That’s the US date. Everyone else will get a chance to see it soon.
An HD version will appear on marketplace fairly soon.
The commercial is a mix of CG and Live Action.
It is not supposed to represent gameplay.
It is supposed to show pure action from the Halo universe. Think of it like the Graphic Novel.
It was made by Hollywood effects house, Digital Domain.
Digital Domain did base its stuff on our in-game 3D models.
It is packed full of clues and stuff.
It is nifty.

The trailer was amazing. I don't really like GoW much, I mean its a good game but it looks amazing but now I can say after seeing that trailer Halo 3 will look a lot better. MC as a child in the beginning was cool. The sheild grenade was cool to. Maybe that is what the X button does now, but that doesn't really make the game "epic". Also I swear I heard Cortana say to MC "its time to go" right after he put on his helmet.

IMO, it would be an improvement over the previous games. Alot of people were curious about MC's past, and we're finally getting some answers. It will make him a richer, more multidimensional character. Plus, it will be a chance to see some of the scenes from the books realized in Xbox 360 glory, and expand the Halo universe in general.

Allright this is my theory on the opening of the trailer: the kid is Master Chief. That much is obvious, from the way it cuts to the helmet to how Chief remembers the other girl talking. I'm sorry, saying that can't be possible because Fall of Reach blah blah blah, that's just not being realistic. I mean, did you honestly believe that Bungie was going to be 100% faithful to that book? It's like Lucas and the Star Wars novels, it ain't gonna happen. Also, I believe the girl he is talking to is Cortanna before she becomes programmed as a computer machine. I think they are trying to build up the relationship between those two characters to make their battle more dramatic.

Why the hell does Halo 3 have so many damn Resistance and F.E.A.R. weapons?

I mean Resistance did the hedgehog which is amazing during the game and then Halo comes out with this plasma grenade that shoots out needles as well. I let this go because I heard another game did the Hedgehog type grenade as well but everywhere I search I can't find that damn grenade. Did Halo steal the Resistance grenade? Because everywhere I go to there are forums and people in magazines referring to the grenade as the Hedgehog from Resistance.

Then last night when I watch the trailer, which was pretty cool but sort of showed the same old same old. However there is that new shield grenade that Master Chief throws against the ground. Gee if you have played Resistance there is a grenade that functions the same way only is so much cooler than Halo's grenade.

In Resistance you're able to have the grenade explode into a shield that you can take cover behind and you can watch as the enemies try to shoot you only to have their bullets bounce back at the trajectory they shot at. Very satisfying to see their bullets come at you and then bounce back for the perfect head shot.

Halos grenade looks like its doing the same exact thing. :(

Then there are the nail SMG for Brutes, what the hell that’s exactly like the nail gun in F.E.A.R. where you can pin people against the wall. I know that games will take notes from each other and that they will take ideas they think would work well for their game but how come whenever it’s a big game like Halo no one is ever man enough to make the connection?

Countless of people are saying that Halo is god for these weapons when they have already been done before? Two games up above have already done them and I don't see any innovation with these weapons if they function the same way that a couple have already.

I'm not trying to bash Halo and I know that’s the way that it’s coming out to be but basically I'm just asking to questions. Why is no one connecting them? But also why is it that whenever a company that works for Microsoft does something like this no one says anything but applauds but if it’s Sony they all say boo and think that Sony is just terrible for doing this?

I'm just trying to understand this and I don't mean to troll. :(

Shields that reverse bullet trajectories? Sounds a little too retarded. Especially for a game that is set in the WWII era. Bullets that that pin your target to the wall has been done in many shooters before F.E.A.R, case in point the crossbow in Half-Life. Secondly, we have yet to see a working example of the nail SMG of the Brutes and whether or not it actually "sticks" targets to the walls or the floor or if they're just devastating, old-fashioned bullets.

D'uh. That's because no one has even seen the gameplay of Halo 3 in action to form an informed opinion on the matter. Heck, even EGM who has had a hands-on with Halo 3's multiplayer had said that the version they played was an early work-in-progress with limited functionality that was missing many features.

Halo isn't "god" for it's weapons. Halo is "god" because it was the pioneer of the standard FPS control scheme and aiming reticule for consoles. It is "god" because it was the first console shooter to be so good, so popular and so successful. It is "god" because it has an increasingly deep and highly customizable multiplayer (and Halo 3's going to knock it out of the ballpark). It is "god" because it was the first shooter of it's kind to have unrelenting action-oriented gameplay with massive environments and the best possible integration of vehicles that didn't get old and tedious even after playing for extended periods of time. It is "god" because when all is said and done, it's simply a solid, well-crafted goddamn amazing and fun game.

So anything can be good only if it is innovative? Then Resistance really must suck ass for borrowing from so many FPS cliches. So must F.E.A.R because slow-mo's been done only so many times before.

Good question. Im not a huge fan of it(i typically prefer fps's grounded in reality, ie: R6, Call of Duty and Brothers in Arms). Iv played it, i own it and i have had some fun playing online with my friends but i dont think its the greatest thing since sliced bread. I guess its so popular ecause its so easy to pick up and play. I mean compare Halos controls to Rainbow 6's. I know its 2 diff types of fps's, but Halo is just easy to play. I guess thats why it took off like it did.

No, it will include an invitation to participate in the Halo 3 online multiplayer beta. You'll get a software key for the Beta with Crackdown. You'll have to go on Xbox Live (when Bungie announces its ready) and input the key and download the beta onto your hard-drive. It's a big file, over 1 GB.

Having played, the Halo games, read the books, and both watched and read starship troopers I fail to see how Halo has ripped it off.

The only real similarities are some of the human technology (ooooh what a horrible theft) and the fact that there's a war between humans and aliens. And if it's the human-alien war that you're referencing as ripped off well you must not read a lot of sci-fi.

I don't know which Halo you're playing, but Halo on the PC didn't have Halo 2 graphics. Halo 2's engine supported normal mapping, better textures, better lighting and better animation.

Halo 2 on the PC looks a lot like Halo 2 on the Xbox, don't expect Halo 3 graphics for that one.

To get the most out of your PC, but games made for the PC, not console ports. Halo 2 is over two years old and ran on essentially a Pentium III at 733mhz with a GeForce 3Ti and 64mb RAM. Before you say "PC graphics rule!" you should play Farcry, Battlefield 2142, Oblivion and a host of other PC games that are actually impressive for the system they're on.
