Activision No Longer Making Iron Man Game
Source: GameSpot (http://www.gamespot.com/news/6154798.html)
July 28, 2006

GameSpot (http://www.gamespot.com/news/6154798.html) reports that Activision is no longer involved in developing the Iron Man movie game:

"We did have the rights to make an Iron Man game, but no longer retain said rights," a rep told GameSpot. "So I cannot comment on the status of any game project related to the film." The rep did not say why Activision had let the rights lapse, or which publisher had acquired the rights.

So who is publishing Iron Man? That information remains elusive. THQ reps contacted by GameSpot claimed ignorance of any such project, as did Electronic Arts (http://superherohype.com/news/ironmannews.php?id=4583#) and Midway spokespersons. Take-Two Interactive declined to "comment on rumors."

But while the Iron Man publisher is currently a mystery, it won't be forever. "Expect an announcement this fall," a Marvel (http://superherohype.com/news/ironmannews.php?id=4583#) Entertainment (http://superherohype.com/news/ironmannews.php?id=4583#) rep told GameSpot before declining further comment.

as long as Marvel still makes a videogame I'm ok with it, besides Activision has been putting out sh***y games based on movies, Fantastic Four, X-men 3

Hopefully EA picks it up and gives us another type Batman Begins gem. (not a stealthy game like BB, but a good game)

Actually this is a bad thing. Activision made some good adaptations. If EA gets this ill kill someone, if you think EA makes good games your insane, all EA knows how to do is regurgitate the same game year after year.

Hears hopin for ubisoft. the best dev out there right now.

I agree EA is lame when it comes to non-sports games (for the most part).

Ubisoft is the way to go. IF NOT, I wouldn't mind THQ since they did a good job with The Punisher.

Batman Begins, The Lord of the Rings, and The Godfather were not garbage!

Activision was the one putting out horrible movie game adaptations. I stopped playing Fantastic Four and X3 because they were rushed and down right sh***y

If ya'll think Activsion beats EA as far as non sports titles, fine I won't argue, BUT EA's been kicking Activision ass, as far as putting out video games based on movies.

They should get the developers who made the Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. I can see a good Iron Man game coming from them.

And Octoberist is right about THQ and the Punisher. I loved that game.

I bet that Activision will get the rights back or THQ will end up with the rights

Activision did Legends, the best Marvel games yet. They also do Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, which looks like being even better. On the other hand, they did Fantastic Four and Spider-Man. Could be great, could be terrible.

I wouldn't trust Ea that much to be honest.

Definitely Ubisoft are better.
