I've decided to make this thread, because I loved Tony Scott's "Domino." It got some terrible reviews, but I thought it was cool as hell. It stars Mickey Rourke and Christopher Walken for Christ's sake! Anyone out there agree?

Anyway, what are some unpopular movies that you love?

Hellboy - one of my all time favorites, but most people didn't like it...
Grandma's Boy - freakin' hilarious!!
Club Dread - another amazing comedy from the Broken Lizard guys
that's all I can think of for now...

this thread is really great. I respect people's own opinions more than anything. It's not about what the critics said and what they think, it's purely about your own experience and reaction and how much you personally enjoyed the movie.

I thought Hellboy was received pretty well. Critics liked it, fanboys liked it, and so did I. It even got a Special Edition 3-Disc DVD release.

And, I liked Broken Lizard's Club Dread, too. Funny as hell.

I hear too much dislike towards Hellboy from too many people. I know of course there are all the fans (I heard lots of them at the Pan's Labyrinth panel with Guillermo del Toro). But yea... whateva tho :P

the pool of responses could be much more well defined if you said "most critics", since there's really no acurate way to know what most people thought of any movie, and there's no movie even close to most people even saw.

It was one of the few movies that from the first scene I was trying to figure out what was going on and found myself really involved with the story. The Matrix had the same affect on me.

Plus, I loved the pro-life, and slavery referenses. It was all very smart film making IMO.

Species. For whatever reason, I watch this everytime it comes on TV. And it's not for the boobs, since it's edited for TV. I'm just genuinely entertained by it. Plus the cast isn't too shabby--Kingsley, Madsen, Whitaker, and Monlina.

I have no idea if "most people liked" this movie or not but I just know they didn't deem it worthy enough to not have it go straight-to-tv under multiple titles. I just know "Captain Nuke and the Bomber Boys" or "Bomber Boys" or "Demolition Day" kicks ass. Long live Donkey Lips.

National Treasure was such a fun movie.

People hate it? That's unpossible! Well, I liked it. It's Da Vinci, but less serious and more fun.

Another one just came to mind; Fantastic Four. Sure, it's hated by many, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. A check-your-brain-at-the-door type movie.

Alien 3 is underrated. Sure it didnt top Camerons Aliens but i felt it complimented the first Alien in a respectable manner. Theres too much cursing and some creative decisions were bound to annoy folks, but overall i found the film worthy. Directing good, Cast good, acting good, plot good (but a step down from camerons titan of a film)

Id be overjoyed if Fincher came back for another. Much better than the crap were getting now imo.

-Daredevil

-Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3

-Mighty Moprhin' Power Rangers: The Movie

-Masters of the Universe

-Howard the Duck

-A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master

-Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday

-The Blair Witch Project (scarier than "Hostel", "Reeker", "Creep" and "Haute Tension", IMO)

-Open Water (you don't get it. It's a low budget b-movie. It's SUPPOSED to be bad. It's "bad" in the same way Plan 9 from Outer Space, Manos: The Hands of Fate and The Toxic Avenger are "bad")

-Men in Black 2

-Ocean's Twelve

-Mission Impossible 3

Mission Impossible III was pretty well recieved by fans.
The only reason people don't like it is because it stars Tom Cruise.

I have one: Final Fantasy-the Spirits Within.
Once you get away from the fact that the only thing it has in common with Final Fantasy is a guy named Sid(It's not even spelled correctly), It's a pretty decent action movie with AMAZING CGI.

Godzilla movie made in 1998 when he was in New York...I love that movie so much...It was so cool how they made sense of how Godzilla became big and that he was Actually made to look like an acutally over grown lizard....It was fun the way the Military tried Shooting at him but was missing him with all the rockets and actually tearing down the city themselves...I love the movie but hate the last part of the movie the bridge part..I alway change it

The Japanese version was OK...but I never actually came to like the Japanese version that much...him coming our the water and the standing on it just was obviously too idiotic...I lperfer this version much better:)

Bring It On - Enjoyable characters and great choreography for the finale.

