If I were ever to be able to make a pitch to DC Comics, I´d love to create my own villain. It´s an idea I have thought about for a while...
Housewife - I always was fascinated by the concept of the puritan psycho, so I thought, all Batman villainess tend to be sexy femme fatales, what if one was the opposite of that? On the surface, the character would have the old-fashioned looks of a fifties, Father Knows Best kinda housewife... In fact, though, she´d be a dangerous and vicious killer with an obsession against the "moral decadence" of the new millennium. Her favorite targets would be people in the sex industry, controversial artists, rock bands, people who defend things like legalization of drugs, etc. She has this obsession with the "clean" sitcoms of the fifties that, in her mind, were the model of what society should really be. In fact, her mind was affected in such a way that she has become completely colorblind and the world is black-and-white like an old TV show in her eyes. Her favorite killing instruments would be things used in housekeeping, such as knives, cleaners, lownmowers, and of course guns, being a devoted NRA defender... Batman of course would be a target of preference, due to his "devil-like" symbology and her Frederic Wertham-like suspicions about him and Robin... She talks in old slangs like "swell" and has an obsessive-compulsive obsession with cleanness and organization, which is one of her achilles heels. The comic book cover with her first appearance would feature her wearing an apron covered in blood and holding a boner knife...

Court Jester - As the years passed, the fight between Batman and the Joker came to an inevitable end. It all stopped after the Joker had a time-bomb surgically inserted into his body. Setting the clock to three hours, he scoured Gotham looking for the best place to explode: a place where the Batman would have a hard time saving the thousands of people. Batman heard of the time-bomb, and decided there was nothing to do but take Joker up with him in the BatWing, high into the sky. There was no other option. Therefore, the explosion happened miles above the ground, killing both Batman and the Joker, finally balancing out the energies of good and evil in Gotham City... for a time.
Nightwing took on the persona of the Batman. He helped it so no one would draw the connection between Bruce Wayne's disapearance and the Batman being the BatWing when it exploded; so he made it appear like Batman had somehow survived.
Time is like a circle, and is not linear. So the same things arise, just in different forms. Harley Quinn gave birth to the Joker's child. For 18 years she trained him to be be like his father.
Therefore, giving birth to "The Court Jester." The grim smile is voluntary. The white skin is makeup. Taking after his father, the Court Jester proves to the new Batman that the Joker's legacy will live on forever and ever. Gotham City will never be free. There must always be the symbol of positive, and the symbol of negative.

Can anyone remember the name of the Batman villain that was pretty much created by all of the other Bat-villains? I think that it was during a Brubaker run and I thought it was a great idea. I would love to see that character reappear.

Can we try and sway away from "Mr. Freeze and Firefly have a lovechild and then both die in a freak accident. The child later goes on to become HOT FLUSH !" and actually try out some original characters?

I like the concept of Housewife. I could actually see her being at Arkham. Not because of "the moralty issue", but her view is to eradicate the problem or kill.

Iv'e been working on a character for some time. Not sure if I should post in or not.
The Question
09-20-2006, 08:40 PM
Charley Boy (more of a villain for Robin than Batman): A highly inteligent inner city youth, Robert Coulter became obsessed with becoming one of the greatest criminal masterminds of our time. To this end, he took over a local street gang, the Khunds (with no relation to the alien race whatsoever besides the fact that they thought the name sounded cool), and took the alias of Charley Boy, which sounded to him like a suitible gang nick name. He then, slowly, began building power for the gang, until he became a viable threat for other criminal organizations. He then set plans into motion to gain the atention of Gotham's best and brightest and eliminate them. His first action was to order a hit on Jim Gordon, the now retired Comissioner. Meanwhile, to distract the Bat Family and the police department from investigating the threats on Gordon's life, he and his henchmen carried out several brutal murders to make it apear that a new serial killer is in Gotham. The press dub this ficticious killer The Turantula, due to his MO being to kill with spider venom. Then, he lures Robin into a trap by feeding him false information about a drug trade off. Robin is greeted by several well prepared thugs with guns and is captured. Evidence is set to make it apear that The Turantula has captured Robin, and Batman and the rest of the bat family falls into a trap aswell. Chalrey Boy's plan is to have his men kill Gordon, and then kill the members of the bat family and film it, showing that he most certainly means buisness to the other mobs by sending them tapes. However, Robin is at the time being held seperately from the others, and is rescued by Gordon, who was able to defeat and tie up his assassin and get information out of him. Gordon frees Robin, and the two of them free the others. Robin faces Charley Boy personally, prompting the would be Moriarty to escape. Charley Boy then returns home just in time for his mother to call him down for dinner, and plans his next scheme.
The Question
09-21-2006, 04:10 PM
Again, this guy's more of a villain for Robin.
Velvet: Origionally, he was Frederick Tate. He lived a very sheltered life, as his parents homeschooled him and ddin't allow him to leave the house ever. Eventually, wanting to see the world, he ran away from home. Seeing the beauty of the world, he decided to indulge himself as much as possible. Basically, he's a nihilistic hedonist. He sees the world as the land of do-as-you-please, and thus, he does. He sees society and law and constructs made by fearful people, and thus has no regard for them whatsoever. Now, he's not a psycho killer or anything. However, he sees absolutely nothing wrong with doing anything. Genocide registers to him on the same level as going down town for a quart of milk. Thus, while he doesn't actively seek out to kill people and is not motivated by any form of sadism, he is perfectly willing to kill people to get what he wants and shows absolutely no remorse for it. Because he doesn't bother earning money to get what he wants, he's a chronic theif. Robin met him when he was holding up a convinence store. He escaped, and eventually formed a gang of others who share his philosophy on life. Some are murderous, some are greedy, and some are completely pacifistic. But all do as they please without any fear of the consequences. They live in a small commune in the park, and often run across the Boy Wonder when stealing food or whatever conveniences they desire.

