The voice part with Doug is not confirmed. They just wrapped filming. I bet they will be trying several voices. But good question - who should sign? Maybe someone from WETA? lol
um new guy, Dougie is the Surfer why woould you want to get someone who is the CGI director sign a poster when you can have the actor who provided the reference for the character do it.
Even if Doug's voice is not used I have to follow the precedent set by David Hyde Peirce and recognize that the character was and is personified by doug Jones and we will accept no others.
DOUG JONES IS THE SURFER, period

I have high hopes he'll probably do the voice, but Fox haven't made it official yet.

Thanks Hellmistress. I will definately get pics btw at the screening. I understand he's not doing the intro to the 10PM show that I'm attending but I will get to meet him after before the midnight showing.

hmmm from the blurry trailer it seems like the SFX for human torch didn't look believable enough and amazing as people say.
BUT my final judgement will be based when i actually get to see a superb quality TEASER.

Just saw it with Night at the Museum. Surfer looked really cool, couldn't tell the had pupils in the teaser. Also I think they improved on the Torch's flame effects a bit in this movie.

He's just about the nicest guy you could hope to meet. They don't come any better than Doug Jones, I can tell ya. A very special fellow.
It's a shame Guillermo's not going to be there too - he's a hoot! Great guy and disgracefully intelligent, chewing the fat with GdT is like packing a 3-year film course at college into about 4 hours - and you learn more, too!
Have a terrific evening, and tell me what you think of PAN'S LABYRINTH.

I can tell that the surfer effects are better on Torch in the Blurry one... it looks more detailed anyway/

And yeah I saw one of DOug's interviews and I always respect people who are passionate about their craft.
Fox did good on this casting. I hope he gets the voice as I am sure he could create the voice they need to if the want.

Doug Jones has not done any motion capture, reference capture or green screen leotard work on the Silver Surfer. The design of the Surfer is BOTH Practical FX (Spectral Motion) and Visual FX (WETA), and Doug has done the job on set of performing the role, exactly the same as the other members of the cast. As to the Surfer's voice ... he has performed the voice on set as he would any other acting role, but Fox has yet to confirm officially that his will be the voice of the Surfer.
But no matter what you say ...
Doug Jones IS The Silver Surfer.
'Nuff said.

Uh...Maybe that's a stunt person? I'm sure you've heard of those.
I've no doubt that Doug Jones performed all the character interaction work (i.e. acting) himself. Whether he did all the action scene/stunt work himself or not, I don't know. And it makes no difference. You think that's actually Toby McGuire or Christian Bale in every action shot you see in their films?
There's no one other than Jones being credited with anything involving the Surfer other than the effects studio. And USA Today (basing their article on an official Fox press release) specifically credits the voice to Doug Jones.
Hellmistress knows what she's talking about. We have no reason whatsoever to think otherwise.

No, but when it does, I guess there will be TONS of hi-res cameras capturing and YouTubing it. And since teasers and trailers are not protected by copyright... you guess the rest.
BTW, Fox won't be releasing the teaser in AMERICA... but have you bothered to check the japanese site of apple.com?

Arclight just updated it's site:
PANS LABYRINTH
ACTOR DOUG JONES WILL DO A Q&A FOLLOWING A SPECIAL 10:00PM SHOW ON THURSDAY, 12/28. This gothic fairy tale is set against the postwar repression of Franco's Spain. The story unfolds through the eyes of Ofelia, a dreamy little girl who is uprooted to a rural military outpost commanded by her new stepfather. Powerless and lonely in a place of unfathomable cruelty, Ofelia lives out her own dark fable as she confronts monsters both otherworldly and human.

