Vote and post and stuff.
For me, the biggest disappointment so far has been Shadowrun. Now, the game they showed at E3 is supposed to be incredibly fun, and it's getting major improvements in a lot of areas....but it's still a crappy CS knockoff instead of an RPG, or even just an action adventure with RPG elements, ANYTHING but a counter strike knock off. I mean, why take a name that is associated with RPGs, a genre your console is lacking in, and turn it into a first person shooter, a genre your console has too many of? Monkeys are running FASA :(

Not only many of the better Xbox games don't even work, but Microsoft failed to provide an out-of-the-box solution for transferring your original save games as well. I want my dose of high-definition Soul Calibur 2 dammit!

The games really aren't that good, and it's going to be ported anyways, and it won't come out until Christmas 07 when there is a cheaper PS3 out and much better 360 games out. Wise up and pick up a Wii60 combo this christmas, for your own good :(

I will be getting a Wii though which has Solid Snake on Super Smash Bros. Brawl which is completely badass. And has the Legend of Zelda series. Another game series that I need my fixes.

Why the hell do all the Xbox fanboys think that games such as Devil May Cry, Metal Gear, and Final Fantasy are going to end up on the Xbox. It's not going to happen. It would be like expecting Ninja Gaiden, Dead or Alive, and Knights of the Old Republic ending up on the Playstation.

But it's been a confirmed exclusive

"Metal Gear Solid 4 is only scheduled for release on the PlayStation 3 at the current time," he told the Japanese game magazine. "Of course we could port it to other consoles, but doing so would require additional staff and research and development costs. If I were to make games for the Xbox 360 or the [Nintendo] Revolution, I'd rather create original titles that match each console's audience, instead of the Metal Gear Solid series."

Yeah, it's going to be ported. Xbox360 will have too much market share compared to the PS3 of 2007 for it not to be. Even in Hideo doesn't handle the port (and he doesn't need to, he will have already written and directed the game, his input is no longer required by Konami beyond that point), it will be ported.

While those 2 do annoy me my biggest problem is the lack of a standard hard drive and thus the inability of any developer to utilize the hard drive, they should’ve at the very least had like a 5 gig hard drive on the core system that could only be used by games, not for saving or for downloading anything.

No major reasons why Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance failed on the Xbox was because it was a s***y port with s***y controls (the Metal Gear Solid games are mostly built with the Dual Shock controller in mind). I don't get it though why does Shadowrun have to be an RPG just because it's based off a tabletop RPG. The only reason the tabletop game is an RPG is because pretty much every tabletop game is an RPG.
Because that's just what everyone was expecting, and it just made so much sense that most people didn't even consider the possibility of a non-RPG Shadowrun game, I mean, it's the genre MS is most lacking in, and instead they decide to do a genre that MS is already overflowing with? It was especially disappointing after playing the two Mechassault games and the Crimson Skies game and seeing how great they were online and offline, to see that FASA was forsaking a story of any sort or a campaign mode for this game, and was instead just throwing some bots in as a "single player". All the hands on reports have said that this game is amazing and a must have gameplay wise, and if they actually do some of the stuff FASA has talked about on their forums (changes to the back story to make it feel more like Shadowrun, different non-cartooney art style, graphical improvements), I'll pick it up. And on the OXM podcast, FASA Interactive said they were already planning an RPG after this game, so I mean, it's not that bad really, but still, I would have much preferred that they just forgot about this first person shooter stuff and went straight into an RPG.

If it weren't for Bioshock, I would be more upset with Shadowrun. But even so, I feel the greatest disappointment with the system right now is not actually the system itselfs fault. I'm actually disappointed with developers for not bothering to make the most out of their games, and I'm not talking about "war3 is teh innov4te!!!!", I'm talking about the graphics.

Gears of War is about two months away, and it's going to completely destroy everying out there, even offerings from Rare and Ubisoft. Rare's games were very prettied-up versions of Xbox games, which really did look amazing - at least Kameo, but Ubisoft's new Tiwak engine (why didn't they just stick with Unreal?) is really not too amazing. So far.

After Gears of War there's a sudden burst of amazing looking games, but why not before? Ahhh...

And Fight Night really doesn't count.

