At least the 89 Punisher shot more than 5 people. :whatever:
I don't know what it is about the Jane Punisher. I hated it to death when I saw it in theaters. Yet I own it and watch it regularly. I think I just love the character that much.

I didn't love it or anything, but I did like The Spirit. There were still cringe-worthy parts a couple of times, but if you've read enough Miller, you get what he's going for and when he's being serious. I think I actually liked it more than Snyder's 300 due to his retarded addition of LOTR style monsters added to Frank's original book.

The Hulk 9/10 - Perhaps one of the most underrated films of all time, this isn't just a good movie it is a GREAT movie! And I love it. Also it is very rewatchable...and I never understood the vast amount of complaints for the CGI, it was good...their only mistake was making him highlighter green, if he was a little more pale it would look amazingly awesome
K-PAX 9/10 - Very Underrated film as well. I thought it was very good. Sad, emotional, and uplifting. Also Kevin Spacey's performance as Prot (I think thats his name) was really really good.
Jumanji 8.5/10 - This film isn't hated by people born in the 90s, they seem to like it but everyone else don't seem to think its that great. I thought it was really good. It was quite an adventure and it was really fun....even when I rewatch it, its loads of fun!

Constantine - Such an underrated comic book film. And I like Reeves in this.
Van Helsing - It's a damn fun film, screw you. And Kate Beckinsale is just more than a goddess. She's otherworldly to look at, she's above beauty IMO.
Godzilla 98 - I'd rather watch this than some of that other original stuff that's terrible. Though I love King Kong vs Godzilla. Good and interesting characters, liked how Godzilla looked, I strangely thought the French thing was weird but funny. And Jene Renno was great. Some of the army people were stupid as hell.
Wild Wild West - Not executed too well, but I love the sets the costumes, just the over the top stuff in it. There's too much hate.
LXG - Barely an adaption. I like the cast alot. There are some good parts in the script. But I really wish they went for the plot in the GN which is fantastic. I was crazy for this film as a 11 year old. I did a 5th grade monthly book report on the movie novel which is better than the film. I'm not lying, I even did one on the Van Helsing movie novel.

Hell, I still have Godzilla 98 on VHS.
I even saw it in theaters when I was 6. I was crazy for it. Then I got a huge kick out of Hank Azaria just missing being stepped on by the foot and laughing about it. Him and Jene Reno were my favorite characters.
And I found it amusing they always screwed Broderick's name up in the film always correcting them. I believe that name was one of the crew guys or SFX guys who worked on Independence Day.

It was pretty cool to see all that happen on the big screen. I liked Broderick alot in it. He was funny and very likeable and that unexpected geeky hero that we want to root for. The script and him made it work. The supporting cast helped that too. As a little kid I had a crush on the blonde chick in the film, Broderick's gf or whatever.

imo the best film in the franchise it has really stood well against the test of time
the film was great back in 2000, 9 years later it still is great
Ian Mckellen did an excellent job opposite patrick stewart, you really get the feeling of a giant chess game between the two, which is evident in the comics

Nope. I also really like Soldier.
Part of it does have to do with me being a big Kurt Russell fan though.
I thought it had some good action in it and Russell was a badass. While some people thought his acting was cheesy I liked it. It was basically him having to use his eyes and face/body to act (kind of like in a silent film)without any dialogue.
Plus you have crazy ass Gary Busey in it as well.:woot:

Amen to that. I actually prefer it over ROTJ. Just by a little bit.
But it is damn powerful to me. You really get the sense that these two aren't just master and apprentice, they're brothers fighting eachother, and Hayden's acting when he shouts to Obi Wan is his best moment and Ewan's acting in that scene is great, and accompanied by Williams score. it's damn beautiful.

I view the movies and the games the same way I view uncanny x-men and ultimate x-men. Same characters, but different spins on 'em. I would have loved it if they had done films a little closer to the source material, but I always say take what you can get.

There's a handful of movies I like but others have heavily criticised, some seriously and others like guilty pleasures:
Doomsday-yes, it steals from mad max and early John Carpenter films, but if you watch enough movies you get that its more like an homage or love letter to those films and I'll be damned if anyone says the action isn't handled well. Rhona Mitra actually came across as a hard edged character to me as well and not just some hot chick who kicks ass.
D.O.A. -I'll admit this is a guilty pleasure. It's pretty perverted and pretty awful, but whatever. It's made for fun much like video games themselves and doesn't take itself seriously either. good ol' fashioned stupid fun.
The Blair Witch Project-I've always liked this movie. I knew going in it was done for literally no money as well, so I guess my hopes were set realistically before watching it. Many parts of it still creep me out, but you need to have an imagination to enjoy it somewhat.
King Kong(remake)-I've never understood people's hate for this movie,. It was expertly done and very very epic for me. The effects were great and the characters were fleshed out enough that I cared eventhough they really weren't the main attraction.
Vanilla Sky-Again, I don't get the hate this movie sometimes recieves. I'm not even a big Tom Cruise fan but politics aside, he was very good in this and actually(gasp) acting instead of being Tom cruise. Its actually one of the only remakes of a foreign film I prefer over the original, the other being The Departed.
Beowulf-What an amazing cg epic. I'm not much into fantasy, but I loved this movie. The animators should be commended as well as Zemeckis for doing a more mature themed cg film, both in content and execution.
I'm sure I'll think of some more...

I really don't think this is the case. Maybe too many trolls got in the interwebs pipes once and made a stink. If anything I've heard the third movie brought up frequently when it comes to being bashed, but I've never heard about the first one. The second one is so amazingly well-made, though, that I can see the first one being overshadowed.

I think sometimes we confuse heavy fanboy nitpicking (leather suits, Sabretooth's limited dialogue, Halle's shoddy accent, Rogue not having the Ms. Marvel powers) with widespread hate.
