I thought that with all of the sure-to-be heard information coming in from comic con today, we would need a thread, and one thread only, to post all of what we've heard. As of yet, i have heard nothing; save a rumor about
Man-Spider being in the game. If anyone can prove this, or disprove it, then post it here!

Also Im kinda surprised we dont know anything about the game yet, with less than a year to go. In June 2003 we saw so much stuff about SM2. Guess they want to surprise us. Hopefully we hear some new stuff.

The new EGM issue (Sept. '06, issue 207) has a little sneak peek at what's going down in the October issue.

A world-exclusive preview of the Spider-Man 3 game for the PS3, Wii, and Xbox 360 is gonna be in the EGM October issue.

Here's the excerpt from the end of the Sept. issue:

"Black won't be the new red-and-blue until next summer, but we're way ahead of the fashions with our world-exclusive first look at Spider-Man 3 for the PS3, the Wii, and the Xbox 360. You'll see Spidey resplendent in his gooey coal-black unitard, tangling with baddies such as Venom, Sandman and more. We swing by the game's makers at Treyarchm the same gang who developed the Spider-Man 2 movie game, to see how they're reinventing the sling-anywhere formula to mesh with one of next summer's biggest films."

I can't wait for the game. I loved S-M2 for the PS2. It was a great game.

Actually, they do mention Spider-Man 3 the game in the October EGM. In the editorial, located at the begining of the magazine (Table of Contents page). The editor claims Sam Raimi requested the story be pulled at the last minute. He doesn't go into detail why though.

I'm here to share with you about my little visit today to Best Buy. So there I was, desperatly trying to find myself a PS3! I'm going to have one a week from now.... NO MATTER WHAT! lol! So there I am, in the presence of th PS3. My first time getting my grubby little hands on it. I must say it is AMAZING! The controls, including the new trigger R2 L2 buttons, are amazing. The graphics... Just... WOW. I digress. So there I am playing away, and I come to my senses. I was going to talk to an employee about shipments and such. I look up and there is a Sony employee just down my isle. Apparently Sony is sending out spokes people to discuss the PS3 with customers over this holiday season. So I walk up to him and we start to talk a bit. I tell him how I was on a voyage to find a PS3. haha. He said good luck! I know I know. So we start talking about the PS3. He was saying its so hard to get one, he works for Sony and just last week got his own PS3. BTW he said that Call of Duty 3 is best game for it in his opinion. I digress. So we start talking about PS3 sixaxis and how a lot of games are going to be coming out this next year. I was really excited by that, so I ask him if he's excited for any games inparticular. I'm thinking Assassin's Creed, I can't wait for it! Surprisingly he says, "Oh definatly!" He goes on to tell me that the game he is most excited for is Spiderman 3 the Offical Game! I'm like whoa, really? He, apparently, got a chance to test a dev. version of the game just this last week. He said the gameplay mechanics are the best he's probably ever played, getting Tobey's Portrayal of Spiderman down to the 't'. He talks about how impressive everyone, including himself, thought that Spiderman 2 the game was, he blieves people are going to see SP3 in that reaction, on greater! He told me the graphics are the best he's ever seen on the game. So real! He said something along the lines of, "If you wanna know what the graphics for the game look like, go to the Spiderman 2 scene selection on the DVD and watch the last scene. That will give you an idea on how the game looks." Then I get excited because I ask about the sixaxis function. He says there is an option that lets you press a trigger to shoot the webbing and use the sixaxis to control the direction and speed of the swing. I am really REALLY excited for this game now! I simply can't wait to hear more information about it! I just thought that you all would be just as interested to hear about it as I was! Hope that you all enjoyed, I'll update if I talk to him about it any more!

I was simply trying to share some pretty neat information that i learned about a pretty "in the dark" game. I was expecting an, "oh thats pretty neat, thanks for sharing" I can see that people these days cannot do something without immediatly being prosocuted for it... I'm not going to bet my life on the notion that you're saying the truth...but I'm also not going to call you a liar. It sounds like it could have happened. Most of what the Sony guy said, I assumed regarding the graphics but it's still nice to hear it for reassurance. I liked the thing he said about the sixaxis option, although I don't have a PS3, I have a Xbox360. The thing I'm most happy to hear is that it seems like they are indeed working hard on making the game great.

But we have to remember that graphics aren't everything. Superman Returns: The Game looked great flying around but if Spider-Man 3 is as empty gameplay-wise, I will be very sad...no matter how pretty it looks.

