I think a big factor in the future of console gaming will be online gaming.

The PS3 and 360 have the sheer power to handle a large amount of players in a big, detailed world. But what about the Wii??

What kind of online gaming will Wii feature?

I don't have a DS, so I don't know alot about this Wi-Fi stuff. Does Wi-Fi allow you to play against other people across the world?

Yup, pretty much.

So hows that work? Does it connect to a modem or something?

The video and links should help. If you have broadband all you'll have to do is by a WiFi Connector, attach to your computer and you're set since you're already paying for that internet connection.

Sweet!

But yeah... I think online gaming will be better with the other consoles, since the other consoles can just handle alot more going on.

Okay a few questions.

First, is this what I need to download games off of Virtual Console (which I'm more interested in)?

Second, I already have a wireless router for my laptop at home. Do I need anything else?

And lastly, my router is made by Apple as my computer is an Apple. Will it still work then?

Any help would be much appreciated and thanks.

Yes. You need an internet connection to connect to the VC.

I don't think so. If you can get connected through your laptop, it should be fine. If you had a DS or know someone who does, try getting a connection with it.

And lastly, my router is made by Apple as my computer is an Apple. Will it still work then?
The Airport Express and Airport Extreme support Nintendo WiFi connection, so if you have one of those I think you're set.

The only thing you should worry about are the annoying little brats you'll verse.

They just drop out of the game. They don't curse at you and scream at you if they're losing.

Just to make sure, we won't HAVE to use WiFi to get online, will we?

Since it's "Nintendo WiFi Connection", I believe so. Wikipedia isn't loading for me now so I'm not 100% sure.

EDIT: There is an Ethernet port.

So you've decided to get a Wii then? :(

I'm gonna play CTOAN in Mario Kart Wii one day. It's been my dream ever since I came to this site. It replaced my old dream of fondling a goat, which was pretty underwhelming. This however will exceed my expectations, I'm sure. The sheer thought of him(?) holding his controller and rubbing his kart against mine as we race along side is unspeakably orgasmic.

Too bad he can't afford one, and has a cardbox for a TV... and a home.

:csad:

Thanks for ruining my dreams.

Another question. I CAN use the Wii-mote to play the old NES and SNES games I download off of Virtule Console. RIGHT? I DON'T have to buy that money sucking "classic" controller then?

No, it can be used for that, but I don't know about the N64... although I believe there'll be an adapter to make it feel like home. GC games can use the GC controller though.

Can you play GC games with the Classic controller?
