According to the article, it was Granov who didn't like using the triangle.

Speaking of his design work, Granov said that he chose first-off to make sure that the armor had a circular light on the chest, since the triangle never worked for him. Granov also praised Favreau for turning to comic book fans in making the film, something that's rarely seen.

However, Favreau did speak about which emblem he'd use before.

Here's Jon at the Panel after he cracked a Zathura joke. He was like where were all you guys last year at the Zathura panel. LOL FYI the guy next to him is Louis Leterrier the new Hulk director. Avi & Ari Arad were next to him as was Edgar Wright (awesome guy) and Kevin Feige at the other end.

No mention of casting except a fan telling Favreau he wanted Matthew Fox. Fav's just smiled. Oh what was real funny is a fan told Louis Leterrier that he wanted Sean Bean for Abomination. Leterrier laughed and said "Hasn't he played enough villains? That's type-casting."

I also liked one thing Edgar Wright said of the fighting scenes in Ant-Man. He's gonna have scenes where Ant-Man (while in mid fighting) will be shrinking or getting bigger creating all sorts of issues.

I'm not really an iron man fan(I only like him in the avengers really), but this looks very promising, although I doubt he'll look that dark and awesome all the time, I think when we see him flying around in broad daylight, he won't be quite as cool, but that is one awesome looking poster!!!

Agreed on multiple counts:up: I think this is a protytpe as they say but the film armour won't be much different especially when they see the hugely positive reaction it has gotten

When on stage Adi Granov said he changed the chest plate back to a circle because he felt that...that was Iron Man's look. Also he's going to show the evoloution of the armor because when Stark is in captivity trying to escape Afghanistan he clealry couldn't make a state of the art weapon with his resources there. He also said towards the end and in future sequels it would evolve into more of a war machine type weapon. Iron Man's main armor will be the red & gold that we're accustomed to influenced by Adi Granov.

Wow. I know this isn't final but if the final version looks CLOSE to that.... this will be awesome. I too follow Iron Man mainly through his involvement in Avengers but this.... whoah.

If this came out a good couple of months earlier we could cut off the 'Stark Industries' bit, stick it on the X-Men 3 forums and get them all excited about seeing a Sentinel :p But seriously, despite the resemblance to a Sentinel (or maybe BECAUSE of it) this rocks

Good move. Of course contemporizing the armor is necessary, so the more accents and nuances that are reminiscent of the original design, the better. Upgraded, but familiar. :up:

That poster looks great. It does look like a sentinel, but that may be because of the angle of the shot and the dark atmosphere of the pic. It looks very cool.

I am impressed with the poster, I thought they wouldn's how as much of the armor as they did, I like the circle on the chest, much more classic, that way he don't hear the Superman fans saying he's a rip off with the Triangle on his chest.
Now all I need is one of the posters to hang in my room.

Maybe not be noticable by first glance but this is quite a bit lightened up, you can see the face a lot better. Looks like it has some form of the points from the first revision of his suit (which is awesome i always thought the spike things looked cool)
