So, how long until Sony copies this and puts out a press release that says they've been working on it for decades? (http://wii.ign.com/articles/725/725652p1.html)

Not as long as it's taken Microsoft to copy Sony in the support of user content. Since Sony released PS derivative products specifically for that purpose say 7 years ago.

Net Yaroze was a failure and a stupid concept. Atleast M$ are doing user supported content properly (kind of... its still not as goood as the PC domain)

Except it specifically gave the users restricted access to program on the PS2 hardware, sounds familiar doesn't it? Microsoft has added tool support and a distribution system, but it was a Sony idea.

My question is how long will it take for Sony to officially announce support for user content (instead of just saying it in interviews) and have Xbots jump on them claiming they copied Microsoft again.

Yeah, it does sound familar...sounds like an API almost...like the Visual Studio set of programs on Windows....a microsoft product. Sony copied Microsoft by using....linux. Yeah, that works :o

visual studio copies stuff people did way before for java anyway, and for free. altho doing it for C++ was usefull. it's called .net now anyway. even windows copied earlier graphical user interface point and click OSs

C# is awesome, but the rest of the suite can kiss my ass. I really should like J# or VB.NET, but for some reason I just really hate everything about them.

i know other people who can utilise the functions of the .net family more so than me. makes things alot easier for certain kinds of programming. especially network and internet stuff as the name implies. thing is to become an expert you need a shelf full of books on the subject, written with developers in mind.
