The Wiire participated in a recent teleconference with Kouichi Ishii, Senior Vice President of Square-Enix and Executive Producer of Children of Mana, in which he discussed Wii's Virtual Console and the future of the Mana series.

According to Ishii, Square-Enix is planning support for the Virtual Console service, and only needs to make final confirmations as to which classic titles will be available for download. To date, 24 publishers are planning support for Virtual Console.

Regarding the Mana series, Ishii said he's actively pursuing development of a Mana title on Wii, adding that the system has much potential. On a slightly separate note, whether or not gamers will see a Secret of Mana sequel, Ishii stated, depends mostly on fan feedback.

He's mentioning the Virtual Console, not the Wii. And Square Enix is making several games for the Wii.

First download if that happens. Wanted to play that game for ten years now.
