Now each is suppose to come out with their own City of Heroes only you can fight along side Spider-Man, Superman, Batman or help them guide you along.

dc's mmo is being made be soe
marvels is being made by cryptic (coh devs) and published by microsoft

now people might not like soe, but microsoft have had troubles even getting mmo's off the ground. they released ac1 with turbine then with ac2 dropped it. then there was another fanatsy mmo, (cant remember name) that never got released, then they got vanguard and eventually dropped that

both games will likely be for both pc and console, in the marvel/ms/cryptic interview http://comicbookresources.com/news/newsitem.cgi?id=8475
the answer to the last question could be seen as giving the players the chance to play as existing marvel heroes instead of a chance to play as your own ?

john smedley the head honcho of soe, has said in the past he is interested in alternative payment methods other than the monthly payment. saying that a future game will experiment with a new type of payment method ( some korean mmos make you buy the items and weapons instead of monthly fees) could the future game be the dc mmo who knows ?

I am getting this for PC more then likely you will be able to do more with it on PC then 360 or PS3

Well, considering that most games for x360 that are exclusives will be fully playable on a computer running Windows Vista, I don't see the point.

Anyway, I may end up getting both if I have the time...and money...

I will be getting both because I am hoping that unlike COH these games might have a Crisis or something like Civil War going on.

Its going to be an MMO, so you will most likely have to pay a monthly fee

It would be kind of cool to see how your own hero would fit into the DC and MARVEL universe.

I just wonder how this will play. Will we be able to play as Marvel characters or is it question of creating your own.

And if you play as a Marvel characters is there not a risk of having 20 Hulk, 50 Spidermans, 100 CAs, etc.?

Anytime you play a game that people are still adding onto, then you pay a monthly fee... if the game is already finished and will never improve and doesn't cost the company money anymore, then you don't have to pay to play. Simple math.

And if you play as a Marvel characters is there not a risk of having 20 Hulk, 50 Spidermans, 100 CAs, etc.?

There are ways to fix that. Trust me, it can be dealt with, even if you're allowed to play marvel characters.

Good ol' Phantasy Star :cmad: Damn that Hunter's License lol.

I'd much rather make my own person, but IF we had to play as pre-existing Marvel characters; I 'd want them to include a ton of minor characters too. That would be insanely fun. Instead of running around as Wolverine (:whatever:), I'd be Cannonball or Abyss. Just some lesser known heroes that would be a blast to play as.
