Everybody good? Settled? Comfortable? Congratulations. Unlike those dummies on a show that's clearly going nowhere, you guys made it off the Lost Island and back to Survivor Isle. Well, everyone except enterthemadness. He was shot by savages and then eaten by rats. Good thing too, his picture was making me sick. :heart: Some goodbye stats for ETM... he's played in one previous game where he got booted off on Day 2 as well, and he's never been *picked* to play before this game. Aww. Let this be a lesson... poker faces up, enthusiasm down. ETM is now... DEAD!

But he leaves us now, and a new day is upon us. I told you we'd be moving quick! The dawn of Day 3.

THE RULES (for you lucky non-Survivor fans):

The original group of 24 is carefully divided into three tribes of 8 from before the game begins. The tribes are constructed and built based on playing experience, talent and ability.

Each 'day' is marked by a new challenge. Each tribe will receive team challenges (instructions for challenges will be explained for each challenge). Right answers during challenges will obviously earn points and wrong answers will be worth none. The tribe with the most points at the end of the 'day' (or round) wins immunity. The tribe with the least points must vote off one of their members via PM in a tribal council. Also, in this game... immunity may be decided by something other than trivia. You will be completely briefed on this before it happens, so do not fret. In the event of any ties, first team with their answers in will win... unless stated otherwise in your specific challenge PM.

If your tribe happens to win three days in a row, then they'll be given a gift in addition to their immunity: they'll go to tribal council on behalf of the other tribe and they'll vote off ANYONE IN THE GAME THAT THEY CHOOSE.

At some point the three tribes will be merged into one tribe. The game will only have one merge at a time already designated. Only the hosts will know about this day until the time it actually happens. Until that time, there will be mandatory trading set aside on a day that will be specified at a later time. Once the merge takes place, the challenges will then be for individual points and only one individual will win immunity.

Hype! Survivor is a game of both strategy and deception. Alliances are both permitted, and encouraged. So find a friend, and sex their brains out. Masterminding and forethought are the keys to success. Laziness and ineffective play will both be penalized and exposed. Hosts have the right to intervene at any point in the game for the sake of keeping dead weight out. As a side note: alliances can be with any of the 24 players... doesn't matter who they are... doesn't matter what tribes they're on... just make sure it's someone you trust... or not. As the old saying goes: keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.

***NEW*** The hosting duties in this game will be a little different. In order to ensure balance and fair play, a third host will be heavily involved in the game. They will review questionable calls and challenges, and they will also break up conflicts between the two active hosts. In order to allow the game to flow smoothly, their identity will not be revealed until the end so their integrity to the game's fairness may never be questioned. They may also silently assist in challenge structures and the like. In case the Ghost Host feels the issue is too complex to rule on, we'll bring in a Ghost Jury. Both 'sides' will argue their case as complete as possible, and a group of Hype! Survivor experts will read both arguments and make the call. The hosts will be powerless to overturn the judgment call at this point.

The final Jury will be composed of 9 people: everyone voted off from the remaining nine players who didn't make the finals, and as a bonus, the two game hosts will also have a vote in the Jury by the merits of a final challenge. They will not be responsible for collecting the votes, and will not see the outcome until everyone else does. The work of collecting votes will be up to the Ghost Host! The complete Jury will vote FOR WHO THEY THINK SHOULD WIN of the final two remaining players to find the winner of the Hype! Survivor.

A note on cheating: It's very easy to cheat in this game. Very, very easy. Some of the rounds will be much more difficult to cheat at than others (some will be downright impossible to cheat on). Regardless, hosts have ways of catching you, and sometimes will even set up traps for you. If you feel you have to cheat, by all means, go ahead... but if you're caught, you WILL be penalized. Again, specific rules of what's legal or not will be in each challenge PM.

Please keep in mind that these rules are subject to change with warning. They're merely a guideline for the game, and specific details may crop up here and there. Play hard, read carefully, and allow your cutthroat skills to shine forth. Voila!

More twists are just around the corner. Alot more game information will be coming your way. Your challenge will be fairly simple, and your challenge PM has alot of info for your consideration, so stay tuned for that. PMs will be sent out later tonight.

Okay, so that’s the challenge. Now, for the other news. Amongst the current roster of players, there exists one who is NOT your teammate/ally/friend. They’re one of us. They work for us… they’re a ‘mole’. This person is sent in to deceive you and manipulate the game. Your job? Identify them and eliminate via a tribal council. You’ve already spoken to them, and probably trusted them. Too bad, too sad.

But it wouldn’t be me if I couldn’t throw in a twist. I’ve told two different people that they’re THE mole. One is the genuine article, the other is a decoy. So not even the mole knows if they’re the real one or not. The fake doesn’t have as much privileges or responsibilities as the real one, but it allows EVERYONE to keep guessing. Pinpoint and destroy the mole. If the mole makes it to the final 5, we’ll identify them, and they’ll no longer work for us. Then they’ll have to finish out the game themselves, if they haven’t totally alienated you.

What exactly is the mole going to do to be "playing for the hosts"? How will they make this game more difficult for us? What is benefit of finding him or her?

I can't really go into heavy details here, Matt... like I said, I'll reveal more gradually... but the basic role of the mole is to make the game more difficult. Cheaters will be easier to catch with someone on the inside... alliances will be torn apart... and so forth.

A mole-free game makes it easier for the players.

I thought I'd let you know more about the mole.

The History

When I thought I was hosting alone, I was gonna go for a Usual Suspects themed game. Can't remember how Holly got attached, but I think she used chloroform. Anyway, I liked the idea of a third host being a player and corrupting the game... playing on both sides. Not manipulating for our benefit, but making the game more fiery, and making sure the best player really did win. The weak would be eliminated.

Anyway, we couldn't manipulate the game to make the third host be the mole, so I abandoned the idea and went with what we had. I couldn't make the idea work properly, and pretty much just said to hell with it. Then, when Holly was attached, she made a similar suggestion of a 'mole' type player. I pitched my revised idea and rewrote the role, and voilà.

The Player

The mole had to be someone who could be involved with the game and know what to do... so we let the sign-ups complete before I approached someone and pitched the idea. I previously pitched the idea to someone else about a month before the game began, but they tried to expose it, and I hate them anyway, so whatever. But the mole may choose to ask for assistant in their role, and seek alliances to assist them in their efforts to destroy you all.

The Benefits

The mole has a number of minor benefits... but for the most part, they're a player like the rest of you. Something you should know (that I haven't told ANYONE except for Holly) is this, if the mole makes it to the final 5, they're free to play on their own and use whatever they've gained to fuel them to the finale. However, if they haven't been voted out by the end of Day 17 (the final tribal council before the final 5) then they get to choose who goes home on that day by themselves!! In other words, the results of that tribal council are abolished, and the Mole deletes their biggest enemy.

Of course, if you destroy the mole before then, we'll announce it, and everything will be as it were. :yay:

Throughout the course of this game day, we'll review the remaining players/suspects.
