Not if you did it Mel Gibson's Patriot style. Have militias that bombard events and whatnot instead of a straight forward muzzle-to-muzzle shootout. Throwing tomahawks would be cool as well in between loading your muzzle.

Plus, I was just thinking that if they keep going into the future the franchise may turn into something like Tribes.

..The demo for it is comeing out tomorrow, so thay say, and the game is said to be on the shelf in two weeks....I hope.
