Well, our second Nolan Batman film is going to be called The Dark Knight. This has me wondering, what do we call the third? Let's assume Goyers early statement about Joker being the villain in 2 and Two-Face the villain in 3 is correct, and go from there. Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and ?????. The Dark Knight is a rather nifty sounding title, my old gripe is that it doens't leave much room open for titling the third film and beyond. So anyone have any ideas that fit with the names of the first two films?

The Dark Knight Returns would obviously be the easy way out. However with DC sorta kinda planning to do a cartoon adaptation of it, I think they might be hesitant to title BB3 thread.
Shadow of the Bat. I really like that, actually. Slightly fanboyish in nature, but not ridiculously so.

I hope they dont called it The Dark Knight Returns. I am very much opposed to naming movies after specific arcs that they aren't an adaptation of. The Dark Knight Returns is the story of an again Batman returning, taking on Carrie Kelley as Robin, fighting a mutant uprising, and all that stuff. If it doenst have that, it's not DKR.

i like the idea of not having BATMAN in the title. so something like, The Long Halloween or maybe bring talia into the third one and have Son of the Demon or one of those.

"The Demons End" - I figured they could make a trilogy out of Ra's and Batman going back to back canceling each other out w/ their intellects. Ra's could be out of the limelight for half the movie so that the other villians get their respective time to shine. But I think they've established Ra's as Bat's most dangerous enemy in the first flick. So I think he should always be there.
"I.n B.lackest N.ight" - I think Talia can come in on the second movie, have a love affair w Bruce, and the outcome can be the same as Son of the Demon. I think that would be a good representation of the theme of Batman throughout the course of time. Begins could represent the beginning, The Dark Knight could be the middle ground - Batman's coming of age, and IBN can represent the future(through batman's son).
"Son of the Morning" The movie could open up w villians coming out of the woodwork, and Batman could go throughout the whole movie questioning if this is all his fault. Then, he can drift into a darker path.
"Son's of Man" Batman and Superman.
But since none of these ****s'll ever make it (unless they accept my screenplay), I think I'll go w/ THE GODDAMN BATMAN. That would be so ballsy that it would sell for just that reason.

Seriously though, I know it's already been said by others here, and I know it'll probably never happen, but I'd really love it if it was "The Long Halloween." That title is just so great on many many levels. I almost wish the comic had a different title so this could be the title of the third movie.
If not "Shadow of the Bat" then "Gotham Knights" or "Black and White" if it can have a meaning to it.

Superman Returns was fine because he was gone. I'm opposed to using Returns if he didn't go anywhere (Batman Returns anyone?). Another lousy title was X-Men United. When the hell weren't they?
That said, I still don't think TDKR is a good title, since the third one will obviously not be an adaptation of the Frank Miller GN. My current favorite is Shadow of the Bat. Knightfall and The Caped Crusader are also not bad.
And I saw someone suggested Detective Comics. How about Detective Movie? :)

I think if anything it has to be 'The Dark Knight-something'...it can't be 'Batman'. They've already broken that cycle.

I cant see TLH. That would be random and would mean a direct adap of the comic, which i do not want.
I think it has to have something that connects people with Batman himself. Batman Begins, although a terrible, terrible, terrible title was obviously about Batman. The Dark Knight not so much unless you are a fan, but it is one of Bats nick names, so i think it would have to be something that is obviously to do with the actual character. Also Nolan alluded that TDK was about things getting worse before they get better, so 'The Dark Knight' is a very sinister title, and with that in mind
I like- 'Dark Knight Rising'. It references things 'getting better' imo. The 'Dark Knight' thing might be repetitive but i ain't got nothing else.
I don't like stuff like Batman: ........(insert random title). It's cliche and alittle unsinpired since it follows a ballsy title like The Dark Knight.
Also, why the hell would they call it TDKR? What is he returning from?

it would be cool if the third movie went into bruce breaking down because harvey dent who was good, becomes evil after bruce cause his scarring. and now he has to measure the conseq of what he is doing as batman. take the good with the bad

I'd like to see something like Knightfall, or Knight Fall, whichever you prefer.
The title would work, since the plot allegedly involves Harvey Dent becoming Two-Face.
Think about it: Batman, Gordon, and an honest D.A. trying to take down the sick Joker, increase in freaks, or whatever the focus is. Just as they have Joker captured, he scars Dent at the trial. Two-Face then does whatever (hopefully a freaks vs. mob war). Bats and Gordon are trying to figure out what happened to their friend. Plus there's the prospect of Ra's returning.
I like Shadow of the Bat too, or even a simple - Gotham City.
