will you be able to play any music you want while playing a game like the customizable soundtrack option on X Box games and the functionality on the 360?

and

can PS3 play regular DVDs as well as blue ray...or is it only blue ray?

I am sure you can play all dvds on it since it is backwards compatible with the PS2.

I'm not really sure on the other part though.

of course you can play DVD in there. I beleive ALL BRD players do and the PS3 is no exception

I think they said it was a hit, check out a video on Gametrailers about the demo of the user interface, I believe Phil says you can customize a soundtrack feature. Does that Help?!