Anyway, good job being at the right place at the right time and asking about Spider-Man 3. Thanks for thinking about the rest of us and sharing.

Notice the system formats at the end, Playstation ( 3 I`m guessing although it dont say 3 ), Xbox 360, PC , Nintendo DS (!!!?!?), and the Nintendo REVOLUTION! I imagine the trailer was put together some time back. The Revolution was changed to Wii quite a few months ago I think!

Mmmkay! I thought no-one may have seen it since none of the posts mentioned it.

I do wish that they would release some screenshots at least though! If they are worried about the game giving away movie spoilers then Im sure they can be selective of the screenies.

I`m interested to know what the full story behind the allegation of Sam Raimi making that magazine pull its article on the game at the last minute. Curious!

Which sucks. I mean with Spider-Man 2, Game Informer had like a 6 page article about the game a year before it came out. Of course we knew nothing about the main story though, but that didnt stop them from explaining the gameplay, showing pics, and concept art of some of the in-game villains.

There was nothing on Superman Returns for a while until the news they were actually pushing the game back to the DVD release.

The movie seems great but the game (next-gen on the PS3 or 360) should combine the experience of the "Spider-Man 2 game" with HD photo-realistic graphics.....you'll feel like YOU ARE Spider-Man as opposed to watching Spider-Man on film.

Many stores and video game websites are now listing "Spider-Man 3: The Movie" game for the PS2.

Word early on was that the game was only made for the "next-gen" consoles.

As of now, I've seen it listed for:

PS3, PS2, PSP, XBOX360, Wii, DS. Basically everything...but not the Orginal Xbox....weird.

I can't wait for the game. I loved S-M2 for the PS2. It was a great game.

Ugh, it looked nasty on PS2.

The Xbox version was ok, the problem w/ the game among other stuff was that the city never really seemed populated. Plus all those lame superhero missions you had to do, saving the public were repetitive and boring. Hope these issues are addressed in the SM3 game.

i have to agree. Doing the same thing over n over got boring... at the same time... i liked em. Thats what he does when there arn't super villians around to stop. He doesn't only stop Super villains, but petty thugs too.

But they can DEF add in a control scheme for black suit and Venom (alt costumes, maybe jump higher and swing/run faster.)

Harry/New Goblin- Spider-Man the movie had Green Goblin playable. So i PREY they have him playable in this.

As for Sand Man... i dunno. If he was playable, I'd DEF try him out. But, how can he be? And how would it work with the controls?

Oh ok thanks. Hmm maybe your right, maybe these are gonna be the villains. I too have no idea who Lolita is. When I first saw Carlyle, I immediatly thought of Lady Octopus, but her name is spelled Carolyn. So unless they changed or spelled her name wrong, maybe there d-list villains.

Well this is nothing new on the game but for those who wish to know, GameStop are taking pre-orders for Spider-Man 3 and those who pre-order early will recieve a Spider-Man 3 movie poster (you'll see it if you walk in the store, but there's nothing on it on GS' website, at least for now).

It says they'll have the posters in store on February 20th or 20 something. I haven't pre-ordered yet as I was gonna ask about the PC version but they only seem to have the console and handheld versions in their systems at the moment.

Because Activision just added a ****load of other villains to the list. He didn't get to see when it just had Lizard, Carlyle, Shocker & Scorpion as the extras. I think Activision just put up those names to make people think that they aren't having them in the game, just using them to attract people searching for anything Spider-Man related.

I suggest you reserve it at gamestop because EB games doesn't take new released games out of the boxes until 2:00 in the afternoon. gamestop takes them out as soon as they get them which is why I reserved it at gamestop. you guys can reserve it at EB games if you want though. thats just what the EB games where I live does.

Not every floor, but on a few. From the stuff I've seen in "Dead Rising" and "Gears of War" it's entirely possible, especially after playing "Saint's Row" too.

I'd like as much interaction as possible and all the wishes and things we came up with on this board during the months leading up to Spider-man 2 were amazing and can actually come to frution on this system.

just thought this is interesting in the keyword list in the html of the official site it lists these enemy characters(tho on the spidey's web site they said that these arent the list of characters in the game, i find it odd that more than half of the characters names in this keyword list have been confirmed in the game).:

Lizard, Kraven, Electro, Rhino, Kingpin, Sandman, Lolita, Carlyle, Venom, Goblin, Scorpion

I feel ashamed cuz I have no idea who or what lolita is