The Question

I don't know. I rather liked the sound of it. That's probably his reason for it to, since he's usually motivated by impulse.

Dentist
As a child he lived with his abusive drunk of a father considering his mother died giving birth to him. When he was younger he would get grades that got him just passing and his father would beat him for it. His father was once a dentist but lost his license for not using the right tools for dentistry, this drove him to drinking that and the death of his wife. But back to Orinn, because of him being abused he would always be amd and he bagan to take his anger out on small animals, when his father found out this just made him more abusive and he began to drink more, he would beat orinn with anything he could find and he would constantly blame Orinn's mother death on him and told him that he wouldn't amount to anything. this drove orinn mad and he decide to teach his father a lesson by cutting his brakes so it would seem as an accident when his father's car crashed, In the end it worked as his father was killed in a car accident the next day. he was sent to an orphanage at the age of ten and didn't really mind being there. Actually he ended getting better grades. As a teenager he was constantly picked on and beat up this lead him to his second murder. killing the school bully by making it look like a sucide, no ne ever found out. Even though he hated his father he loved his grandfather who was also a dentist so he became one, he was an outcast and this kept his mind somewhat twisted and one day he snapped while treating a patient in his personal office he began to pull out random teeth and and turtured by making him feel all the pain, he knew he would lose his license if anyone found out about this so so he cut the guys throat and buried his body in his backyard. this began a reign of murder and torture.

Nepenthes
03-04-2008, 06:21 AM
hey yeah cool thread
Way before Under the Hood happened I always thought it would be cool if Poison Ivy ressurected Jason Todd herself, using the transferable life of the eternal Green or something (e.g. Swamp Thing) and reconstituing the damaged parts of his body the way she creates artificial lifeforms already. He'd essentially be a green-skinned, twisted version of a Robin; blissfully naive, happy and subservient, a parody of Dick Grayson when he was the cheerful hero sidekick. For Poison Ivy Jason is one of her greatest acheivements - for the first and only time she has created (or recreated) intelligent sentient life that is part human, part plant, and ALL HERS. This new man might the basis of all future intelligence on earth if she wills it. Creating this life makes her the ultimate Mother Earth figure like she always wanted to be.
The turn comes when plant-Jason is released from her mind control. Either he fights it out or she releases it voluntarily - it doesn't matter. What's important is that he seems to have forgotten his former life completely (the child abuse, life on the streets, sidekick career, executing rapists, betrayed by his mother, murdered horribly and slowly by the Joker...) and therefore he's no longer the rage-driven man he was prior to his death. No surprise there. For all appearances he's pretty normal, even what you'd call nice guy for someone who's lived the life he has. And now he's with Ivy, the woman who bought him back, and what happens is he chooses WILLINGLY to stay at her side and serve her desires. This has never happened to Ivy before, a man who treats her like a goddess without chemical inducement. I always thought of Jason as needing a mother figure anyway. Their relationship is....complex. He still has the powerful plant enhancments but absolutely no memory or trust remaining for Batman, no memory of former tragedy, and because of this is now well-adjusted, in control and happy. This is what Batman could never accomplish.
Eventually Batman finds the means to restore Jasons memory and identity, and he offers Jason the choice. Jason gets a review of his former life, and after much emotional handwringing he decides no, you had your chance Mr. Bruce, I like my new life, I don't even know you, best of luck but please stay the hell out of the way of me and my lady. This is the twist of the knife for Bruce. A completly balanced and otherwise friendly Jason Todd has chosen to assist the enemy; they will always be at odds now but Jason will never be capable of knowing the hurt batman feels because of it. Effectively he's still dead. For an extra twist it might be fun to make Jason dependant on human bodies to nourish himself, basically Morbius from Spiderman where he has to reluctanly break down and absorb peoples juices like a carnivourous plant. He feeds on criminals and anyone Ivy doesn't like.
yes it's a little slashy here and there but I used to think it could be the basis of a pretty good story. and i kinda based my username on it. Which was also shared by a plant creature i invented when i was 10 and also by a Maori tribal/gangbanger mutant from New Zealand for the x-men :O