Bring It On: All or Nothing - Don't love it but it had it's funny moment.

Tokyo Drift - I'm a huge fan of the Japanese culture. It was pure entertainment for me. The drifting was sweet as hell and I liked Han's character. Plus seeing Diesel was like seeing Colossus in X2.

Batman Forever - I still blame Joel Schumacher for the mess he made, but I just enjoy this film to no end.

They had problems but were still good. I saw someone mentioned Hellboy. That was a great movie. I don't understand how so many people could hate it. I just watched it on DVD today lol. I haven't watched it in awhile so I figured I would.

I agree about the Punisher. I enjoyed the movie quite a bit. The same goes for Fantastic Four. It's not as serious as some other CB movies, but I never expected it to be. I expected it to be a fun and somewhat mindless summer movie, and that is what I got. Maybe I just like it though because I have never really followed the Fantastic Four comics very much.

Yes, Tippet Studios rock. It's just over the bridge from my apartment.
I also like how they did Hyde in this movie. I love the concept, love steve Norrington the director, and own and love both volumes of the comic however I think the movie was doomed by conflict among cast from start to finish. The whole concept is a little too over the top for the general audience I think. But mostly, it was TERRIBLY marketed. They should have been pumping up who the characters were. No one new these were all legendary characters from looking at the trailers. Agent Sawyer? No! call him Tom Sawyer!

I think that in terms of creature animation they are extremely good. The stuff they did in MAtrix Revolututions with the animation of the machine City , as well as the work on Constantine definately makes me a fan of them.

As for LXG. I agree. The name itself LXG basically messed up everything. It was marketed the wrong way .But isn't it a Fox movie. That would explain alot :oldrazz:
And to those who were complaining about the movie not being fiathful. I doubt a movie where you have Alan Quatermain as a heroin user , that vampire chick as a hooker and that invisible guy raping women is exactly something you wanna sell to the audience :whatever:

YEAH! That movie flopped but I thought it was amazing! One of the two best 2-D animated films ever.

And yes, the Iron Giant is the other.

It's hard to judge those, as there's so much mixed criticism. It's split down the middle.

The way I see it is "screw what everyone else thinks, if I like the movie, then that's all that matters."

However, there are the few movies that are universally accepted as bad, like "Batman and Robin".

I love Superman Returns and the Star Wars prequel trilogy. Those are the most glaring examples that get a lot of hate that I LOVE. I guess I'd add Spider-Man 3 to that list.

I don't love X-Men 3, but I like it about 10,000x more than most people do. It's a pretty good action-oriented superhero movie.

EDIT: Good call on Hot Rod. One of the funnier PG-13 movies in recent years, it had me laughing my ass off.

I thought it was a nice way to end the OCP storyline. Though, it's my least favorite Robocop movie.

I don't think KK has a majority of haters.

I mean, there are plenty out there, but I think more people enjoyed it.

How can anyone quantify their feelings toward the film? I can't imagine anyone could have stayed awake long enough to see the whole film.

I fell asleep during the 'brontosaurus' stampede. I was asleep for 20 minutes, when I woke up, it was still going on.

I know this thread is called movies you love, but most people hate, I think its funny because throughout the thread you see other people love the same movies as you. So most eople don't hate them or we are that small group that does love them.

wasnt aweful just did'nt have alot of action, was more story based...anywho

The Core, Mission to Mars, Dare Devil,Freddy V. Jason,Universal Soldier, Superman Returns :) Primevil, Poseiden, Flight of the Phoenix(remake), The Cave, Anacondas,Evolution,The Condemned, Contact, Waiting, Slither,Smokin' Aces,etc..

I personally enjoyed The Punisher(2004), I liked it because the movie didn't rely on special effects or CGI in the action sequences. I thought that it shared a genuine sense of humour, had a great amount of action which varied from different scenes, etc. I just thought that it was enjoyable but also had a sense of realism at the same time.