Just got back from Night At the Museum, and saw the trailer.
WOW. :wow:
The theatre was only 60% full by time the Spider-Man 3 trailer passed and many latecomers were still spilling in when the FF2 clip--which came next--was shown. The vast majority of those present were teens, but there was a good mix of other adults, parents and some little children. The clip starts out with a shot of the Surfer zooming down into the earth's atmosphere. But it wasn't until the Marvel logo flashed across the screen, when a complete hush fell on the audience again.
From the moment we saw the wedding cake topper (with it's elongated 'Reed Richards' wrapping itself around its crystal bride) there was a stir in the audience. When the camera panned on the Four themselves that stir grew into subdued whispers; I heard several whisper "Fantastic Four", making it clear that folks definitely remember the actors and their roles even before the title card was shown.
Then it got quiet again. And it was at that point that I wished I had never seen that Youtube.com clip. :whatever:
The cinematography in this teaser was beautiful. Rich, vibrant colors and everyone looked good. The most improved? Without a doubt it's Benjamin. His suit has clearly been upgraded from that "burn unit look" from the first film, to a more traditional aesthetic--his hide has greater definition; his coloring is more of a tangerine orange--which looked great as a contrast against the "normal-looking" wedding guests at the ceremony.
The music? Perfect. Pulsating...urgent. Think along the lines of the aforementioned Spider-Man trailers. It melted seamlessly into the action sequences which arrested the attention of everyone in the joint. I loved the way the music melts down to a heart beat as Surfer morphs through a glass skyscraper. When he emerges, the construction materials around his exit ripple like water, and again the drowned music made that money shot even more poignant.
Speaking of Silver Surfer...um, yeah. Norrin Radd looks like an effing chome demigod on screen--absolutely amazing. I seriously believe all of these people whining about his eyes (of all things :whatever: ) will hush up when they see him in movement. The chase through the Holland tunnel was awesome, and the point when he turned upside down and coldly stared Johnny down showed he was totally in control--and unconcerned about Johnny's little "pursuit." In just seconds, his facial expression gave me the feeling that he viewed Torch as nothing more than a pesky insect to be swatted away condescendingly. And when he grabbed Johnny by the throat the guy next to me said "Whoa...sick!" And dude wasn't the only one blown away, because by time the Silver Surfer had dragged Johnny with him to the heavens, latecommers--who had yet to even find a seat--had also stopped in their tracks in the fricking aisles to watch. The sequence was simply that good.
To be frank with you, I'm finding hard to believe that Tim Story has created this. :o It just....feels different. For those of you who have been on this board since the beginning, you'll recall I was one of Tim's biggest supporters the first go 'round, but was somewhat dissillusioned with much of what was done (especially the editing job). And despite set reports, etc., up until today it's been hard for me to get my excitement up for this sequel. However, I'd be lying if I didn't tell you all that I'm officially impressed and stoked now.
The "sitcom" feel from FF1? Gone. In its place? A distinct epic flavor--at least in this trailer. The action sequences and the overall framing had a sense of style--it had flair. And the tone of the entire clip is definitely grimier...edgy even. And that's a good thing. With the exception of Johnny's "But I just got this tux" wisecrack, there is no cheesiness to be found here--something that even the first film's trailers couldn't hide. This one was serious...darker.
When it was over, there was a lot of buzzing amongst the audience and not a few "schweets" mixed in too. It was by far, the most well-received trailer save the aforementioned Spider-Man 3 clip. :hyper:

