I 've noticed that Batman and his world has not really been represented well on TV over the years, with the 60's show and the recent Birds of Prey show in my opinion "both sucking". Superman over the years has been represented quite well with the Goerge Reeves show, Lois and Clark and Smallville being relly good (well Smallville and Lois and Clark).
I don't really want to see a smallville type show about Bruce Wayne and i don't think a Batman show would work at this moment in time, not with the new movie franchise. So a show that i would like to see set in the Batman world would be Nightwing!
I dont think we would get any Nightwing spin off movies because we would have to go through Robin being introduced in the Batman films again, but i think a TV show could work. You could have it as part of the Begins franchise or stand alone, with the show being set around the time Dick gos to Bludhaven.
You could have all of Nightwings villains in it, Deathstroke, Blockbuster etc.... and have a few Batman villains appear who are unlikely to feature in the Begins franchise, Riddler,Mad Hatter Killer Croc etc, and a few Hero guests like Robin (Tim), Huntress,Oracle,Outsiders,Green Arrow etc, But never show Batman, just mentions of him, Dick talking to Alfred, to Bruce on the phone or hear about him on the news.
Anyway i think this would make an excellent show, what do you guys think???
P.S I did'nt know where to put this thread so i put it in here, hope thats ok??

thats a okay idea but superhero tv shows are never great shows they are just ookay like blade. Smallville is good though and instead of him being nightwing you could have it where the show is about grayson when he left batman and went on his own but whatever town he moved to batman's villians start to show up.

I'd still like to see him in the suit.

Yeah, it would be sort of pointless to say "Hey this is Dick Grayson, dressed in civies, fighting supervillains."
So basically it's Nightwing, except without the costume.
It could work. But I also feel a Batman show on its own could work (although with TAS, Batman is more than just well represented on television). Or, to stick with the particular appeal Smallville seems to have, a series about Bruce Wayne, pre-cape-and-cowl, would probably attain similar succcess. In fact, I even heard that idea had been floating around. Anyway... that's all I got.

 Besides Nightwing costume is too cool not to appear in a show if it was made. i don't think it would look silly.

You can't have Dick Grayson without being Robin, we know he was first Robin so if you got to make TV show about Nightwing least show him quitting as Batman's partner.

Well I'm not WB, then they should show him being Robin in the flashback.

I never watched BOP but do you want the producers ignoring the Grayson's Robin?

no they should just start the show off with him quitting their partnership.

I like the flashback idea. I think they should do it just like the comics, get him established as Nightwing first, then go back and tell the story of his last days as Robin, maybe during the season two opener or something.

I would love to see a show like that. In fact if I ever made a movie or tv show it would be Nightwing. There are a lot of good story lines from the Nightwing comic that they could use. It could be set in Bludhaven after Robin leaves Batman. Nightwing would basicly become Bludhaven's Batman. They would definatly have to have Huntress show up.

I thought about this a long time ago, and I still think it would work. You could pretty much tailor the series after each comicbook issue because each are just about set up as episodes. You start it off with Grayson being sent to Bludhaven by Batman to investigate a weird series of murders, which Grayson bedgrudgingly does. Then he decides to stay in Bludhaven and establish himself as the city's protector. Grayson works as a bartender, has a flirtatious relationship with his landlord Clancy...it would be perfect. It could be like CSI, Without A Trace, with a costumed hero and a bit more fun. He'd be a bit like Spider-Man, only darker. Only thing to work out is fight choreography and his roof to roof travels.
Here's the basic premise for the first arc:
At Batman's request, Dick journeys to this former whaling town-turned-industrial center to investigate a number of murders linked to Gotham City gangster Black Mask. Instead, he finds a city racked by police corruption and in the grips of organized crime consolidated by Roland Desmond, the gargantuan genius Blockbuster.
You could spend a few episodes on that.
You could always go back and show flashbacks a long the way. Maybe have Barbara Gordon could be a regular through a video screen. Tim Drake could make a guest appearance. And maybe we could hear Grayson talking to Bruce (with Conroy voicing) over the telephone. Same with Alfred.

I'd like to see a Dick Grayson/Robin/Nightwing show styled in the way Smallville was. Maybe something where he is distancing himself from his former alter ego and Bruce/Batman. But each week he is further reminded of who and what he is. A hero. Climax the series or TV movie/movie with Dick donning the Nightwing suit.
Lots o lafs
