Someone should use those :super: posters and make it metallic-looking, hinting at Metallo.Metallo should never be a main villain IMO, unless you are doing a Jon Byrne-esque Superman. In which case I wouldn't want that movie to be made.

I completely disagree. I think, that interperated the correct way, Metallo could be a great villain for a sequel.

What I always envisioned is that Lex Luthor cons John Corben into undergoing the procedure (Lex infects the convict with a deadly virus), telling him that it will save his life. Now armed with his weapon, Lex orders Metallo to get a sample of Superman's blood, for which Luthor would later use to create Bizarro for a later sequel.

Metallo, or at least the way I think he should be done, would be very similiar if not identical to his S:TAS counterpart. IMO, the Metallo depicted in that series was mentally unstable and capable of taking down Superman. However, you always had pity for Metallo, knowing that he was tricked into undergoing a procedure that stripped him of his humanity, taking away his senses.

Seriously though, they will have to make Brainiac look suitably unique and impressive as opposed to a Green Goblin rip-off. It's way overdue for a Superman movie to feature a genuine, comics-inspired, superpowered villain, so they gotta do it right. That said, you've made an amazing manip there.

it used to have his civ's over the cape, so i assume he used the clone stamp tool to get rid of it, hence the smudging.

To Boosted: Im relatively new to photoshop myself, so im not sure what to tell you. Theres numerous ways you can cut out pictures.. i take the longer (and i mean long) way of doing it. What i do is simply use the lasso tool and freehand it (i zoom in very closely). However, to save you a lot of time, you can use the magic wand tool and select the areas you want to delete (make sure you test out the tolerance first).

Also, if you notice, for both darkseid and brainiac i used toy figures. The way i make them look more prominent is through lighting/shadowing. Use the burn tool to do this.

wait, opinions cant be wrong! They're limited in correctness to the person putting them forward, so that is an invalid point.

In terms of using my imagination, i shouldnt have to. If you're going to do something, then you should make it such that the viewer will clearly recognize what it is. Find a b-movie android, something, anything, that I won't automaticly recognize as the terminator.

And ive already posted my trailer... read the thread before commenting on what has and hasnt been posted.

Lastly, you don't "have praises", you "recieve praise".

Just because you have a fanboy crush on "singer's vision" doesn't mean you need to insult people who like the way the black suit looks. I'm only doing the images because they look cool. It doesn't look terrible. Sure, maybe supes' costume shouldn't be black, but say that. Don't insult people's work just because of the color of the costume. And your statement doesn't make sense. If my first image of supes in a black costume did look terrible, why have several other people take the idea and run with it?

Nice. On the bottom one you could duplicate and flip the right half of wellings face over the left side so it matches. (Just the face not he hair).

Good job there Bunk!

This is pretty much what I had in mind when thinking about how to correct those niggling little issues with SR's suit.

I agree completely that:

1. The \s/ should be bigger and should sit higher on his chest.

2. The collar should be a little wider.

3. The belt/trunks should go a little higher on his waist.


I would also suggest that:

1. There should be an \s/ on the cape, but not an all yellow one like in the comics, but instead an opposite of the one on his chest. (The red and gold should be switched) Also it should be silk-screen (sp?) printed on the cape.

Imagine something like this but in gold and printed on the back of the cape:

2. The wrap-around design on the boots should go too. (they are otherwise fine.)

3. The cape shouldn't overwhelm his deltoids/shoulders (like it did on Reeve as well) because it makes him look skinnier. Instead it should be draped/thrown back the way it used to be in the Fleischer cartoons or even the way Curt Swan drew it.

I personally don't mind the pattern on the suit, they tend to be less noticable than that of the Spidey suit. I just think they should've left the pattern off the red bits to create more contrast. Otherwise what was the point?

The basic motif for both the comic book version (since the fifties) and the SR version is the same.

Blue suit.
Wide pentagonal \s/ on the chest (even the design is close)
Red briefs.
Yellow belt.
Red cape attached at the collar, flowing back over the shoulders.
Red boots with a 'v' wedged into the front of the top of either boot.

Both these designs have a tendency to swoop downwards forming a sort of wedge.

You can see it with the \s/ swooping into a wedge, with the briefs which form the wedge as well along with the wedge in the boots.

Therefore the regular horizontal belt is at odds with that motif. Especially with the round or oval buckle (it would have been just as bad with a square buckle)

If the belt and buckle were to be made to swoop similarly to the rest of the design elements, they would flow better.

This is the one thing that the SR suit did get right.

This is why Mr Kubert decided to adopt this element as well.

I like Jim Lee's design in terms of the size of the S and the trunks. I think he's an amazing draftsman but I'm not a big fan of the way he draws the cape (sometimes) and I dont like how he draws the S within the shield.
