He's perfect for Howard Stark, but not Tony, way to old for the part.

Y'know, Tom Selleck would be perfect for Iron Man.
Now excuse me while I go buy a copy of Prince's newest album on cassette tape.

He'd be perfect 25 years ago, but I voted that he was perfect anyway.

I'm still holding out for the 8-Track cartridge.
Tom Selleck is a great actor and I'm a big fan. That's why I had to vote "yes" but even I don't think he'd be right for the part.
Marvel should use him in something. He doesn't look 61 at all. If Sam Elliot doesn't return for Hulk, he'd be a good Thunderbolt Ross.

He's too old. That's the ONLY problem. So.....unless they've found the Foutain of Youth, I don't think he's the right guy to build this franchise around.
Selleck is way way to old for Iron Man, now he can play Tonys father ofcourse.

^That's about the only role I could see for him in this movie. He could be good as Howard Stark, even if it is just a small role.

Iron Man is a 30 some year old industialist alcoholic. Get an actor like that to play the part!

He's essentially the same age as Bruce Wayne. I'm hoping for another great choice like BB pulled off with Bale.

The reason why I said Tom Selleck would be perfect is because he doesnt look at all like a 61 year old! He is ageless!! He looks like he's in his 40's! And he would be able to pull off the whole alchoholic thing, HE IS THE PERFECT IRON MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thank everyone who agrees with me.
Tom Selleck for Iron Man!!!!

After seeing Timothy Dalton in the Rocketeer I always thought that he would have been the perfect Tony Stark, just a shame that he's too old for the role now!

selleck-- maybe Tony's dad.. same goes for Dalton.. it would certainly help to have some big names in the film-- if-- IF-- they go with an unknown/little-known for Tony..

Dalton would've been the man for the job had IM hapenned in the 80's.
Selleck, even back in the day, never struck me as a good Tony Stark. He's not suave enough, he's more rough and tumble. In his heyday, I could've seen Selleck as Fury quicker than Tony.

I just realized how awesome this thread is simply because it's titled "Tom Selleck".
More threads should be titled "Tom Selleck". IMO, at least.

Tom Selleck? he's an old fart now.
Timothy Dalton would've been the ultimate Stark in his younger days, just watch the movie Rocketeer.
