Alright, I've seen it mentioned, but couldn't believe I didn't see a thread dedicated to it...with The Prestige coming up...you can't help but thinkof the Batman v. Wolverine thing going on here. Which would be awesome, by the way.

So here's the question...who's would win, Batman or Wolverine??

And who do you think is going to come out on top in The Prestige?? Bale def. seems darker in the trailers.

I showed my wife these previews and said "Look Wolverine vs Batman". She reconized the actors and said "Cool!" I then had to tell her it was only the actors, not the characters. So in any case, I asked her the same question. I believe Batman would win. All Batman needs to go is get a huge magnet, of course that is assuming that he can fight off Wolverine long enough to figure that out. It shouldn't be a problem once he sees his claws.

We said fight, not a throat-slashing contest. "Okay Batman, you slashed my throat, now my turn to slash yours". Who says Wolverine would ever get the chance to get near Batman's throat. And a gun? do either of them ever use guns?

This all depends on the condition of the fight. A straight up brawl with no prep-time would go to Wolverine, but if Batman knew Wolverine was coming, Batman would make Wolverine cry. Wolverine rushes head first into fights, and just slashes whatever gets in is way. Batman thinks things through, develops a plan.

All Wolverine has to do is land one good strike on Batman, but Bats has a variety of ways to stop him in his utillity belt, I.E. For it to come to that though, Batman would have to know about Wolvie's mutant healing ability....and....you know what? I just don't know who would win.

this is the movie forum, so these are the movie versions of the characters. i don't know if anyone's noticed, but everytime wolverine fights somebody other than drunken barfighters or inept soldiers, he gets his ass handed to him. movie bats (bale in this case as he's the current one) would beat the hell out of movie wolverine.

Rogue gets WOlverine's powers ( temporarily) and Wolverine dies.

It's a simple case of brains versus brawn. Batman keeps detailed files and takes precautionary measures even against his own allies and one would be stupid to think he would get into a fight with Wolverine (who is pound for pound superior to him as well as increasingly more lethal in both fighting prowes and resilient toughness). With that said, Wolverine is not untouchable - there are plenty of times other villains and heroes have gotten the best of him and Bats is sure to have taken notes on that. Batman has a habit of uncovering his foes weaknesses and unfairly exploiting them.

Wolverine is like a grunt, a soldier while Batman is more of a strategist or a general if you prefer. He could easily devise a way of taking down the mutant without even directly participating in the duel.

But taking into account as they're both fictional entities, Batman is infinitely more intriguing as a character than Wolverine (with an incomparably superior rogues gallery to boot). I don't know about that. But because of Wolverines healing factor, adamantium skeleton, and beserker rage I doubt Bats could knock him out or kill him hand to hand, even if he can fight better.
