The genius of the 1989 marketing was no tagline, not even the NAME of the movie. Just the symbol. That was it. That's why the original DVD cover of Batman was cool - it was simply the logo, no words. Not even the names of Nicholson and Keaton.

As for taglines, I like this one best; "Just when Gotham needs him most....Batman Returns."

^^^it's not a tagline, but i like what it says on the side of the anthology collection about BR: something like "the bat, the cat, the penguin. and christopher walken." classic!

Believe it or not, I like the tagline for Batman Forever.

Courage Now.
Truth Always.
Batman Forever.

I love the title "Batman Forever" but it was wasted on such a lame movie. It had such potential...

True, except the movie was so goddamn lame.

It would have been awesome if we had Batman Begins, then something like Batman Duality, and for the third film in the trilogy, Batman Forever.

Batman Returns is the coolest title. It has so much dramatic weight.

And Batman Returns is a great title. Too bad Supes had to jock it, adding one more reason to why Superman Returns is unoriginal.