I for one am excited to see if they manage to pull a turn around with this one. The only film series I've seen do that is the X-Men movies. Where X1 was good, but X2 drastically improved upon some of the action and tonal flaws of the previous film. Hopefully, F42 will do the same, although I am just so distrustful of Fox overall -- Arad especially -- after X-Men 3.
The set visits were misleading.
The interviews were misleading.
The marketing was misleading.
The trailers were misleading -- and blew most of X3's good moments (as did the trailers for F4).
The screenwriter forums were misleading.
And even the post-DVD stuff was misleading.
Fox really just has lost all shame and I'm highly skeptical of anything coming out of that company anymore -- it's sad, in an attempt to bolster one property (X3), Fox literally ruined its credibility to effectively bolster another franchise that could be shaping up to be good. Reading both here and X-Men boards, a general feeling amongst fans towards Fox and Avi Arad is not a pleasent one -- it's inherenetly distrustful and almost, if they say one thing, we'll believe the opposite.
I just hope this works out for the fans because, well...Chris Evans if f-ing gorgeous, I've been falling ofr the F4 mythology, and the Silver Surfer just seems like such a cool cinematic concept.\
But trailers are so misleading nowadays. We were all WOW'ed by the X3 trailers and in the end, the movie produce something approaching lackluster. So I'm just hoping some of the assertions you make about the sitcom feeling being gone and stuff are accurate, and not just the result of careful, misleading editting. But I'd have to say that Ben crying, Johnny's joke, and the elongated arms of the wedding statue whisper cheese to me...
Let's hope not!

From what I recall it was nowhere near that level.
Besides, people crying at weddings is not only normal, but it's also commonplace--even for the most "macho" of men. I shed a tear or two at my own wedding...I was just blown away at the sight of seeing my wife come down the aisle. Wasn't expecting that emotion, and I'm 220 lb bodybuilder...:o So go figure...emotions get the best of people...and Ben looked fine.

Let's hope so. For all we know, Johnny could reenter the earth's atmosphere over fricking China or somewheres. :wow: After all, it's not like the Surfer was concerned with releasing him directly over his hometown. He just dragged a man into outer space to get rid of him! LOL
Johnny will have to flame on in order to get through the heat of the planet's atmosphere. But how will he be able to do so with no oxygen--not to mention breathe???

But I'd have to say that Ben crying, Johnny's joke, and the elongated arms of the wedding statue whisper cheese to me...
Ben's sniffling is straight from the comic. He is hardly "crying like a schoolgirl on helium" as one poster put it.:whatever:
And people have custom wedding toppers made all the time. Why wouldn't Reed's figure be stretching around Sue?
Apparently the definition of "cheesy" has changed dramatically.

Johnny will have to flame on in order to get through the heat of the planet's atmosphere. But how will he be able to do so with no oxygen--not to mention breathe???.

Why does no one notice Bruce Wayne's finances and their link to Batman?

There's no myster here. Johnny will survive the fall. The question is how and there's no flying superheroes that could be up there to save him that fast, and I doubt the Fantastic would be ready in time to go and save him. So the only possible answers are:
a) Johnny re-ignites and the surfer vanishes for the time being.
b) The surfer realizes what he's done and decides to zip down and save him before moving on.
Part (b) above could be the first sign that the Surfer's emotions are gonna get in the way of Galactus' plan.

Why does no one notice Bruce Wayne's finances and their link to Batman?

As much as this franchise sounds like its getting an act together for the characters sake. I can see something hollywood happening. Like the fantastic fours mobile. It would catch johnny when he free falls. Then he just hits hard and on to a new scene where we see them discuss who that was. :ninja:

Hey Guys, I found a really crappy video of the "new" Fantastic Four 2 Teaser.
The Kid obviously shot it with a camera phone and as you'll notice that the majority of it is out-of-focus it does clear up at some really cool scenes like Silver Surfer puttin the choke hold on ol' Johnny.
Its not much but its something and I am surprised Fox hasnt taken it down so watch it while you can but never fear I'm sure more people will be posting more videos of the teaser. God Bless the Camera Phone!!!

Evan Almighty drew pathetic groans from my audience. Building an arc? It looks awful.
I snuck in to see the FF2 trailer twice and it's simply phenomenal on the big screen! (or should I say silver screen?)
The Surfer is mostly a blur but the slo-mo of him as he emerges from the other side of the building is truly a show stopper and a GREAT intro for the character. The other amazing sequence that has to be seen to believe is the Surfer phasing through his board to stand on it upside down as he looks to see Johnny chasing him.
This could be the best pure teaser trailer I've ever seen associated with a comic based film. This short teaser drew as big of a buzz from the packed house as did the full length Spider-Man 3 trailer. An OUTSTANDING first step for the sequel!

