Transformers 15dvd collection tin

Ok .. I wanted to get some feedback on this, I am considering buying it. See, I once had the whole series in the dvd sets, from the US, but had to sell them. I am thinking about getting them again, however, since they are out of print, they are a bit pricey. So I was searching EBay and came across this dvd collection tin that is 15 dvd's. plus some other stuff. They are being sold really cheap... thing is, they come from China.

Now it says they are new and sealed and REGION FREE. It looks really cool and I am really close to buying it. I just want to see if anyone here has it and, if you do, what you think of it. Here are some pics of it. Just want some feedback. Thanks!

I picked up that DVD set last month, and I was worried about ordering it from eBay as well. Although, when I rec'd it, everything worked fine and dandy. That being said, I've only watched the first four DVDs. Even though the menus are in Chinese characters, they are super easy to navigate and I haven't had any problems. It was sealed, and yes, the discs are region free. When you play the discs, you just have to change the audio to "English" and you're good to go. Hope this helps.

What worries me about some is that they have them listed for Buy It Now at like $7! I am amazed. Sure, shipping is like $40 ... but still.

The seller's name was "emaimai49," and he was located in Flushing, NY. The brown wrapping paper that he wrapped the DVD tin had Autobot and Decepticon logos on it, which was cool as hell. I think I ended up paying like $60 US or so for the set.

I would totally spend more money, and get the collector tin, 15 DVD edition as opposed to the 25 disc edition w/Optimus, Hot Rod, and the Chinese characters on the cover. In my opinion, that one just looks a little cheap to me.

Do any of these on eBay have English menus? I'll have to take a closer look, but wasn't sure if all of the tins are in Chinese.

The language of the cartoon is English, with Japanese subtitles .... the menus are in Chinese.

I will let you all know when I get the one I ordered in the mail.

Not too shabby! Time to re-live my childhood glory days. Actually, I'm 19 and it still feels like I'm in my childhood.... lol

I just received mine today and am very pleased. I got it for about $10 US dollars and shipping was about $37. Still a hell of alot cheaper than the US sets. And this is all in one tin.

There are subtitles in Chinese, but you can take them off. I did it by using my remote for the tv, just changed the settings. There is one disk of just extras. It is all in Chinese though, so is all of the text on the discs. If you look around a bit, you can find the menu to choose the episodes or just play them all. I dont think there is an option to change the text to English. Once I have the time, I am going to see what else is on all the discs.

The seller I bought this from sent it fast. I won the item on the 20th and just got it today. So that is fast from China. And the set was not damaged at all. It is awesome! I could not be happier!

I got my set the other day, and it rocks. Except my key ring is orange with white text and white autobot insignia. It isn't like the black one pictured above.

The art work on each page of the DVD book is great too. But the pages are a bit hard to turn.

I just saw these on eBay and was thinking of picking them up as well. This may be a stupid question, but is the English audio track the US dub that was shown in the 80's or is it a different English dub with different voice actors?

I'm sorely tempted to order this set [I first saw it listed on Amazon through some of the independant sellers, although currently sellers have them at much higher prices]. But then I remember the reports that Sony's home video division picked up the rights [hence their upcoming release of the movie] after Rhino lost them and is probably working on all new home video sets to release starting sometime next year.
