish would get an announcement on a serious Green Lantern movie.

I'm stoked for Deadman, but I'm not a huge Doom Patrol fan. Anyway, it's some cool news, and I'm glad that DC has some other movies in the works besides Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman movies.

According to Variety, "Doom Patrol" is being produced by Akiva Goldsman ("Constantine", "Mr. & Mrs. Smith", "Poseidon", "Conan the Barbarian" - 2008) and Weed Road Pictures. The Studio has hired Adam Turner ("Area 52") to write the screenplay.

For some reason, I can't help but feel people will compare "Doom Patrol" to be DC's answer to "X-Men". For instance comparing The Chief to Professor X, simply becuase they both manuver in wheelchairs. Or the fact that the members of the team join together to use their newly found "gifts" for good. Not to mention both books debuted in the same year.

Either way, I hope Mento is in the film.

Who do you all think would make a good Boston Brand/Deadman? Someone who can be etheral and ominous yet grounded and wisecracking at the same time.

Actually the first person that came to mind was Johnny Depp but I'm sure there's someone more suited to the role.

I don't get it?
Why are they getting film treatments, but Green Lantern is not?
I'm still going to see them, but I would rather see a GL film.

I'd rather see these movies than a Jack Black GL movie.

I'm not talkig about a Jack Black GL film, I'm talking about a serious Hal Jordan gets the ring and saves the universe film.

The best way to avoid that is to take the trippy, surealistic aproach that Grant Morrison did when he wrote the Doom Patrol.