Yes, I've read The Bible but that trailer is simply awful. That's the first I heard of the plot. I enjoyed Bruce Almighty and I think that The Office is one of the funniest things on TV. I'm their target audience. So, add that up and it spells trouble for that flick.

It was smart for FOX to move this film from July 4th to it's current slot. Transformers would have crushed it.
The trailer looks pretty good and it appears that this sequel focusing more on Johnny than the rest of the crew. Or let's hope that's the case.
Sandwiched between Pirates, Ocean's 13 and Evan Almighty, I think those films will probably hurt it's endurance chances then there's DIE HARD sequel that will surely put a stop to F42 doing any better business. The week after will be the Transformers which will hog the rest of business away from F42.
This production will be lucky if it makes it's budget back. I predict that FOX will most likely move this film again or at least is should.

Interesting that you say that, because I distinctly remember some claimiing the same thing back in 2005, when the first film faced down equally (if not larger) cinematic foes than that.
Star Wars: Revenge Of The Sith (History Making)

Ok just saw Night at the Museum:
Let me start off by saying I really didn't want to see NATM but one of my myspace friends was part of the production, and 2 that youtube trailer was forcing me to see what it really looked like. I went in thinking I'd see the trailer and get sick of NATM and walk out. Anyways first came Transformers and that was one of the most poorly edited trailers I've seen in awhile and while the footage looked cool at times it just seemed thrown together. Next up with Spider-Man 3 and we all know that's great, then comes Rise of the Silver Surfer. Trust me the youtube video does this trailer zero justice. In the youtube version the sound is bad, and the surfer looks like a fake doll floating around. I was concerned. It's night and day difference on the big screen guys in a clear projection format! Wow! That was the Silver Surfer and I really can't imagine him being presented any better. However Fox and Story pulled that off is amazing. The Torch effects didn't seem finished yet for some reason it kind of looked different but maybe that was just me waiting for the surfer. I dunno. The trailer itself was easily the best trailer I've seen for any movie coming out in 2007. As far as crowd reactions it was a 5:30 PM showing so the theatre was only half full (probably people doing lots of last minute shopping) but I heard several people saying or mumbling "fantastic four", then they showed The Thing crying and I heard scattered laughter, and the little girl behind me said "that's the invisible woman", then after the trailer was done the title slammed onto the screen and vanished just as quick as it came. I heard several people say "Rise of the what...that was too fast what was that???" They should have kept the title up longer but that's the only complaint. All of the other people who described it here did a good enough job so I won't bore you with a frame by frame description but the last part when the Surfer let's go on Johnny and then kind of floats sideways across the screen looking down was just breathtaking! As far as NATM it was an really really well made family film that mixes Jumanji and Waxworks perfectly. It's worth a watch. I have zero complaints about that film. Some very funny moments. Later.
Edit: Oh yeah after the FF trailer WAS the Simpsons trailer which I saw in incomplete form at the Comic-Con which was hilarious, and some other stupid CGI cartoon.
I actually liked NATM.. I left the theatre wanting that guys job.. or at least a mini-army of Romans and a Dinosaur..

It was smart for FOX to move this film from July 4th to it's current slot. Transformers would have crushed it.
Hmm. Well, today the regulars at the comic shop I frequent were complaining about the murky, uber-serious Transformers trailer and geeking out over the blurry-as-hell FF2 trailer on YouTube.
Transformers doesn't have nearly the cross-the-board built-in audience that FF does.
FF appeals to a lot of the same sci-fi and action audience as TF, but FF is a date movie and a fun-looking, family-friendly movie.
I'm glad they're not going head-to-head because that would be bad for the whole industry, but in a box office showdown, I'd give FF2 the edge.
The trailer looks pretty good and it appears that this sequel focusing more on Johnny than the rest of the crew. Or let's hope that's the case.