OK OK HERE IS A CHARACTER I AM WORKING ON CALLED MR. MENACE...
I am writing him into a fan-fiction called
BATMAN: THE MYSTERIOUS MENACE
A failed Gotham City surgeon, who lost his medical practice for performing inhumane operations & weird medical experiments, Jeremiah King a.k.a. Mr. Menace (HE ADOPTED THIS NAME AFTER BEING CALLED A MENACE BY THE MEDICAL COMMUNITY, WHO SHUNNED HIM) went to Arkham 20 years ago, but was released. Upon his release, he became a hermit and waited for the day to prove himself once again as a competent Dr. He is a modern day version of a Mad Scientist, who wants the Joker & the Riddler, for the purpose of studying their brains… the Joker being the most notoriously insane man in Gotham City, and the Riddler being the most notoriously intelligent man in Gotham City. He believes that with the right amount of brain transplant surgery (by combining parts of each of their brains) he can ultimately cure their psychological/social flaws. He has the notion that if he does this highly experimental surgery, he will be praised by Gotham City doctors, politicians and will be respected in the medical community once more.
IN MY STORY, YOU CAN PROBABLY GUESS THAT HE ABDUCTS JOKER & RIDDLER straight from Arkham Asylum.

Here's mine. Nightmare: Dr. Victor Blackstone was a brilliant psychoanalyst at Arkham Asylum. his speciaty was dreams, specifically nightmares, he worked closely with his colleague Dr. Johnathan Crane. Howver, when Dr. Crane became Scarecrow Dr. Blackstone took over as the leading fear specialist at Arkham. Dr. Blackstone eventually found Crane's notes detailing his experiments with his "Fear gas" and decided to improve on them to suit his own deranged studies. Now the citizens of Gotham aren't even safe in their dreams, because Nightmare is waiting to unleash their deepest subconsious fears.

I actually thought of quite a few Batman villains; some recreated, others meant for other universes, and ones just for pure fun. For example, I made this one villain named The Big Bad Wolf; pretty much a one shot villain I'd use for maybe one story, if not just a few. Timothy Kaasen was once a marine in modern day warfare and was court marshaled in an unsolved murder case of one of his members in his unit. Not proven guilty however, he was able to join a GPD task force outside of Gordon's unit.
Later on, after his wife leaving with is daughters with due to abuse and molestation, all the anger and resentment leads him to a hot case where he nearly beats a drug dealer to death and one of his partners attempts to restrain him. In a blind fury, Timothy rapes and kills both his partner and the runaway dealer; later into the night, Gordon's unit old finds the dead detective and the dealer in a garbage can. Batman examining closely, he notices pieces of his body are missing and by some of the cuts, gashes and bruises, he concludes that Mr. Kaasen is a cannibal.
That night Timothy Kaasen dawns a halloween wolf mask with the mouth cut out, sharpens his teeth, applies hot glue to his fingers with filed nails, and springs out randomly both day and night as The Big Bad Wolf; mainly has set up crimes of killing, raping, torturing, and on many occasions eating, anyone in the police enforcement.... his little piggies, if you will.

Okay, here's my idea. I've actually had it for years, being a writer, I always wanted to write a serial killer story but I think this freak could work as a Batman villain perfectly. The press calls him The Love Bug Killer but he simply refers to himself as Cupid.
The man's name is Barty Gabble, he is a socially retarded, obese computer repairman. Suffering from severe schizophrenic delusions, Gabble believes that he is the host of a gigantic worm who lives in his belly and he can often be seen having conversations with his stomach.
His sickness is only worsened by his inability to get laid. Seriously, like most killers, this guy is governed almost entirely by his libido. And he figures that if can't find love for himself, he'll help other people find love.
So, he does what any self-respecting man would do. Puts on an adult diaper, a cheap plastic doll mask and a set of wings and tries to set couples up.
Unfortunately, these couples are often complete strangers - sometimes not even of the same species, sometimes consisting of a human and an inaminate object. And when these matches don't work out, Barty takes out his crossbow and puts Cupid's arrow right through their heart.

