You know, I think if he does it, the universe might implode on himself. You have a s**ty singer, making an album of a genre that's 90% s**t...that's too much s**t for the galaxy to handle.

"It may be a disaster, it could be fantastic, but you don't know until you try."
I thought he'd hit a new low when he did American Idol; is he trying to outdo himself again?:o

Agreed. I love Elton, but he should not ever rap. Ever.

To each his own. But his early stuff really isn't soft rock. It's some of the best music ever made.

Ahh... The Joker must be one of those self-righteous "heavy metal" fans who looks down his nose at anything that's not "heavy metal".

If Elton was making an R&B album, that wouldn't be such a stretch, but hip-hop is mostly **** nowadays.
Little known fact: Elton John started out as the Isley Brother's keyboard player before he became a global superstar in his own right.
"It may be a disaster, it could be fantastic, but you don't know until you try."
Also, I vaguely remember Lucas saying something to this effect in '95.:o

What happened here,
As the New York sunset disappeared?
I found an empty garden among the flagstones there.
Who lived here?
He must have been a gardener that cared a lot,
Who weeded out the tears and grew a good crop.
And now it all looks strange.
It's funny how one insect can damage so much grain.
And what's it for,
This little empty garden by the brownstone door?
And in the cracks along the sidewalk nothing grows no more.
Who lived here?
He must have been a gardener that cared a lot,
Who weeded out the tears and grew a good crop.
And we are so amazed! We're crippled and we're dazed....
A gardener like that one, no one can replace.
And I've been knocking, but no one answers.
And I've been knocking, most all the day.
Oh and I've been calling,oh hey, hey, Johnny!
Can't you come out to play?
And through their tears,
Some say he farmed his best in younger years.
But he'd have said that roots grow stronger, if only he could hear.
Who lived there?
He must have been a gardener that cared a lot,
Who weeded out the tears and grew a good crop.
Now we pray for rain, and with every drop that falls.....
We hear, we hear your name.....
And I've been knocking, but no one answers.
And I've been knocking, most all the day.
Oh and I've been calling,oh hey, hey, Johnny!
Can't you come out to play,
In your empty garden?
Johnny?
Can't you come out to play, in your empty garden?

I think this is a great idea, and it follows the trends of a lot of younger pop stars, especially the european ones.
I can't wait to see Elton John do it since he's older.

As well as "Tiny Dancer", "Honky Cat", "Funeral For A Friend / Love Lies Bleeding", "Empty Garden (Hey Hey Johnny)", "Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting", and "Mona Lisas And Mad Hatters", the latter which has become somewhat of a personal song for most New Yorkers post - 9 / 11.
Of course, it would take way too long to name all of Elton's best songs.

Well, he would probably be the first openly gay rap artist so that would set an interesting precident. I think he should go for it.

well, I've always thought sisco was pretty gay Yeah, same here, but he's never come forth about it. That pussy. I think that Elton John, if he got together with a decent producer and made some serious music, might actualy be able to dispell some negative stereotypes regarding gay people.

:D Wow, this post manages to be negatively stereotypical towards 2 different types of minorities in a single sentence. High five!!!

The :D indicated that it was a joke and was meant to be slightly humorous. If its offeneded anyone then sorry.

I love his music as is ..Why change a good thing?

I'm black, and I didn't find that comment offensive at all. It was funny. Of course, I was thinking of throwing an overt gay sex joke into it, but the moment for that has passed.