You know, I'll just come right out and say it: I'm a Microsoft hater. I owned the original Xbox and the Xbox 360 (if only for a short while), and I was utterly disappointed by both of them. I actually don't think he was at fault here. GrayGhost came in here with no other purpose than to troll, and try to piss people off. He said as much in his post where he admited to hating microsoft and only posting here to say how much he hates them. Why is he even in the MS forums then? Surely not to talk about how he has anything at all that's not negative, slanted fanboyisms to the conversation. I don't like Sony all that much at this point, so I don't go to there forums. If I, a confrontational internet tough guy a**hole, can do it, then there's no reason why this guy shouldn't be able to either. I disagree. I like being able to go out and just get lost in a world. I played the thing for around 18 hours without even doing a single story mission, and loved it all.

Yeah, I loved that too, but that's not what I meant. It's 3am and I'm pretty preoccupied, so I'll try to make sense, but don't hate me if I don't :(

Anyways, what I meant was, in MMO's, you very rarely get quests that aren't tied into your level, items that aren't tied into your level, or even see enemies that aren't tied into your level because your quests never take you near them. This, to me, is a problem because it kills immersion and it kills my desire to go out and explore. Oblivion also had problems that killed immersion and the desire to explore, things that I feel are essential to a good RPG. For example, the enemy level scaling, the fact that you couldn't get certain quests until certain levels (daedric quests for example), the loot scaling (which killed the Thief class), the fact that NPC equipment would scale up with your level even to the point of most NPCs wearing supposedly rare and expensive items like glass or daedric, all killed immersion, and it killed the desire to progress through the game because you would never find enemies any easier or harder than what you had now, and you would never find loot noticeably better or worse than what you already had as well. As for exploration, the total lack of hidden treasure (in Morrowind you could find awesome artifacts, great loot, etc, at any level, it just depended on your own personal luck) and the total lack of environment variety (forest....more forest....some more forest...oh look, more forest) helped kill any desire I had to explore the game world. It really was a great game, and I had fun playing it (I'll probably be playing it for the rest of the night here shortly), but I mean, compared to Morrowind I was very disappointed in it, because it lacked a lot of the "magic" and fun stuff that Morrowind had. It's great to be a Thief if you know the best towns to do. And actually play it life one of the Thief games (jumping from rooftop to rooftop) and the stealth was actually usable in Oblivion.

You see....that's the great thing about me....I don't care who started it if both are obnoxious.....if he hadn't retaliated with his repulsive comments, then he wouldn't have been reprimanded...only Grey Ghost would have been talked to. I constantly tell people.....all arguing does is get both parties in trouble.

If someone comes in and tries to start a fight....what do you think is the absoulte best way to tick them off is......to ignore them.....not fight, because that's what they want....ignore and report....then only one person gets reprimanded....if a bunch of people start mouthing off....a bunch get reprimanded....simple math.

But I cannot help but feel that I did no wrong, especially when this topic is called "Biggest Disappointment So Far" and especially when I was expressing my thoughts without ignorance and hostility to other posters, which, in my opinion, is "trolling." Negative comments are part of the discussion, and in my opinion, do not cross the line especially when the thread is negative in nature to begin with. I did not have any intention of rattling posters, I only wanted to further the discussion by saying that I'm not too fond of anything Microsoft has to offer. If you take that personally, you need to reflect on why criticism of a game console is offensive to your person. Furthermore, I even apologized for seemingly provoking THEIR rude remarks.

And Horrorfan, I actually don't get offended. But it is those types of comments which drag down a community forum. That's why I reported him.

You see....that's the great thing about me....I don't care who started it if both are obnoxious.....if he hadn't retaliated with his repulsive comments, then he wouldn't have been reprimanded...only Grey Ghost would have been talked to. I constantly tell people.....all arguing does is get both parties in trouble.

If someone comes in and tries to start a fight....what do you think is the absoulte best way to tick them off is......to ignore them.....not fight, because that's what they want....ignore and report....then only one person gets reprimanded....if a bunch of people start mouthing off....a bunch get reprimanded....simple math.

See, I would buy that if you had said anything at all to Grey Ghost in public about it. It seems to me that you telling...I dont remember who it was, but whoever made the "die" comment to knock it off here on the boards, and privately telling Grey Ghost is a double standard. Also, I've seen many a people on these boards tell others to f off and die, so I don't see what's so special about GG doing it.