Other than PIRATES, none of those films skews to FF's audience much at all. Transformers is the film that should be worried about DIE HARD and PIRATES. And HARRY POTTER.
FF2 will open huge and then play to steady, ever-shrinking audiences through the rest of the summer, just like 2005. But stronger.
Fox move FF2 again? Yeah, right. They just announced the June 15th date to the whole freakin' world.
They ain't movin' it.

Transformers wouldn't have crushed the FF by any means. Both films would cannibilze each other and they'd both be hurt badly. The new date is much better because they get a 1 week jump and shouldn't have too much of a drop off cause the next weekend is a holiday weekend giving the audience more time to see Tranformer & Fantastic Four 2. It's a win win.

The new date is much better because they get a 1 week jump and shouldn't have too much of a drop off cause the next weekend is a holiday weekend giving the audience more time to see Tranformer & Fantastic Four 2. It's a win win.
I agree.
Both of these films are looking at 200 to 300 million dollars here in the states.

I doubt either one will cross 250 myself. If they make 200 the studios would cream. I think FF will make 175-180 and Transformers I believe will do less. That's my opinion. Dont' forget we got Harry Potter coming soon after Transformers.

You forget that FF1 was apparently liked by everyone but fanboys and critics. (And I include myself in the former category.)
It didn't do over 300 million worldwide because people felt sorry for it!:woot:
If this trailer is any indication of the trailers to come, I think FF2 will easily surpass the opening weekend of FF1. Easily.

compared to a similar film with similar numbers at box office
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120903/
No, it made 300 million worldwide cause fox marketing team did an incredible job of false advertising:yay: ff's 60% fall in its second weekend proves that with ease. yeah it had competition...but it was not in ff's audience so that aint a legit excuse.
hell i personally think ff1 dissappointed opening weekend given how good the films domestic marketing was. i thought it would get ATLEAST 60 million openingh weekend given the amount of effective tv spots i saw on the tube.
it sold 4 million dvd total as of last march....aka what superman sold in a week.

This film will rock, and the 1st one in comparrision will look like high school students made it. And no my opinion of the 1st one has not changed. Ok guys I just saw it and it is the best trailer I have seen this year. I put it up there with the Ghost Rider, Spiderman and Die Hard trailers.
On its own it was like the movie did some kind of switch within the trailer and set a radically different tone from the first movie.
This is what I mean the torch made a joke (the suit) then he was hovering admiring the surfer, oblivious to the danger that he and soon the world would be in.
The intensity of his predicament was brought out in him falling to earth at the end but the reason the audience kind of new surfer was trouble even if Johnny did not is the music.
That music set the tone for the surfer, heck I felt scared for the torch and when he fell at the end it was like you felt in the comics, how are they going to beat this guy, and worse if they do, (with Doom's help maybe) then what about Galactus, I doubt that they are going to do the ultimate nullifier thing.
I tell you guys I actually felt tense watching the chase, knowing how powerful the surfer is and realizing that FF1 was sunday school and now the war in heaven was about to come to earth.
That music set a tone from the very start, letting us know that this was the herald of Galactus coming to earth, with Galactus not far behind. Even if you did not know the original story the music lets you know the surfer is trouble and at the end when he turned and looked at the torch there was an actual hush in the theater.
I went with a buddy of mine and he is a comic book purist (DC mostly) but he was blown away.
I have two questions is that music by Ottman. If it is all I can say is wow.
I am an FF fan but I appreciate effort and you can see that Fox and Story have really put in the time and are going for a home run.
Now I hope we get to have at least two hours of this kind of intensity, or 2 1/2.
Rothman old buddy this may be the motherload for Fox, I mean really, I always knew that FF could rock but this is getting serious, I think they must deliver.
If Fox handles this right they might make serious bank on this movie and I mean serious bank.

