View Full Version : Are they EVER making Max Payne 3?
Huh?
Stranglehold will kick an infinite amount of ass and all, but I'd still like a third Max Payne game....see what happens to the poor guy :(
I recently bought Max Payne 1 and 2....I had to return MP1 cause it's kinda ugly and boring now, but MP2...ahh different story.
It's better in every aspect, the physics are awesome and it holds up so well, and you really can't beat dodge shooting in slow-mo Woo style
Ok, Max Payne guys...finish your silly little Alan Wake game and GET TO IT! Max Payne dammit!

YET THEY ARE PRIMARILY A DEVELOPER........I WAS JUST CONFUSED BY ALL THE NAMES ATTACHED TO THE LICENSE. '3-D REALMS' IS ALSO THERE, SO I SUPPOSE THERE WERE DIFFERENT DEVELOPERS FOR THE DIFFERENT PLATFORMS (PC/PS2/XBOX). THE PS2 VERSIONS WERE UTTER CRAP, SO IT WOULD MAKE SENSE, I SUPPOSE.

They've said a few times that Max Payne 2 is the last. I think the 2nd one ended so well, they don't need to make another. They wrapped everything up so well I think it would ruin it if they made another.
With Stanglehold coming out there's no reason for Max Payne 3 except to ruin the story.

Long time forum reader, first time poster (if my memory serves me right).
As far as I know ( and according to a danish games magazine) M$ bought the rights to both Alan Wake and the next Max Payne as an Xbox360/Vista exclusive.
I'm not 100% certain of this, as it was only mentioned in a "Alan Wake is only coming to PC/X360" preview in a danish magazine, but at least it's something, right?
Sweet!
Thanks for the info Fisseruhl

No problem.
The (short) rumor regarding Max Payne 3 is roughly translated into something like this: "Microsoft payed a large sum of money for all the rights to Alan Wake, but rumors say that this exclusive deal also includes Remedy's third game in the Max Payne series"
Again: Whether this is true remains to be seen, but at least there is a rumor about a third installment (loved the first two ones).
And even though danish ( or other scandinavian) magazines are seldom the first to get these kind of stories, they are often the first ones to know when it comes to other (sadly to few) nordic developers, like finnish Remedy.

Starbreeze and Avalanche are two other great nordic developers.
Anyways, I'm a big Max Payne fan, and I love Remedy's approach to a new IP with Alan Wake. However, I think they should do at least one more original title before doing another Max Payne. The movie industry needs another revolution to mimick in order to keep the gameplay awesome.

Dont need it...max payne 2 was the perfect wrap up to the story. theres pretty much no need to continue it and ruin it.
