Who're the various writers/artists in it?

I've got volume 1, it has Bruce Timm, Brian Bolland, couple of Jim Lee pin ups, Matt Wagner, and others. I was pretty dissapointed, IMO it's not worth getting. Not volume 1 anyway.

Might as well post here - I just ordered Neal Adams vol. 3....Is it worth the price?

I bought Volume One. It has some good stories, not all of them are great though.

The Timm one is a good Two-Face story and there's a good one about Batman tracking a murdered woman, one about a guy who kills people for being annoying and a good one about a nerd who plans to kill Batman.

Haven't read the other volumes though, I thought it was pretty good.

Couple of really good stories there. There was this one that was quite surreal with Batman and Joker reading a script on a movie set. Pretty out there.

the stories are hit and miss. but its a great thing for artists to have. or just to have a vast collection of batman art done in so many different styles all in one book. its pretty cool.

A few of the finest creators in comics worked on Batman: Black & White. Those few also did great works on other Batman titles.
