It also affects what games you'll be seeing on the system, the viability of exclusives on each system (not great), etc. It affects you, provided you're not dumb and can understand how.

I kinda suspect that Sony will take the lead by an extremely small margin. Unlike the last generation where the Playstation 2 won by quite a large margin.

Though I think that the Wii will take second place instead of the Xbox 360.

Most the analysists are predicting PS3 will still come out on top, albeit by a much smaller margin than has been the case in the past.

It's the fans that seem to be expecting a catastrophe on the part of Sony, which isn't going to happen. They have too large a fanbase, ridiculously expensive console or not.

The experts are making guesses, but note, they're making different guesses to the fanboys. A lot of people are proclaiming doom for Sony and the PS3 when it's nothing so dire. They're going to lose their footing, but they'll still come out on top.

I see M$ continuing to grow. SONY will take a hit but still lead thanks to such a strong brand image (something that wont be working so well for them in 3 years) and Nintendo to make up the most ground this generation.

Their Key Board & Mouse thing - No doubt this will eventually be "required" for future PS3 Games so Sony can try to pass on the PS3 as a Computer. If I want to use a Keyboard & Mouse I will use one on the Computer thank you very much

What Sony should have at least done is release 2 different PS3s. One with the Blu Ray Drive & one without the Blu Ray Drive. Giving customers more of a choice. As I said its not a problem with the PS3 the problem lies with Sony

No, both versions of the Playstation 3 will have the blu-ray disk drive. All Playstation 3 games will be made using blu-ray DVDs. The more expensive model will just include a bigger hard drive and a memory card reader so you can play your saved Playstation and Playstation 2 games

I honestly doubt that the keyboard and mouse will be required for anything other than MMOs and even that's a stretch. Giving people a choice between a non-Blu Ray and normal PS3 would be pointless. Last I checked the whole Blu-ray thing is one of the PS3's main features. I think we're all being a bit premature about this thing.
