The Official Phillippe-Dent thread -Oct 20th?

Though im not sure this credits a new thread I just saw a commerical for Ryan Phillippes new movie http://www.flagsofourfathers.com/ by none other than WB.

If the rumors turn out to be true and he has been cast as Dent im guessing there is a high chance we will hear about it around October 20th, the day his new WB movie opens in theatres.
If we dont hear he has been cast when this movie comes out it would be my guess the rumor is false or he was only considered/screen tested.

Considering BoF has talked about some big news coming up im thinking this is a pretty good guess. What do you guys think? Am I jumping the gun? :p

I called this "the official" because I wanted to keep this thread around until the 20th and seperate from the Dent casting thread.

It might be Phillipe, it might not. The fact that after all the hoopalah was made about him getting the part and there was no announcement... well, that makes me think that Phillipe is either not signed yet or he's not in the film at all. My thinking leads me towards the latter.

I have a feeling that we're going to be surprised with who Nolan picks for Dent.

I'm sorry, I just do not believe Phillipe will be Dent. I cant accept it. After all this good news, after all the hope i've had built up for this movie, to have it all crushed by having Ryan Phillipe as Harvey Dent, it would be too devastating. I mean come on, Nolan hasn't made one terrible casting decision yet (Katie Holmes coulda been better, but wasn't terrible) so why would he suddenly break that and do something like this? Cant see it happening, who cares if he's got a movie coming out at the same time as The Prestige?

Nah, it is doubtful. I think Nolan is keeping another actor, who is his true choice for Dent.

But i have feeling we will know something new on October 20th (except The Prestige).

Actually Jett didn't say it was someone new or someone who wasn't previously mention.. He didn't denied any names and keeping it cryptic (guess to drive us crazy LOL)

To me, casting Pillippe as Dent would just be casting a young actor just for the sake of casting a young actor. Not because he would be perfect for the role. Same with Jake.
