View Full Version : Dont you think we need more Women in this film?
K I love BB ofcourse but I'd like the sequel to have 2 leading females roles in the film, otherwise it turns out to be a an all male cast.
It doesnt even have to be a love interest for Bruce Wayne, im thinking keep Katie Holmes and have her killed off and introduce another character.
I think alot of you would agree that it only seems right to intoduce Talia!!!
I would say Harley Quinn too but I think she shouldnt come untill Joker's been around for a while so maybe the 3rd movie.

ahhh, as long as Alicia Silverstone and Nicole Kidman are no where in site, I'm fine with Women getting more of a starring role...... Katie is okay, she didn't do a bad job, but was just out performed by the other actors, I mean come on guys, were talking about Bale, Oldman, Freeman, Caine, Murphy, and Neelson, they are all superb actors, anyone next to them looks bad....

Exactly. I thought the same thing. He doesn't have to be a sidekick, but an aide, the way that Fox helped him with Batman's arsenal, he could scout around and Barbara can be like the Oracle version of herself. Of course I would love to see Robin and Batgirl but most people don'e want them, I at least want Richard(I hate when they call him Dick) and Barbara in the universe.
Maybe they should have them in the third one. This is still BB so Batman has just become a hero.

Ironic you should mention that. The idea of not having a love interest, was only brought up depending IF Holmes didn't return. Instead for the sequel, it would only be a female lead. The Dawes character doesn't have to necessarily be killed, in order not to have her. All she has to do is leave Gotham on her own terms, for whatever the reason.
And yes. Harley should come in, if ever there is a third. Depending if Dr. Harleen Quinzel is used for the sequel before that transition. Either way, if Harley makes her debut onscreen, it's a must for her to call Joker "puddin" or "Mr. J," as depicted in BTAS.
Talia on the other hand, is another story. She could be in the sequel looking for her revenge on her father. While seeking the chance to pay a visit to Bruce as Batman, she ends up developing feelings for him. (As Bruce Wayne) Without actually knowing he was the last person to see Ra's, or who he REALLY is. It would be interesting, if done and taken correctly.
However, if infact Dawes doesn't return, then that would be a great chance of introducing Selina Kyle. Whether it would be toward the end, or Selina actually being the new love interest. But not Catwoman. She should be saved.
Ducard was an actual character in the comics and was seperate from Ra's correct?
Yes.

No, that's the new Batwoman. As of now in the comics, Cassandra Cain isn't Batgirl anymore. And I'm not one bit pleased with this "new direction" she's taken. Or how she's being written.
Anyway, Batgirl shouldn't make an appearence in this franchise. Unless Nolan has plans of using her. However, I would'nt mind seeing Barbara as a young child.

Ducard first appeared in Detective Comics #598. Bruce met him in Paris, and like in the movie, Ducard trained him. Also like in the film, this took place during Bruce's trip around the world. Ducard had keen detective skills and managed to pass what he knew to Bruce. He was also a formidable martial artist and was known for his hunting skills.
Much later in the comics, it was revealed that he was secretly working for a group of criminals.

Agreed. We don't need an exact copy of B89 where he wanted to reveal himself to Vicki. Before Joker came ringing at her door. From a certain degree, the only reason I wouldn't mind Holmes coming back was for continuities sake. Her role in Begins wasn't all that big, and toward the end she was written as if she almost had no future in the franchise. But if Nolan want's her to return, we might as well see what he has in store for the character.
And again, I wouldn't mind if SELINA KYLE was introduced in the sequel. I like the idea of her making her appearence toward the end. Saving Catwoman for bigger exposure in the third.

I agree with you this, Bruce tells Vicki who really he is then in BR he tells Selina and actually would give up being Batman if Selina agreed to go with him then in BF he tells Chase and would gave up being Dark Knight again but In B&R he does not tell Julie that he's Batman.

Like I said before. The only reason I'd like to see Rachel return, is for continuity. I wouldn't like it if they brought in someone new, without a proper explanation of her why she isn't there to begin with. And just because she may return, doesn't necessarily mean she HAS to be killed off like so many want to see happen. Even if the idea of her getting killed at the hands of Joker, could be dramatic, and even more grief on Bruce's part. In fact, I love the idea of her leaving Gotham on her own terms. It could work for her appearence again in the sequel, or if she doesn't return at all.
Either way, seeing Selina introduced in this franchise, and at the helm of Nolan, we can be sure he would do the character justice. Whether or not we just see Selina or both Selina and Catwoman.