Like I have said IF everything fires on all thrusters, and everything goes perfect, this movie CAN make 300 domestic. This will be some serious money here. this is from comics2film thay say the trailer will be up soon in a couple of day's & in HI-DEF
we have been told that the trailer (which comes in at a runtime of 1 minute and 42 seconds) has now officially been completed, Fox are very happy with it, and that it will definately be showing with Night at the Museum in the US from this Friday. The trailer has been sealed up and is being sent off "loose in the can" (shipping seperately from the movie, and manually attached at the last minute) to theaters across the US as I type. If you are going to see Night at the Museum JUST for the trailer, please be sure to check with your local theater first, because the trailer may or may not be included depending on whether or not they had added it.
We have also been told that the television and internet releases of the trailer will not be happening until "at least a few days" later. This means that the trailer will most likely be available online (we are hearing it will most likely be available in High Definition!) at some point next week. We'll get those details to you when they are released. As always, comics2film.com

Sounds like Fox/Marvel/Story were pretty friggin' brilliant in emulating the trailer for 'Devil Wears Prada' via their F42 teaser.
I have a feeling that we're going to see a lot more movies taking on this approach in their marketing and promotions. It's cost effective (you just need to finish a full scene, rather than a mix 'n match of scenes from all over the movie), less spoilerish, and most importantly... it's pretty friggin' awesome. Good for F2: ROTSS for adopting this method.

Out of frustration, I might have added this to the list of reasons to keep on disliking Fox.
Because I am a filmmaker, it does make me respect them just a little bit. I mean, trailers especially go through so much scrutiny on the internet these days that anyone putting one up probably is biting their nails waiting to see what people have to say about it.
Film is a motion medium, and was never intended to be seen frame-by-frame by the viewers. Some of the old school filmmakers never even watch a film more that once. I don't have that discipline, but when I watch a film I tend to keep that in mind.
I'd like to see this trailer, but man. Props for being stuck to your guns on this issue, Fox.
It's too bad I generally rent comedies, or I'd go check out Night at the Museum.

Which was why I specifically posed the question TO hellmistress (or someone who knows for sure "what they're talking about") especially considering that this - "Doug Jones and WETA Digital bring the Silver Surfer to life for Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver" - was tagged under the pictures I posted, but hey, maybe that's the stuntman's name, too!:cwink:

It's not that big a deal. This seems very little like an FF move and very much like a Night at the Musuem Move. I'm sure they'll post the trialer in a few weeks, eveyrone can look at it then. It's jsut a little wait.

He's just Brodie being Brodie,if he isn't trying to be offensive to get a war of insults going then his purpose is lost, right Brodie ?
Rather than doing it as a genuine dick it's his gimmick
it's not a "gimmick". It was a joke. I find your assumptions of me being some kind of rabble rouser offensive. If anything, I was supporting Ultimatefan by pointing out the remarkebly foolish thinking that Fox must be experiencing in relation to the foreign market.

Which is another reason why this should have also been on the web at the same time. The web = MORE PEOPLE CAN SEE THE TEASER & maybe get a few people who has never heard of the Fantastic Four or never saw the first movie interested. Forcing them to see Night At The Museum wont do that

Forcing them to see Night At The Museum wont do that The movie is released in, what, 6 months? Clearly Fox thinks the public can wait a few weeks to discover FF2 if it'll give Night at the Musuem a boost. It's not like they're never going to put the thing online.
Also, people who feel "forced" to see Night at the musuem are already really into the movie, so I dont' see how that could count as getting the word out.

The foreign fans aren't being foolish, Fox is. In my post, I was imitating and exaggerating the thoughts that Fox executives might have had. As you've duly noted, they are silly silly thoughts.
As for the personal, remark, I can appreciate your frustration with the situation, but I'm not who you should be taking it out on. Perhaps you could build a collage to work out your feelings?

