Both suck...and you spelled the names wrong. It's Fall Out Boy (singular) and Linkin Park. It's not an -ing word. It's a spelling variation of Lincoln. But if I had to choose which band sucked least I'd say Linkin Park.

That's what I've always thought. In fact, I began losing my faith in Guitar World as a reputable guitar magazine when they began to feature Good Charlotte. I realized that they were trying to pander to all the middle school kids whose parents bought them way too expensive guitars. Linkin Park does have certain boy band elements though I must say.

I have a few really awesome issues of Guitar World. I used to have one with a whole story on Jimmy Page. I can't find it, but it was so awesome.
But yes, they suck now because their target audiences are kids my age (15) who think that if a song is played on the radio and because it's popular, it's automatically good, but do not care about whether it has any substantial artistic value.

Well, I didn't subscribe to it, but I do have a few issues. My favorite, which I no longer have, was an interview with Keith Richards celebrating the 40th anniversary of The Rolling Stones, and it was fabulous. One of the best things I've ever read.

Yes, but there's so many new bands that go about it, in such a contrived fashion. Half of them are just singing about this kind of stuff because it's popular and easy to cash in on depressed teenagers.

I don't think that Linkin Park is one of those bands. Their lyrics do have emotional content, and its far more than 'I'm going to cut myself because I'm grounded'. There are many of us who's lives have sucked and music can help us move on. I also tend to like the instrumentals.

Technically he probably was but I don't think he was the right fit for the Stones, and apparently neither did they or him, as he was only on Exile on Main Street, right? Anyway, the only person besides Keith Richards who does a better Chuck Berry is Chuck himself.

Mick Taylor was on Let It Bleed, Ya-Ya's, Sticky Fingers, Exile, Goat's Head Soup and It's Only Rock N' Roll. I think he fit well with the sound the band was trying to capture at that stage in their career. And he played on so many of the classics ("Brown Sugar", "Tumbling Dice", etc.). His three minute solo on "Time Waits For No One" is ethereal.
As for Chuck Berry, I think Keith is one of the few who can do Chuck justice, but to say he's better is a bit of an overstatement, simply because Chuck was so important in the development of rock and roll.

my fave band in LP.. and fallout boy cannot and should not even be compared. differnt kinds of music whereby one of them actually puts out a great effort where their musical talent is appreciated..while the other cashes in on whatever is popular for the momment.
LP is about the fans and has nothing to do with killing ones self over a dead girlfriend for example. breaking the habit, one of their singles, was written and created for the fans based on a huge number of people who sent countless emails of their crappy lives, be it regarding drugs, cutting themselvs, or being dumped cheated on. watch he video and listen to the lyrics, and they are quite powerful. they sing and rap about emotional kind of stuff much of the time. but they are either stating facts or retelling an expereince, or putting words of strength in a song people willing to listen to... don't care what most of you think about the band, but if you followed them as closely as i do.. their history.. even if you hate the music.. youd appreciate what they are doing.

I don't need a reason to dislike something if it is not to my taste. All opinion is subjective. you said a lot of nothing right there.
why?
let me explain something to you..
everyone has an opinon. opinions are like buttholes, everyone has one. the differnce in taking one's opinon into account is how they back it up. not prove why they are a certain way but merely state reasons why they FEEL it is that way, if i dont agree, thats perrogative, but at least i know your not a jerk off who thinks his word is law simply because it's his word and he's entitled to it.
So i like LP for these reasons... blah blah blah... reasons.. mind you that are more than.. "because they are good" or "because i like them" or "because their music is good." the last one sounds like it would make sense, but what defines music as good in your opinion then? at that point, you would begin to say i think good music is this. by all means, do not state what you think bad music is, because then you look like a frekin wanker. catch the drift im setting?
so no, "they suck, it's my opinon" is invalid because it's immature on so many levels of which i won't get into, and because anyone can say that.
in a presidential debate, every politician would simply say
"i think (opponent) is dumb. and thats all there is to say"
and people will roar with happiness and pat him on the back whispering words of encouragement as he pushes through the crowd. but no. people will furrow their brows and act like they have lemon in their eyes. and you know what question will follow that remark?
"but why is he dumb?"

I don't really care for either of those bands. Project 86 and Minor Threat pwn 'em both. :)

With no lyrics, preferrably.
Godspeed forever.
I prefer Sigur Ros...but while I respect both bands immensely for thier talent and originality I find myself bored with the music easily. Well, actually...Mogwai is a band along these lines that I don't get bored with, same with Bjork...although I don't know if she quite fits this mold. After all, she's a vocalist.

Just get into Led Zeppelin, kid and you'll realize which band is the best ever... I dare you to listen to the full album of 4 Runes and not get pumped in someway. Do it... I dare ya.
I've never heard it called 4 Runes before. It's either IV or Zoso.

Man, he should just get every classic rock album in existence, turn the lights down, light a candle, and get lost in a world of never ending musical brilliance.

Fall Out Boy.. On my local new rock station, right after one of FOB's songs played, a DJ called them a group of ******s, and had people call in and agree..
The listeners voted to kick them off the station.
Thank Christ.

Fall Out Boy sucks ass.
They are one of the worst bands ever, as well as that genre of rock.
Linkin Park sounds the same everytime, but they are clearly better.
