In it's current state HD-DVD is better, but if given enough time blu-ray has superior technology behind it and will overtake it. Not sure if the difference will be worth the big price gap though.

As for the games, just like the Playstation 2, Xbox, Playstation Portable, and Xbox 360 at launch, in time they will come. None of these platforms barely had any games when they first came out. Now they either do (Playstation 2 and Xbox) or are getting them (Playstation Portable and Xbox 360). Right now the Playstation 3 has a small list of good games to come: Devil May Cry 4, Metal Gear Solid 4, Final Fantasy XIII, Resistance, Naughty Dog PS3, Ratchet & Clank PS3, etc. The list will get bigger obviously.

If you're including me in that group, then I'm going to have to politely inform you that there is nothing wrong with me posting negative comments/news about Sony in the Sony section. After all, if I'm to post about Sony, the only place I'm SUPPOSED to post it is in the Sony section. Otherwise I'd get the "WRONG FORUM" replies all the time.

I'm not insulting anyone with my posts, I'm simply expressing my view of a company that, IMO, has no concern about what its customers think, and therefore has no idea about what's truly important in a game system. There's a delicate balance between making a powerful system that can do great things and a less-powerful system that saves you tons of money. Sony, again IMO, tends to try to throw everything but the kitchen sink into its products, no matter what it costs the consumer, no matter if it's even needed, and expects its consumers to be all fine and dandy with its outrageous costs.

This is why I much prefer Microsoft and Nintendo's ways of doing business. Both systems find that perfect happy medium between powerful and affordable. Both systems can do great things not possible in the previous generations, and they do it without bleeding our pockets dry.

The news coming from Sony for the past two generations, but ESPECIALLY for this generation is getting repetitively discouraging to anyone who pays attention. And after putting up with it with the PS2, many consumers are finally putting their foot down and calling Sony out for every idiotic thing they do. Consumers are finally saying "enough is enough. I don't want rhetoric, I want results.", and rightfully so.

You want this forum to be devoid of any negative commments? You're going to be sorely disappointed. You want this forum to be devoid of immature name-calling and personal attacks towards other posters? THAT I can understand, and agree with. But don't try to tell me that just because I don't bow down to anything anyone from Sony does or says, no matter how ridiculous, that I can't express my thoughts here. As Mentok already explained, that's not quite the case, and I think this is a great example of people on this board blaming everything on people being trolls. No Zenien, people aren't blaming Sony because they hate the company. They are blaming them because they are the ones to blame. No, it absolutely is not that. For the most part, you've had objectivity and thoughtful posting in this forum, much moreso than the others, and yet still the people on this side of the fence continue to *****, and after seeing it happen multiple times the second anyone makes a legitimate comment on something that Sony has done, it's pretty obvious what they're really *****ing about. They're *****ing about not having a forum devoid of negativity. I do think it's a little more weighted against Sony. I'd say a greater number of X-Box fans come here to bash than is the case the other way around. I'm not in the Microsoft forum much, but it does seem like less Sony fans go out their way to bash in there.

I know there are some Sony fans who kick up a fuss, but as far as I can see, we don't have anyone at the level of Horrorfan, who runs around calling people retarded, stupid, and generally flinging insults around because of a persons console preference. Spong make a habit of misreporting things, they’ve made more mistakes or misreports then anyone out there aside from Gamedreamz and like Inquirer, well they’re worse then the Inquirer. Blaming Sony for Spong claiming to have talked with them is unfair to Sony.

A funny thing you mayhaps have yet to learn of the machinations of company PR in video games is that they typically only silence rumors when said rumors have caught on being perpetrated as fact, and are true (See the GoW2 situation). You’re also assuming that their company combs the internet with a fine… comb….

And it could very well be that SPONG did in fact speak with a Sony rep and he or she did in fact speak of announcements regarding the PS3. Now Spong did say something that you are, I’m afraid, conveniently ignoring, that the first announcement would be something out of left field that might bring a smile to your face. Would not Pink PSP and Pink PS2 as well as a price drop for Europe potentially make some people smile and be unexpected (pink!)?

In anycase, the responsibility in this case, falls to SPONG, to show their reporting and interpretation as legitimate, not Sony.

For instance Computerandvideogames initially reported the MGS4 in game footage as fact, it that does not in fact transpire, that does not mean it was Konami who were the perpetrators of the lie.