Welllll...
At least the foreigners got Fox's double editions of CONAN, PREDATOR, PREDATOR 2, PATTON and the ROBOCOP BOX SET a good two years BEFORE the USA...
At least the foreigners got the TWO-disc editions of FF, X3 and an edition of XLG with extra bonuses...
At least the foreigners got Hulk and Back to the Future with the DTS tracks...
At least the foreigners got SR 20 days BEFORE the USA, including the Ultimate Box Set with NO defective discs...
Yeah, not bad to be a foreigner, if you think about it.

Ditto and hell where i live we are usually getting the old teasers by the time the new ones are hitting the net
No other 2007 blockbuster has so thoroughly isolated a large section of it's fanbase
As much as I'd like to say this is a bad move by Fox, I'd say its a more of a moot move. No one's going to rise up against Fox and boycott (although we should've after X3 and that whole campaign of deceit). However, if they think any of us are going to see NoM because the F42 trailer is SOOOO big they're kidding themselves. F4 did well, but it in no way has the following that, say, Spider-Man, Harry Potter, or Star Wars has.
This was simply a moot move that'll put fans in an unpleasent mood and make them judge the trailer, and movie overall, a tad more harshly.
It's also a tad disrespectful and inconsiderate. Like at their website, it says "Go see Night of the Museum to see the new trailer." Even the langauge is cocky and condescending -- an order. How about, "Now Playing with Select Copies of Night of the Museum."
This is a move that in its mootness, showcases more typicaly Fox-greed, alot of doubt in NoM, and also an overalll insensitivity towards fans.

Not to mention showcasing the teaser trailer BEFORE the big holiday opens word-of-mouth opportunities during holiday sit-downs.

I felt really betrayed after seeing X3. That was disgusting what they did.
FOX was smart.. How many of you people went and seen NATM just to see the trailer? Come on.. I went, Advanced went, Lumpkins went.. alot of did, its a totally genius move I bet NATM is at least going to be #2 if not #1 in the box office this weekend just because of that trailer..
Well played, Fox.
I predict the trailer will be online in Monday.. but hey.. I'm physic..

Absolutly, positivily, without a doubt SWEETTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT. :wow: The Surfer looks total awsome. :wow: Couldn't make out the Torch's effects too well, but from bits I saw, it did not look too unlike the 1st one. The Thing was also kind of out of focus. So the only thing I can comment on is the Surfer, and words can't discribe how he looks. He looks that good. And to think they are not done yet. :woot: Told everyone months ago, this one will blow everyones socks off. As soon as I heard Surfer, Doom returning, then Galctus also, I said ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

That trailer really looks fantastic!! The Surfer FX are amazing and so is Human Torch. I have to say it - both F4 and this trailer have the best flying FX I've ever seen in a movie!! I LOVE that eery slo mo shot of Surfer emerging from that building. I'm even more psyched for this movie now than I was for X3, this time last year after seeing the X3 teaser.

At least they made the 'Silver Sulfer' part big and bold. Hopefully that's the thing that caught people's eye.
I must admit I'm pretty damn impressed with this trailer from that recent cam footage. I absolutely hated the first one and thought it was a disgrace to comic book films, but hell, if Batman can redeem himself, so can anyone else. I'd be willing to ignore the first one if this one is actually good. Cheers to the Surfer, he looks like he'll be stealing the show.

Hey GreenK it will. Even though this new youtube one is visible mostly from start to finish it looks like crap compared to what I saw up on a stadium sized screen in crystal clear quality. Unreal is the only word to describe it. I have to keep saying this film has not even entered post production yet so what we see now no matter how awesome...will be vastly improved. More F/X will be added, a score, etc...
I didn't like the editing of the first half of the first film nor did I like the score. That scene was almost perfect as it was as far as the sound but I'm sure that'll change.

How tall is the Thing in the comics?
Advanced Dark

He's shorter on film than in the comics but this is the film version so get used to it already. After the movie starts you'll forget about that part.