I think this would be a cool idea. Say if someone like Harvey bullocks cousin is in town and he too is a detective. Harvey tries to show him a good time when Commishoner gordon tells him that people have been complaining about a jokeresque character at a fundraiser bruce wayne is throwing at his mansion. Bullock takes his cousin and heads to the fundraiser. They arrive and enter to see almost everyone unconsious on the ground and they find a gas tank that was full of a knock out type of gas with an image of the joker stuck to it. Suddenley the jokeresque character stabs bullock in the sholder with a razor bladed joker card . Bullocks cousin then fights with this lunatic and ends up being thrown through a door where wayne and a few others are hiding. Wayne slips away to the batcave and puts on the suit. The joker type character announces that he has set bombs all over the mansion and they are set to blow in half an hour unless batman can save his hostage in which he takes bullocks cousin and heads to his secret hideout and batman follows. They arrive at the joker cobycats hideout where batman finds bullocks cousin hanging above a vat of a toxic liquid. batman has an ongoing fight with the copy cat where he ends up holding him in the air and says the words " you're just a copy cat." where the lunatic replies "Exactly" he then presses a button and everywhere he said he had bombs had suddonly just launched a bunch of balloons and confetti he then runs at bullocks cousin and grabs onto him. He cuts the rope and they fall into the vat. Bullocks cousin yells help but Batman is helpless as the hideout starts fallling apart for some reason (maybe actual bombs hidden there) Anyway batman flees the scen. The police arive and break the vat open where a mis-shapen body falls out. the police help it up and we then see the copy cat and bullocks cousins faces jon into one and he looks like a grim looking serial gothic clown type characer. The cops look shocked as he then starts to tear them apart. The character would become obsessed with the joker and have a grudge against batman for not saving him ( he could replace jojkers role) He would be super intelligent and super insane. he would have varied strenght and have a dark presence within gotham. he could eventually come face to face with batman but bullock tries to stop him which ends up with him killing bullock. His name could be something dark like Necrocorpius or something like that and would eventually hold gothams life at his fingertips

Here's a character I created while working on a little writing project. It's part of an original Batman story. A little bio and story summary.
Sebastian “Vendetta” Voller
An elderly former Gotham gangster who after losing his empire in the early 1970s, disappeared from Gotham. Falling into depression and drug addiction, Voller attempts to take his own life only to be saved by an unknown entity who trains Voller to become an able fighter and thinker. He lost an arm during a training exercise and is fitted with a steel plated prosthetic, capable of crushing bone in seconds. With his body and mind substantially improved, Voller turns on his teacher and returns to Gotham – determined to regain his criminal empire.
Despite his age, Voller has the health of a much younger man, attributed to deep meditation and a distain for processed food and meat. He claims that he had cancer but was able to eliminate the tumour through thought alone. He shows an instant dislike to Batman upon his return to Gotham – seeing him as an obstacle to his plans and as a symbol of what Gotham has become.
Returning to the city, Voller takes over a small time gangster's racket after crushing his throat with his steel plated arm. Voller teaches his new thugs and goons some of the techniques he was taught and thus becomes a small but powerful new crime syndicate in Gotham. Voller has his eye on the Black Mask, the established head of Gotham's most powerful family, as well as targeting those who took him down during his first run in Gotham. He is quickly given the name “Vendetta” by Gotham reporters.
He discovers that an illegitimate son, Jacob, conceived before leaving Gotham is now a high ranking official at the GCPD. Voller kidnaps Jacob and attempts to brainwash him but to no avail. Realising Jacob's will is too strong, he holds Jacob to ransom which is paid for by Jim Gordon despite Batman's plea. Voller releases Jacob but not before cutting his arm off.
Rising slowly through the cities criminal families, Voller begins experiencing the onset of Dementia. Becoming increasingly erratic, he begins to become confused with time – often believing he is the younger man during his original run in Gotham. During one of these episodes, he leaves his secure compound and visits a favourite restaurant with no protection which alerts a number of enemies. Batman, who has been observing Voller's behaviour, inadvertently prevents an assassination by spotting Deadshot who had been sent to kill Vendetta by the Black Mask. While Batman is battling Deadshot, Jacob arrives at the restaurant, fitted with his very own steel plated arm and crushes his fathers throat leaving him unable to speak before abducting him.
Some months later, Eric and Voller reappear, the latter now an invalid. Jacob claims he has his fathers full blessing to take over empire. There are questions regarding the relationship between the two – Gotham's underworld believing that Jacob tortured his own father to hand over the reigns and Batman's belief that Voller is really the one in control.
After investigating, Batman suspects that Voller is an alias and that he is in fact the same gangster that was prominent in Gotham during the 1920's. Batman deduces that the unknown entity who trained Vendetta possibly had access to the Lazarus Pit and was perhaps a member of the League of Shadows. While not confirmed, Batman begins to find evidence for LoS splinter groups across the world.

Well if I had to say. I believe that the Joker played Jack Nicholson was much more like the Joker than anything. In due time the world shall see a true Joker in our reality.
